That would be me Sad.

I have weighed in this morning at 12 2, my heaviest EVER. I have hovered around 11 10 for over a year, not doing anything about it. This morning I could actually cry, I would if the dcs were not here.

In the grand scheme of things I know this isn't the end of the world but dear god I'm feeling every pounds of it today. I am hoping that by starting this I can make myself accountable and achieve better health, knees and back are bad. I am away shortly and need to make good choices, don't want fad diet, just sensible eating and exercise. I'm just rambling now but needed to get this down.

Scales clearly broken. I've not put on 10lbs in a day. Hate this. Have a difficult mental relationship with scales. Hmm

SparkyTGD · 26/09/2013 11:03

I'm sneaky weighing too, must stop, don't want to get too OTT about it.

Do your clothes feel looser english?

Mine do, and some that I've not been able to wear for ages now fit ok Grin

Does anyone have 'thinspiration' or is that not a term I should use? I think in the context of overweight grown women its ok maybe? I know its a difficult issue with slim teenage girls but I feel ok about 'using' that myself.

Mine are Cameron Diaz, Sarah-Jessica Parker, Daisy Lowe (she's doing a 'fit not thin' campaign for the times), Victoria Pendleton.

Actually thinking about it maybe 'fitspiration' or 'slimspiration' would be a better term Grin

englishteacher78 · 26/09/2013 17:26

Yes, that's why I'm not stressed.

mrsfiddymont · 26/09/2013 19:47

english your scales so definitely have to go!

sparky don't have a thinspiration but slowly the lbs are coming off and I have it in my mind that I can actually do this.

Sneaky weigh in today was good, hope I haven't ruined it for "official" weigh in tomorrow.

I'm in. I've not been happy with my weight in over a decade and after a family holiday I've weighed in on Monday at 11.8. That's the heaviest I've ever been (apart from when i was pregnant and didn't go anywhere near the scales).

My brother is getting married in February and I would love to be under 9 stone. With Christmas in the way I'm not sure that is a realistic target but I'm going to give it everything I've got.

Following the slimming world plan although I'm not going to the classes as I find them a waste of money. I'm also trying to walk more. I would normally weigh in on a Monday but I think I'll join you all on a Friday!

I think the biggest change in my outlook this time is that I'm not going to tell anyone I'm trying to lose weight. People either try to sabotage my efforts or ask about it all the time. I'm doing this for me and my health.

Wishfulmakeupping · 26/09/2013 20:36

Welcome bouncy I've been trying to quietly lose weight too otherwise people want constant updates
english think we have the same scales lol

Not long until weigh in ladies I've not been having my nightly flake that should count for something right?!

Wishfulmakeupping · 27/09/2013 07:49

13.6 and 1/2 really pleased that's exactly 1.5 like I was aiming for :) nice surprise as I sneaked on the scales last night and it said 13.8.
I want another 1.5 off by next Friday then if I can get a pound a week off until Xmas that would be good.

Good luck everyone x

mrsfiddymont · 27/09/2013 08:31

bouncy welcome. Having an event to aim for is always a good incentive and I totally agree about people sabotaging if they know you are on a diet.

Well done wishful. I also have it in the back of my mind about a lb each week up to Christmas. I am drooling at the thought of a nightly Flake Grin.

Got on the scales this morning, they flickered between two numbers before settling on the......6. Down 3lbs this week so I'm now 11.6!!! I have lost 10lbs since I started. I can do this, I CAN DO THIS. Can you tell I'm SmileGrin.

Wishfulmakeupping · 27/09/2013 09:18

That's fab mrs well done! 3 in a week have you been exercising lots?

bouncychair · 27/09/2013 09:40

11.4 this morning so that's 4 pounds since Monday! That's the holiday weight lost.

The last time I felt this determined to loose weight was when I was at Uni and lost 1.5 stones so I really hope I can keep this up.

I have promised my sister that I would make her some Millionaires Shortbread for her birthday tomorrow so I've got a bit of a test this afternoon not to lick the bowl and/or eat half of it before I give it to her!

Wishfulmakeupping · 27/09/2013 11:38

Wow bouncy that's fab :)
You are both inspiring me for next week

SparkyTGD · 27/09/2013 12:01

Well done everyone Grin

I'm 11st 7 today so am pleased.

Was 12 stone for ages and it just didn't budge, think I was hoping the weight would just come off without much effort, which it doesn't unfortunately.

Its definitely going the right direction, I feel slimmer already, have lost an inch off my waist which is my main problem area. All my clothes are looser, yay!!

mrsfiddymont · 27/09/2013 15:29

Fantastic loses everyone Grin.

bouncy how did the baking go?

sparky I would love an inch from my wasit, I am tub shaped Grin.

wishful I have done exactly zero exercise since I started this but my job is manic at the moment so I'm on the go literally all day, so think that is helping.

OP posts:
teaandkittens · 27/09/2013 20:58

congrats everyone! Grin

I weighed in at 11.9 this morning so that's a total of 10lbs off since I started not eating like a fatty last Tuesday!

I'm on my phone so can't see who asked me but the 17 day diet is basically a 4 stage diet broken down into 17 day chunks... I'm 11 days into stage 1, you basically just eat protein and veg.

Keep at it ladies we're all doing pretty well!

Wishfulmakeupping · 27/09/2013 22:10

10lbs!!!!

Well done you that's amazing

mrsfiddymont · 01/10/2013 06:22

How's everyone doing?

OP posts:
SparkyTGD · 01/10/2013 12:16

I'm good mrsf how are you getting on?

I feel so pleased that my weight is starting to come off, had been same for so long & think just accepted that was the size I was going to be.

I think the way I'm doing it is helping, we still eat takeaways once a week, eat the same (or similar) evening meals, still drink wine, so I don't feel I'm 'dieting' IYKWIM. Just cutting down (quite drastically) on mainly lunchtime portions & between meal snacking. I only snack on fruit now.

Hopefully can stick with it.
We can do it!! Grin

Wishfulmakeupping · 01/10/2013 12:19

I'm being quite good for me not going for it as much as you all. My diet is the same minus as many biscuits but I've been walking every day so fingers crossed another 1.5 lbs off by fri :) how are you doing mrs?

mrsfiddymont · 01/10/2013 17:44

Glad to hear you are both still with me Grin.

I'm doing pretty much the same as you, cutting down. I realise now that I probably ate far too much and didn't actually need the quantity I was eating.

Unbelievably stressful weekend has just passed, am hoping for at least 1lb off this week.

OP posts:
Wishfulmakeupping · 01/10/2013 21:30

Hope everything is ok. It's so hard when other things are going on- during any difficult times my default setting is to comfort eat

mrsfiddymont · 03/10/2013 08:32

mmmmm takeaways, thing of the past in my house though Grin.

I must be stressing away the lbs, scales flickered between 4 and 5 this morning, settled on 5, (started at 12 2, now 11 5). I am very happy seeing that in writing and I don't care that it's Thursday, I'm bagging 11 5 as my weigh in this week, unless the scales show 11 4 tomorrow Grin.

OP posts:
Wishfulmakeupping · 03/10/2013 09:33

Ha ha why not mrs :)
My scales say I've only lost 1/2 lbs so I'm waiting until tomorrow in the hope that I'll lose another 1 at least by the morning

teaandkittens · 03/10/2013 21:29

Hi guys!

Congrats on sticking to it and doing well and mrsf I think you're definitely allowed to weigh in today unless it's lower tomorrow!

I'm a bit grumpy as I have been so good but am only down 1lb since last week after a big loss to begin with. I know it slows down but I'm still grumpy!

Going out for dh's work do tomorrow and there's a three course meal. seen the menu. It is not diet friendly. Argh!

cookielove · 03/10/2013 22:15

Hello hello hello can I join?

I think I am probably the heaviest at 14.2 and 5'8.

But i know I can loose weight. My heaviest ever was 16.3 just need to get back on the good eating road. Have been pity eating recently due to a mc.

But onwards and upwards!

SparkyTGD · 04/10/2013 16:58

11 st 4 today Grin

welcome cookie but you're going to have to change your name! We mustn't think of cookies...

tea we have a takeaway with wine every weekend and I'm still losing because its what I'm eating (or not eating) every day that is helping.

I used to always have a filled baguette/Panini for lunch and often a scone with coffee in the afternoon. I now have soup & bread most days for lunch and only snack on fruit. Haven't really changed the evening meals. And so far (about 3-4weeks later) its definitely working.
