Hi all!! (waves!)

Cant believe our last thread filled up so quickly!

For those of you who don't know us, the 'Avoid the Quiche' Quiche is a group of people who all want to lose a substantial amount of weight (no coming on here complaining about the half a stone you desperately need to lose, thanks very much!) We all have different personal goals and reasons for wanting to lose weight, whether it be for a special holiday coming up, to aid fertility or to be healthier. This thread is a place to share your highs and lows, talk to like minded people, get encouragement and offer support to others when they need it!

Official weigh in day is Wednesday- Slimmer of the week will get a virtual bunch of flowers, woohoo!! Flowers

I personally am aiming to lose 6 stone. It wont be easy but i've got a great bunch of ladies behind me keeping me focused and for that i'm very grateful! Smile

I had to go and buy new jeans today. Never a positive experience. But I have deliberately bought cheap ones as I don't intend to be wearing that size for too long.

I would love to drop at least a dress size for Christmas as all my naice clothes are that size.

IsThatTrue · 17/09/2013 19:24

I've had a great NSV of fitting in my old jeans (normal 12s and small 14s) so I now have a much larger choice of clothes.

I've also been very good food wise, except Sunday night when we had Indian takeaway but I felt poo, had done a 10k race and promptly threw most of it up anyway (I thought I felt poo because of the race but think I must have had some sort of bug). Yesterday was a fast day, so only water until evening when I had a lovely meal (under 500kcal). I have avoided snacking today, although dud have a lovely indulgent hot choc at the Italian cafe with a friend this morning. I've done a 4mile run in 40 minutes and now waiting for my roast chicken to cook.

I hope those of you having off days can wipe the slate clean tomorrow. This thread has helped me so much, I feel much more positive than last week!

YellowCanary1 · 17/09/2013 19:32

Hey all, sorry been a bit busy so haven't dropped in. Things going well here really, had a sneak peak at the scales and I am in the 12s!! That is 43lbs off in 14 weeks! Just about kept with calories over a very social weekend and really getting into my running, completing a 9k on sunday and 7k today. I think the feeling of being fit is even nicer than than wanting to be thinner if that makes sense.
We've ALOT going on family wise at the moment with a huge amount of upheaval and changes going on in professional and domestic lives. Over the next three months neither DH or I (though I'm currently on maternity leave!) will have the same jobs, taking on lots of responsibility from a family business, we are moving house to a place which needs a lot of work (though very beautiful!), supporting MIL and FIL moving and I'm starting a PhD all whilst having a toddler and baby! I'm just hoping I can stay focused. I wanted to be 12 stone by my birthday in 3 weeks, but I don't think that is feasible really. 11st7lb is my absolute goal just hope all the other stresses don't take over!

HenriettaPye · 17/09/2013 20:13

Weigh in tomorrow, how does everyone think they have done? I've been pretty good although just had some pizza for dinner Hmm

Told DH I'm too sick to eat so he got a pizza delivery and once I smelt it I magically got my appetite back GrinGrin

HerdyHerdwick · 17/09/2013 20:19

I last got weighed on Friday, so when I report in tomorrow I won't have done a full week, so I'm hoping for one pound Grin
Glad you managed some pizza, it sounds as if you may be on the road to recovery now Henrietta.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 17/09/2013 20:41

Yellow I feel exhausted just reading that! Well done on your weight loss, that is incredible.

Henrietta the same would have happened to me, I am sure Grin

I am hoping for two pounds tomorrow, which would be 184lbs or 13 stone 2.

This next bit is going to be tough. I have got to this point several times and always seem to hit a wall and then gain some back. I must, must not let it happen again.

IsThatTrue · 17/09/2013 21:13

I think this weeks gone well but I do have some insight as I daily weigh I've done 5:2 since thurs last week and been pretty good the rest of the time so I should see results in the scales.

I hope everyone else gets the results they want.

LayMizzRarb · 17/09/2013 21:38

Ladies - have any of you tried that new Oxo product -' Shake and Flavour'?
It comes in a jar the same size as a spice jar, and is in three flavours - Roast chicken, Roast beef, and Garlic and herb. I can only describe it as the same kind of powder they use to flavour crisps. It is lovely on corn on the cob, potatoes and blander vegetables. 8 calories a teaspoon.
I got mine from Ocado, but would think it would be near the oxo cubes in shops?

LegoAcupuncture · 17/09/2013 21:53

I've seen those advertised LayMizz, might have to pick some up!

BirdingWidow · 18/09/2013 05:15

Well I have lost 2.5 lb so am now (just) in the 13s! V happy with that... Or at least I will be when I wake up properly. Woken at 3.30, up at 4.30am. Feel about 80 years old.

Am rather befuddled so hope this is the right thread and I haven't announced my weight to Reastie's millions of Christmas followers...

MiaWallace · 18/09/2013 06:20

Well done Birding that's great.

2lb off for me this week.

Just 1lb shy of losing my first stone.

Good luck everyone weighing today

YellowCanary1 · 18/09/2013 06:37

Well done birding and mia . Good losses!!
Birding I could have joined you this morn as baby bright eyed from 4am!

Don't really get it but lost another 3lb! I seemed to plateau for a few weeks, had a break and went on holiday, then dropped 9lb in 2 weeks! I wonder if going on mirena coil has had an effect. my body seemed to play around for a few weeks and then settled a few weeks ago so wonder if water retention was having an effect as I feel eating has been the same! 11lbs to go to healthy bmi!!!!!!!! Grin

HerdyHerdwick · 18/09/2013 06:52

Morning, just on my way out to work but I weighed and have lost 1 pound.
Good luck to everyone for Wednesday weigh in!

IsaacCox · 18/09/2013 07:08

Hello all. Sorry I've been absent again. I've been busy/ill/fell off the wagon Blush I'll have to catch up later or tomorrow but I am back on the wagon as of today. I've put on 1lb Blush Thought it'd be more tbh

Well done on all the losses! :)

IsThatTrue · 18/09/2013 07:09

Great losses! :)

Starting weight 14 stone 1
Weight last week 11 stone 13
Weight this week 11 stone 7

So loss this week is 6lbs :)

Total loss to date 36 lbs! :)

Fast day today so just water until dinner time.

I hope others have good weigh days today.

Lorelai · 18/09/2013 07:11

Well done ladies. I did a sneaky weigh in this morning and am definitely in for a loss, but will wait for the official result at SW tonight.

TiredNursey · 18/09/2013 07:12

Morning All.
Just weighed in, 3lbs off. Thats 17lbs so farSmile

Good losses ladies, Mia and Birding, Yellowcanary and Herdy; just think of all those packs of butter you were carrying around that have now been left on the supermarket floor!
Giggling here at the appetite restoring properties of pizza smells. Grin

Right now when am I going to look in the mirror and see a difference? I've been using the body mass index visualiser to try and see but the boobs are wrong so it's not me if you see what I mean. My trousers are definitely looser again this week, but the mirror.... nope nothing. (its all in my head I know)

Lorelai · 18/09/2013 07:14

Sorry, x-posted. Well done isthat, that's amazing!! Isaac, sorry to hear you put on, but at least you know the reason. Put it behind you and move on, this is a new week.

TiredNursey · 18/09/2013 07:18

Lots of cross posts.
This thread is brill, people are doing really well.
Isaac, 1 lb on this week, well it's only a pound, and it will be gone next week. Chin up, dont feel bad. Everyone human has gain weeks from time to time. Back on track and we will be with you this week.

YellowCanary1 · 18/09/2013 07:33

I know tirednursery i pick up ds1 who is 3 stone and struggle to lift him, then think I've lost more than this! Total of 45lbS now in 14 wks. Calorie counting definitely works,

Also I discovered cauliflower rice, its lovely btw!

Sirzy · 18/09/2013 08:08

2lb off

Start weight - 15 stone 13
Current weight - 13 stone 3

Wondering if I can get under 12 stone by Christmas?

Well done to everyone on the losses.

Sirzy · 18/09/2013 08:10

Tired- did you take before and after photos? I struggle to see a difference in the mirror but the photos really show it

clarinetV2 · 18/09/2013 08:20

Congratulations all losers! Some fantastic losses posted this morning.

I've gained a pound but like Isaac I'm relieved it's not more - I thought the weekend's carb fest followed by yesterday's blip might have done more damage than that.

Tell you what, cq, I'll promise to wipe the slate clean and start again without giving myself a hard time for self-sabbing if you promise to do the same. Do we have a deal?

cq · 18/09/2013 08:24

That's a deal. I too have gained a pound. Was wondering if I went for a run and then re-weighed, maybe it would disappear, but that's cheating!

I will take it on the chin and we will start again from now, Clarinet

I'm still going to go for a run. I'm all dressed in my running gear but now need to wait till all the school kids are safely in class - don't fancy running the gauntlet of that mouthy lot!

YellowCanary1 · 18/09/2013 08:28

Sirzy you can do 12 by christmas! Go for it!
So glad I did photos as day to day so hard to see changes!
Those worried by self sabotaging, new week, new start ! My dad always says you can't change yesterday but you sure as can change tomorrow! :-)
