That would be me Sad.

I have weighed in this morning at 12 2, my heaviest EVER. I have hovered around 11 10 for over a year, not doing anything about it. This morning I could actually cry, I would if the dcs were not here.

In the grand scheme of things I know this isn't the end of the world but dear god I'm feeling every pounds of it today. I am hoping that by starting this I can make myself accountable and achieve better health, knees and back are bad. I am away shortly and need to make good choices, don't want fad diet, just sensible eating and exercise. I'm just rambling now but needed to get this down.

I suppose. And I've always carried weight relatively well. And I beat the gym bully in a 10km race the other day by 12 minutes! :-)

Thanks for the welcome. I am a failed gym bunny, going to take work to get my fitness back. long work day and I resisted biscuits. Just after I posted last night dh came to me with a magnum and I refused Shock. Trying to get a balance so I don't crash and burn!

Resisting can be hard. I'm currently resisting the twirl I know is in the cupboard. Or the Crunchie. Or the Kinder bars.

I failed spectacularly last night, food, wine and sweets, sweets for goodness sake.....this is why I am this size. Today's another day......

Welcome tibni
I'm the heaviest out of all of us so you lot can stop moaning ;)
Terrible weekend my little dd very poorly with flu ended up in hosp sat night- she's a little better now but still off and I've got it too. So whist I'm not eating much I'm drinking endless sugary tea and living on toast and biscuits. Start again next week when hopefully dd is better.
Keep going you guys wish I could resist temptation too need tips

Well I hope this will cure me of my scale obsession......woke up at 2am, had a wee, couldn't get back to sleep so went and weighed myself (I know, I know). At 2am I was 11 9 (same as last week so no loss). Got up at 6, went to the loo, weighed myself....11 11 Confused. So there we are, in four hours of sleep, I gained 2lbs, who knew!!!.

As I said, I was/am obsessed with those damn little digital numbers....have decided to put them in the boot of the car and hope I forget about them (unlikely but will stop me weighing at stupid times of the night).

Sorry for Friday morning ramble, hope all is well with everyone.

It's too tempting to keep jumping on the scales though isn't if?!
I'm going to try not to weigh myself until next Friday shall we all do a weigh in together?
Even with all the tea and biscuits Im down 2 am 13.8 which is huge compared to the rest of you!
Really going to try next week and walk everyday- and harder still no biscuits!!
Want to lose 1.5 pounds by fri

I had a naughty one too - Indian takeaway - I didn't have a huge portion though so that's progress.

Not entirely sure the scales were right this morning but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. It makes it just over a stone now in the month since I got back into being healthy. Getting back into running seems to have been the key Grin

Hi, can I join you?

I've been looking at the weight loss threads, saw the the half stone by Halloween but I have more like 2 stone to lose Sad (obviously not by Halloween tho, that would be a bit OTT Grin).

I stepped on the scales about a year ago and saw that my weight had crept to 12 stone Shock I was always about 10 stone pre DS.

I've started to cut down this week, my DP has done a very successful weight loss for health reasons & I hadn't really followed suit, so am using some of his tips.

He usually has normal breakfast like porridge, then very light lunch so eg soup & slice of brown bread then normal evening meal that we have always eaten, only snacking on fruit.

I've done this for about a week and feel slimmer already, less bloated Grin

ps I'm 5ft 6 and about 11 stone 10.

wishful I'm aiming for 2lbs a week (obviously didn't happen this week tho). I didn't weigh myself today Grin. A Friday weigh in is good for me.

englishteacher A stone! A stone! A whole bloomin' 14lbs!!!! FANTASTIC...I am soooooo Envy.

Welcome to Sparkly. I am the same weight as you but shorter Grin.

My triumph, in a way, this week was that I forgot to buy myself a self-loathing crap ready meal yesterday, so I had chicken salad!

Welcome and thanks sparky my dd is all better and back to her usual noisy self now thankfully :)
I'm going to really have to cut out the biscuits and in basically living off porridge and buttery toast in the day so the toast needs to be replaced by something better

Mrs I don't have scales any more, my friend borrowed them to weigh her luggage and they didn't survive. However when I went to the gym Friday I was down 6llb Grin. Very aware it is week 1 and I will not get another big loss like that but getting below the 11stone mark seems a possibility. I got on the scales pre and post work out and was half pound up at the end despite sweating buckets, obviously because of all the water I had drank. Weight and scales do fluctuate. I will be happy if I stop stretching my clothes! I refuse to buy the size up.

Welcome sparky - have to say this thread appealed because everyone wasn't starting at my target weight with the intent of losing 2 stone! Realistically I am never going to be 8.5st and to be honest at 5 8 would look ill if I was.

Wishful buttery toast is my weakness and default comfort / ease food. I find I will make nice meals for others but not bother if it is just me - and that has to stop.

englishteacher - a stone, wow, that really gives me hope.

tibni Grin to everyone starting at your target weight. I would also look skeletal at below 9 stone.

That reminds me of a Sarah Millican sketch where she mentions watching a celeb exercise video and she says that her goal weight would be the persons 'before' weight, eg 10 stone ish Grin

Bananas Wishing, I know they aren't the 'lightest' fruit you could have but they're good for hunger pangs (and better for you than buttery toast).

missfiddymont are you me?! I hit 12 stone 5 last week, logged into mfp and my last recorded weight was 10.4- I thought that was fat! Blush

Have been following the 17 day diet since Tuesday and lost a few pounds, currently 11.11.

wails I used to be 8 stone!

I blame a year of utter shite at work but I just got a new job so no more excuses!

I'd like to join the weigh in Friday if I'm allowed to!

Looks like I'm now down 20 lbs since coming back from Africa. But that's 20lb in 6 weeks so I'm not trusting our electronic scales. They were a bit haywire this morning and I had to get on them 8 times to get the same reading 3 times!
It ends up making just under 12 stone again. Don't know whether to be happy or concerned about the weight loss.

wishful Grin but I'm still sneaky weighing as well Blush.

english 20lbs Shock[roundofapplause]. In all honesty, if that was me I would be pleased, more than pleased Grin.

Hoping my sneaky weigh in figure this morning "holds" til Friday [fingerscrossed].
