That would be me Sad.

I have weighed in this morning at 12 2, my heaviest EVER. I have hovered around 11 10 for over a year, not doing anything about it. This morning I could actually cry, I would if the dcs were not here.

In the grand scheme of things I know this isn't the end of the world but dear god I'm feeling every pounds of it today. I am hoping that by starting this I can make myself accountable and achieve better health, knees and back are bad. I am away shortly and need to make good choices, don't want fad diet, just sensible eating and exercise. I'm just rambling now but needed to get this down.

welcome cookie....mmmm cookies Wink

Thanks for the encouragement sparky you've made me feel better about my meal tonight... One blow out does not equal disaster I guess. That however does not mean I can have two puddings

mrsf congrats on the 11.5!

I was up a pound this morning. How?! I eat salad! so same as last week 11.9 Angry maybe eating a big meal tonight will kick start the metabolism for next week!

Yep Friday is weigh in day!
I've not been following any diet just cutting out biscuits and crisps etc and walking more its coming off slow but its coming off so that's ok :)

Hi cookie, yes usually weigh in on Friday to stop the urge to weigh every day (can vary so much & be disheartening).

Share tips, reassurance that we're on the right track etc.

Sounds good Wishful, I weigh in the morning, it would definitely be more in the evening IMO, because of food/drinks consumed.

How's everyone getting on?

I'm pleased with how I'm doing but had a stark reminder today that its still early days, a photo of myself taken a couple of days ago & I still look overweight Sad

Hoping its not going to flatten my enthusiasm because I think seeing the scales drop some pounds has made me feel I look slimmer (even if its just in my head Grin). Onwards.

Wishfulmakeupping · 08/10/2013 10:52

Yeah I know what you mean sparky I do feel slimmer but my tummy still looks big in pictures.
I'm concerned about my upper arms aswell they are terrible :( its from putting on and losing weight before they are saggy and I've been exercising but its not making any difference not sure what to do they looked better fat tbh :(

Well done Mrs, we're getting there Grin

11 st 2 today, my weight loss is slowing but I think that's normal, I've read that 1-2 pounds a week loss is ideal.

Another 2 pounds and I will be officially 'not overweight' Grin according to BMI.
And about halfway to my goal (although I'll be pleased with anything under 11 stone).

Well done sparky. I did weigh in yesterday but forgot to post it! I'm 13.3 and 1/2 so another 1 down which is ok as I've not been able to do as much walking this week (bad weather!) but on the plus side I've been told unprompted by 2 family member that I've lost a lot of weight and bumped into a lady from work who told me I look amazing (I could have kissed her!)

mrsfiddymont · 12/10/2013 18:01

well done sparky andwishful. 1-2lb a week is definitely the way to go, slow and steady wins the race Grin.

Am very Envy at someone noticing your weight loss, you must have been Grin from ear to ear.

Thank you mrs its been nice its given me a little boost which I needed this week.
I've started doing arm exercises everyday in an attempt to do something about my awful bingo wings please everyone cross your fingers it works.
What exercises is everyone else doing?

I do Zumba, its been really good for toning, my legs (and arms) definitely have a better shape.

Plus fast walks with the dog, just picking a route that takes about 40mins then trying to walk faster every time, dog not impressed sometimes, I'm like "come on, stop sniffing!" Grin

Wishfulmakeupping · 12/10/2013 18:58

I have fancied trying Zumba but don't know if I'd feel too self conscious not got a good sense of rhythum and would be bigger than most people there but it does look fun

SparkyTGD · 12/10/2013 19:09

There is a real mix at my local zumba class (small town) some people very overweight, some average, a couple of slim fit types (me in a few months hopefully!!)

I think it helps if you like dancing though, its not dance but is quite dance-y.
