Hello quiche avoiders Wink

Lovely shiny new thread- we are a talkative bunch!

First Thread

Second Thread

To be a quiche avoider you must
-have a considerable amount of weight to lose
-be serious about wanting to lose it
-give other members a virtual kick up the arse when needed
-weigh in with us on a Wednesday (or if you weigh in on another day, post your results on a wednesday)

So roll up, jump in and lets lose lbs! and if you are having a moment of weakness just remember... what would clarinet do Wink

hello, just to say I'm ill so not weighing in this week Sad . On the plus side (if there is one) have eaten less than 400cals today so far as too poorly for food.

MissElodie · 23/10/2013 15:01

aww Reastie hope you feel better soon Flowers

IsThatTrue · 23/10/2013 17:26

Oh reastie I hope you get better soon.

clarinetV2 · 23/10/2013 18:52

I've stayed the same, which is what I wanted/expected on the maintenance plan. But luckily weigh-in was this morning because I got frantically hungry at lunchtime (after eating my lovely healthy tuna salad) so went to the work canteen and had some chicken concoction with rice - then spotted home-baked muffins on my way out and succumbed. And I was still hungry for tea when I got in, so I'm now several hundred calories over where I'm supposed to be. Will need to get back on the case tomorrow.

Hope you feel better soon, Reastie.

moonshine · 23/10/2013 20:36

Get well soon Reastie.

0.5lbs off this week - no surprise as haven't been in the zone at all but disappointed that my big gain didn't come off easily (but as I suspected I knew it wouldn't).

Hard week ahead with (boozy) visitors staying and lots of cakes etc to cook for a Halloween party. Also feeling down about my job and life in general but hey ho, onwards and hopefully upwards (eventually).

LegaaaahhhhAutopsy · 23/10/2013 21:47

We'll done everyone on the losses.

BirdingWidow · 24/10/2013 06:24

Thanks for the good wishes everyone - first day went fine. I have lots of spreadsheets to play with now- I had forgotten how much I like them!

Well done to the losers and all those who STS - some weeks that is an achievement, when life gets in the way. And better than the inevitable creep upwards if we don't try. Yellow, you sound particularly fed up but as others have said, you lost a lot of weight very quickly so a catch-up is inevitable. Can you see/measure your shape changing at all? Anyway, with all you have going on it is hard to focus on it but you'll get there in the end, you seem very determined.

Sorry to hear you are ill Reastie. I meant to say yesterday that it is a shame you haven't been out or done anything nice just for yourself for ages. Come to London - I have a spare room reserved especially for Christmas Fairies and will show you a good time in my middle-aged way, none of that clubbing nonsense

Went out to the quiz last night. Free booze and food (though all fatty and deep-fried and no option to buy anything). I didn't eat loads but suspect I went a looooong way over my calories anyway. Not to mention the wine I hoovered. Was also bad because on the way to the quiz I popped into John Lewis on Oxford st and bought a laptop rucksack AND a new (compact) handbag to complement the rucksack (I decided that my usual big handbags are not really appropriate with a laptop bag - rather a thin justification). Oops Blush. But still, you're never too fat for a handbag, eh?

DebbieFiderer · 24/10/2013 07:51

Hi all. Haven't been on this thread since my name change (hopefully you will figure out who I was but please don't say, feel free to pm to ask though). Anyway, sorry for not being around much, I will try to get back into it again now. I lost 1lb this week if I am not to late for the round up.

Reastie · 24/10/2013 08:39

Well done on the losses and thanks for the get well wishes, you are all so lovely. I feel alot better than yesterday (thank goodness as I'm home alone with DD today) but still rubbish and it's going to be a loonnnnnnngggggg day Confused .

birding Thanks for the offer. I actually don't live that far away from London bet you're regretting the offer now . A new hand bag never needs justification IMO Wink

debbie I can't work out who you are Blush - can you pm me it?

YellowCanary1 · 24/10/2013 09:41

Thanks birding, I'm really trying to change my mindset at the moment, for example I don't feel I'm sucessful because I've lost over 3 and half stone, I feel a failure as I set myself a 4 stone target by end of October and I don't think I'll reach it. I'm like it with most things though, set really tough targets and even if I do well, if I don't reach what I set I feel I totally failed - very silly approach!
Agree new hand bag is a must!

Debbie - sorry no idea who you!

Glad you're feeling better reastie.

I just restocked fridge with last veg of the summer season from the garden and made lots of soup so feeling much more positive about a good week with healthy food conveniently avsilable!

Also is it me or has thread gone very quiet? Where is everyone??

Reastie · 24/10/2013 09:49

yellow you sound just like me re: feeling a failure. I usually set myself really easy/achievable goals on purpose as I know I'll beat myself up if I don't meet it. It sort of works as then I might do better than my goal and feel really proud of myself Blush . FWIW 3 1/5 stone is incredible, there is NO WAY that is a fail

HenriettaBrain · 24/10/2013 09:50

Just popping in- haven't read the thread yet, but will update stats later

phantomhairpuller · 24/10/2013 10:27

Reastie, you're right. The thread has gone very quiet. Hopefully it's not a reflection on how we're all doing Hmm

Debbie- not a clue who you are, sorry!

Well done to those of us who weighed yesterday. Be it a loss, a gain or a STS, we're still trudging on! Hopefully we'll have more of our group back sometime soon Smile

LottieDidIt · 24/10/2013 16:48

Hi,

moonshine sorry to hear you are feeling down about things - hope it starts to get a bit more on the up side for you soon.

birding I'm glad your first day went well. So funny that you say never too fat for a handbag as I actually think I am Blush I was given bought myself but meant to be a present from DP a lovely Radley (v reduced in the sale) handbag for my birthday and I haven't worn it because it is an across the body bag and it seems a little small against my big frame iyswim. Having said that I have always had a obsession with shoes and handbags and have accumulated waaaaaay too many over the years and I know this is because I've never been able to find nice clothes to fit whereas handbags and shoes always would!!

Oh yes and I'm a regular who has name changed too. If you say the letters L O D that might give you a clue but pm me if not!!

phantomhairpuller · 24/10/2013 16:52

Ah Lottie- I know who you are Wink I hope!

IsThatTrue · 24/10/2013 17:34

lottie I got it :)

Well I've eaten a small piece of dd's birthday cake today on top of what I normally eat. But I'm not too worried as it's not a fast day and I ran this morning.

People keep saying I'm getting skinny. I'm 4lb off my first goal (10 stone 7) but at 5ft 3 I'm not sure that will be enough. It doesn't help I still see fat me in the mirror. I am not being as strict with food as I was, but I don't have much appetite anymore so my portions are much smaller than they were before I started. Just feeling a bit Confused by it all.

BirdingWidow · 24/10/2013 18:31

Lottie, I am relieved that I also know who you are (so not the class dunce!). I do know what you mean about small bags -I tried a small leather backpack-style bag on in a shop once and looked like I had a clingy insect on my back! Still, I think cross-body is better than a rucksack. I have been using a smallish one ever since I had DS (easier for hands-free) and haven't worried about it.

I do miss the busier days of the thread so appreciate that people have popped on more today. I will keep withering on anyway, tell my to wind my neck in if it is dull. I wonder what has become of Isaac, cq and others. It's understandable if people feel like giving up for now, it's hard and the time has to be right, but I hope they come back.

Debbie, I don't know who you are either! Maybe I'll have a revelation in my sleep.

Ha ha Reastie, I don't regret it! Maybe one day we can have a quiche meet-up for those who feel like it. We can go and eat sashimi pizza and drink sparkling mineral water gin/beer/wine

Today isn't going too badly though I did snaffle a couple of cubes of cheddar left over from the baby's snack Blush. Still can't resist cheese...

DebbieFiderer · 24/10/2013 19:56

Hmmm how to do this subtly. I have changed.from one tv show character to another, but the old name was first name only. And I hadn't really posted for a couple of weeks except to log my weight loss.

phantomhairpuller · 24/10/2013 21:32

Aha, I know now Debbie Wink good to see you!

I saw one of our 'originals' on another thread today. Not seen her since the beginning of this thread. Am hoping she hasn't got bored of us Wink

Come back people!! If you've not been around because things haven't been going so well, that's fine. We've all been there.
