30 Day Shred - DVD just arrived ... anyone else about to start?!

Lovethesea · 22/06/2013 10:58

So, after all I've read, the DVD and the weights have arrived....

Later today I plan to begin.

In 30 days I will be toned, have lost this extra stone, feel awake instead of in need of a nap all the time ... etc etc etc.

Right now just getting through the first one would be a victory! Anyone else desperate and mad enough to be starting this....

Good luck for tomorrow hairy!

Is anyone else using the videos from YouTube? Level 3 has been deleted.. Confused

oolaroola · 16/07/2013 17:12

Hi all, can I join too? Just did level 1 day 1 too. It wasn't sooo bad, but am wondering how my legs are gonna feel tomorrow.
Is level 2 harder? Keep hearing about the infamous plank - sounds a bit scary.

GoodtoBetter · 16/07/2013 18:40

feeling better after a nap so will be shredding later.
I (illegally, with torrentz) downloaded the 3 levels and have it on my pendrive.

smelmafingers · 16/07/2013 19:25

I'm to frightened to look at the higher levels! Did L1 d2 today. Managed a grand total of 4push-ups Grin and used my 5lb weights. Ouch. Would be nice to have slightly lighter ones, and tins seem a bit too light for me.

Will definitely need to do more stretches tomorrow!

smelmafingers · 16/07/2013 19:28

Plank! Shock

oolaroola · 16/07/2013 20:08

It's given me a real boost today, feeling great! Roll on tomorrow, although my legs are probably gonna hurt.

SneezySnatcher · 16/07/2013 20:22

Hello. Can I join? Just done L1D6 and finding it easier every day. Considering moving on to L2 but terrified! I'm shredding every day plus doing C25K every other day. Have a 3yo DD and a 3mo DS so I'm exercising in the evenings when they are asleep. I use my run as the warm up before I shred.

GoodtoBetter · 16/07/2013 21:01

Done L2D3 and OMFG plank anythings just kill me !

smelmafingers · 16/07/2013 21:17

Hi sneezy and oolarlora. Smile Are you planning on doing the shred every day? Or having break days?

I worked out this morning whilst ds1 was still asleep. Put ds2 in a playpen with a banana and some cheerios. He was happy enough. Don't feel i have the energy once they are in bed. Plus don't think i was fully awake till i has a few minutes into the video.

smelmafingers · 16/07/2013 21:21

Doesn't sound like its gonna get any easier goodtobetter!

Tinwe · 16/07/2013 21:37

Selma - I thought that too (about weights) on level 1... Then I did level 2 with the same tins because DH kept putting off rooting my weights out of the loft, grumble grumble and I was VERY glad I was just using tins! J says at one point "those shoulders should start to burn" and they do! Especially after much planking in level 2 as well. I'm going to stick with cans until I've done my 30 days then up the weights if I decide to carry on Smile

Tinwe · 16/07/2013 21:40

Selma - know what you mean about not having the energy end of the day but leaping out of bed crack of dawn to do it before the babies are up feels too torturous! I've talked DH into doing bath time each night and I sneak my 20ish minutes in then. Can't imagine finding time to fit in any more exercise, 20ish minutes is perfect for me Smile

GoodtoBetter · 16/07/2013 21:41

I've got 1kg weights or 2,5 kg and the 1kg are a bit light but the 2.5 kg are just too heavy and too big and unwieldy.

Tinwe · 16/07/2013 21:42

Goodto - I'm SOOOO with you on the planks! Nearly at day 21 and time to go to L3 but still can't quite complete level 2. My arms give up about 10 secs from the end of the last exercise Hmm

Tinwe · 16/07/2013 21:43

Welcome Sneezy - using a run as a warm up!!!! Shock

Tinwe · 16/07/2013 21:45

Hi Creepy - I got the DVD from eBay for less than a fiver. Does that mean you'll be staying on l2 then?

Tinwe · 16/07/2013 21:47

How's your arm Creepy? I've hurt my knee a little. Think it's trying to keep my knees over my toes as I bend as I seem to naturally go knock kneed as I squat Grin

Tinwe · 16/07/2013 21:49

Hairy - did counting help? I found the cardio v hard at first but quickly got easier whereas the strength bit seems the same or harder as time passes. Hopefully you'll feel the benefits soon Smile

Tinwe · 16/07/2013 21:50

Sorry for lots of little posts, reading and replying in my phone so scrolling isn't possible

GoodtoBetter · 16/07/2013 22:11

Yes, I agree about the cardio, I can pretty much do all the cardio even on L2 without stopping, but the first few days I couldn't do it at all. But the strength and the bastard planks and squat thrusts are awful.

Tinwe · 16/07/2013 22:52

I consider myself v strong, but the last V fly or whatever it's called is a killer!

CreepyCrawly · 17/07/2013 08:35

tinwe I got one from amazon and it should be here today, so I'll hopefully be joining you today. Dreading it though, my arm is real bad - I couldn't even pull the blind up this morning! I hope your knee isn't too bad.

I hate the 'v fly' too, there's too much to think about!

Tinwe · 17/07/2013 09:13

Shock Just realised today is first day of L3!

Tinwe · 17/07/2013 09:14

Aw Creepy, poor you! Are you sure you should carry on with such a painful injury?

HairyPotter · 17/07/2013 09:26

Hello all. I set my alarm for 7 this morning and slept straight through it. My cunning plan was to get up early and do it before anyone else was up. Fail!

I'm taking my dds to Glasgow in an hour for a MN meet up (Tramway, 11am for any one esle who fancies it). I'll need to try and send them out to play when we get back and lock the doors. I would be mortified if anyone saw me in full flight Blush

This will be L1D4 and my aim is to get through the cardio without stopping! Tin the counting did help but my legs just couldn't keep going. I did C25k last night and it felt a teeny tiny bit easier so here's hoping. Grin

Good luck Shredders!
