30 Day Shred - DVD just arrived ... anyone else about to start?!

So, after all I've read, the DVD and the weights have arrived....

Later today I plan to begin.

In 30 days I will be toned, have lost this extra stone, feel awake instead of in need of a nap all the time ... etc etc etc.

Right now just getting through the first one would be a victory! Anyone else desperate and mad enough to be starting this....

Well, my DVD and weights arrived today, so I was planning on starting tomorrow (want to do it first thing in the mornings). BUT my darling Labrador had other ideas, the doorbell rang as I was brushing him and he leapt up, whacking my face. I now have a black eye, swollen/ bruised nose and a banging headache. So I think I may leave starting it for a day or two til that settles down. Bloody dog.

Back in the game ladies!! Pushed myself hard on level 1 and felt good. doing better on the jump rope and star jumps. Hard work when it's 40ºC and no air con though Grin

When you say jump rope, does that mean you need a skipping rope for some of the exercises? Is there anything else you need? I just got weights. Thanks.

Hi Hercy, nothing else needed, you just act like you're skipping without a rope! Grin

Goodto see you're back Goodto (see what I did there?)

I found the star jumps easiest when I counted them (since we know the section only lasts 30secs).

Don't catch me up Tinwe! I'm hoping not to miss anymore haha. Just done day 4, and managed to all of it today. My knee is still hurting so following Anita for most of it, but did manage to do one set of Natalie level plank jacks.

Ab attack sounds interesting!

Hi Hercy, hope your face is alright. Pesky dogs! I have to shut mine in the kitchen when I'm shredding, he sits on my whole I'm trying to crunch otherwise Hmm

Ab Attack was hell but I actually enjoyed it! A 30 min class where the crazy woman leading it took us through slow crunches, fast crunches, planks, side planks, all manor of legs up crunching & twists, one leg up one leg down both legs up both legs down. With weights and without. Scissors and split lifts etc etc It was so fast and so hard, I am sure I looked like a dying fly for the majority of it but I did it and I felt amazing afterwards, can't wait till next week!!!

back to the shred today though, it will be my day 10 and last day of level one. The kids seem to be taking a keen interest in what day I am upto, who I am following etc.

Ha! "A dying fly", that image will come back to me on my next abs section! Earlier on in the thread someone mentioned a prancing pony (re butt kicks) and its so apt - I feel really silly doing them now! Grin

Actually Nacho I'm impressed. I did a military style workout once when I thought I was quite fit and really hurt myself! There were loads of proper full sit ups, not crunches, in pairs against each other and the next day I seriously couldn't straighten up! I had to walk around in agony looking a right berk with a hot water bottle pressed against my belly for 2 whole working days Confused

Oh no twine I bet that wasn't fun. I am surprised I wasn't like that today actually. I have got a bit of tightness but can walk.

Definitely a dying fly, I am surprised I didn't knee myself in the face tbh!

Yikes tinwe. Also yikes at an attack!

Day 5 today and definitely easier. I can do it all now, apart from oblique twists, and followed Natalie for most of it today.

Hi nacho. I'm feeling better now, thanks. I might give level 2 a go as I've done 10 days on level one. I am much better at L1 but not lost any weight and don't think I look any different so might be good to work a bit harder and work different muscles. Hasn't made a dent in my bingo wings or belly, which was kind of my motivation. Sad

Day 15 today! Midway Grin Struggling with level 2 so following Anita for some and sticking with my own exercise for the last circuit abs section. Just don't have the strength in my arms!

Goodto- I measured myself a couple of days ago and hadn't changed at all so felt a bit like you. On thinking about it a bit more though I decided that my muscles were shaping up and I was getting fitter (as I can tell through the shape of my body during an exercise such as a push up and through my improved endurance) but it just wasn't easily visible through my fat! I have a couple of stone to lose which is spread all over so seeing muscle shape change is a bit like finding a toy under a duvet, you can't really tell what it is! It takes a LOT of exercise to lose significant weight so I can't expect Shred alone to do that for me, I'll need to watch my food intake too and hopefully as the weight comes off I'll be a good toned shape underneath Grin

I had the day off yesterday too, went to the gym and it was just too hot to be bothered doing the dvd too.

Been eating so much crap lately too.

Well done everyone who's still going!

twine I follow Anita too, the plank jumps are too much for my knees, they are creaking and clicking already!

Legs ache and I'm knackered. Hope I'm not getting what DD has (diarrhoea and a temperature). I should shred but I'm not going to.

If your poorly give yourself chance to recover. I really couldn't be bothered tonight and only did a half assed job, then ate two cornettos. I have been having a period for 11 days now though so feeling sorry for myself.
