Welcome to thread 12 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting in your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer clothes!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry ~ NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get into a smaller size for summer, just think how we could look for next Christmas!

OH and there was a test with ice cream which I didn't quite understand (I got distracted by bedtimes)

Eat the same amount in small portions over half an hour and it fills you up. Eating all of it in 5 minutes doesn't. Suppose it fits with Pauling.

KeepTheFaithBaby · 19/07/2013 09:46

Sounds very interesting BBB. Which channel please?

ppeatfruit · 19/07/2013 11:10

Veryberry I've got that effing bug!! I thought it was some mouldy raspsberries but I threw up last night (so unlike me) and have a high temp. and bad headache how come I came into contact with your DCs?? Does it last long? I made myself get up and face the kichen after DH has been messing it up since last night (when I started feeling terrible Grin).

Rulesgirl · 19/07/2013 11:15

No ,no spa but I do have a huge rainwater tub with a hose attached which I am spraying myself during my workout ......ahhhhh.....my god its delightful when the heat is on. I am pleased with myself that I am sticking to my workouts more these last couple of weeks. My aim is to tone up all my muscles so that I don't get droopy old lady body cause when you start to enter menopause your muscles all start to lose tone and I don't want that and also muscle burns more fat even when at rest so again this helps with my muscle tone even when In not exercising.
That program sounds interesting BB. I would probably say that the chicken and mayo is the most filling for longest though because fats combined with protein give the most satisfaction to the mouth and with regards to filling you up.
Soup has always been a complete meal to me even without the bread roll so that is how I have it, as a meal.
With regards to getting bored with having the same foods.....was that seen as a diet tip then cause it does go against PM doesn't it?

Rulesgirl · 19/07/2013 11:18

Another one here with veryberry s childrens bug.....started last night feeling sick. Havnt thrown up but have headcold type symptoms and sinus pain.

Rulesgirl · 19/07/2013 11:21

Another hot hot hot day already. Whats it like in your part of France pp Grin

ppeatfruit · 19/07/2013 11:24

The rainwater spa and the man in the corner sound quite FAB Rules!! BTW I use my acupressure exes to stop the droop they work well too!

Rulesgirl · 19/07/2013 11:26

Do you do face exercises too pp. Ive started those and they are quite amazing and reversing any slight falling faceness.

ppeatfruit · 19/07/2013 11:32

Yes I do facial massage and neck they're good, I use essential oils too and it all combines to work well. I've got to go and put my legs up I'm lacking energy 'cos of the bug!

Rulesgirl · 19/07/2013 11:40

I do those facial contortion exercise by that woman who did a book about them years and years ago . I am surprised that women get facelift and botox when you can lift the face muscles yourself the same as the body . Go put your lets up then. Im still in bed.

veryberrybug · 19/07/2013 12:25

heehee cheers BBB & rules yep i was LOLing at "how many hills can there be?" too Grin
i can totally relate to the heat=no appetite equation, & then suddenly starving when it cools down. am experiencing the very same. it felt funny, despite having done that in france, that was abroad & everything was different there so it didn't phase me. but to experience that here in bonny scotland - just seems weird not to have food thoughts pervading everything (i know that had stopped a bit after starting Pauling, but i mean generally that's been the case over the last 7 fat years!)

BigBoobiedBertha · 19/07/2013 14:28

. Whats wirh you sll being ill? Are you all contagious? It would seem to give a whole new meaning to 'computer virus' if we're all carching things from one snother now when our only contact is over the net? Shock

Hope you all feel better soon.

The programme I was talking about was on BBC 1. I said the name further down but can't scroll v essily as I sm on my phone. It was featured on the bbc home page earlierbut don't know if is still there.

Will comment further on the bored thing later when I have a decent keyboard! I think it is in keeping with this WOE but to hard to type on this with no specs and tiny buttons.

veryberrybug · 19/07/2013 14:49

awnaw, sorry to hear you're feeling ill & crappio rules & pp (there was another whole page of messages i hadny read before i replied earlier) oh no i think my girls may have single-handedly wafted the germs across the continent fe france, back via ferry to hull & periodically getting out to splutter some more viroids out at various service stations up the country sorry... or is it really the compooter cursed machine after all as BBB said? the time frame for both my DDs was first & second nights horrendous (waking up crying in pain), the first & second days no as bad as nights but mostly horizontal. thereafter painkillers became less frequent & giggles reappeared intermittently, after a week DD1 is back up to full strength (claiming boredom so must be ok!) but TBH she's seemed ok last few days, with the odd moment. hope youse recover swiftly! my head feels a bit funny today so i'm gubbing vit C etc in hopes of damage limitation. or i'll cook the bastard bugs alive in the sun! yes!! that's why you get a fever if it makes you feel any better, it's your body trying to bake the bastard invaders! Wink

interesting food info BBB, nice to have what i knew about protein & fats & eating speed/portion sizes validated (if the beeb said it, it must be true!) i always feel more satisfied if i've had 2 small sandwiches rather than one big one. also interesting new info about nuts. you are what you eat: anyone for a cashew? Grin

BigBoobiedBertha · 19/07/2013 14:57

You calling us nuts, VeryBerry? Grin

Rulesgirl · 19/07/2013 15:43

Im on the echinaichea very......I know its not spelt right...sorry ...cba!!
BBB ha ha that was funny....made me laugh you in your protective suit.

KeepTheFaithBaby · 19/07/2013 17:56

Thanks BBB I watched it on iplayer. I certainly found the low carb/high protein diet easier when I used nuts in my snacks. Only problem is I only really like pistachios! Takes a bit of effort to get to them too so it seems rewarding!

Sorry for those who are sick. Must be vile in this heat. Hope you feel better soon.

Rulesgirl · 19/07/2013 18:24

I too tried the low carb and it's great for IBS isn't it......no farting whatsoever Wink but i eventually ate bread cause I love it and cake etc etc etc

veryberrybug · 19/07/2013 19:13

BBB i bet you've got special pockets sewn into the lining of your hazmat just for your nuts supply Grin heheheh well i only say these things cos that's what i'm thinking of too Wink

hurrah i remembered to be very mindful of my lunch (mmm smoked mackerel & philly on a GF seedy bap with salad) & was actually hungry by ice-cream o'clock, but we'll have to wait & see how mindful my spelt-based pizza goes as it's now past gin/rum o'clock (heehee partly keeping the holiday alive & partly medicinal as my head's no gone really dire sore but no quite right either!?!)

veryberrybug · 19/07/2013 19:16

likewise the low-carb high protein was my curves diet of choice, with aforementioned marmite cashews as snack, & likewise i never farted 'til i ate cake again!! LOL never put me off cake though Grin

Rulesgirl · 19/07/2013 21:28

I actually love not needing to fart....nothing worse than lying in bed holding it in all night or having to run to bathroom to let one go....lol....tmi maybe.....Blush Hmm

Rulesgirl · 19/07/2013 22:35

Out of curiosity very...what was it about eating a low-carb diet that you couldn't maintain .....if no one minds me asking ?

veryberrybug · 20/07/2013 01:14

LOL my poor DP i just let 'em go Grin no gonnae poison myself by reabsorbing that!... i found anxiety & carbs (well wheat specifically) make me pump sulphur (sorry TMI!) when i remember to do daily relaxation & latterly ditched wheat suddenly my digestive tract a lot happier.

not being funny rules but it was the lack of carbs i couldny stick in the low-carb high-protein diet! well probably the lack of calories too: 1200/day for a week then 1500/day for 3 weeks. then 2,500/day but by then i was always ready to binge Shock i've always been a real bread products girl: my fave confections have always been croissants, danish pastries, cakes, éclairs. & most of all, i've always loved a sandwich - total ambrosia, ie. food of the gods to me!! DP has always been a tatties & pasta guy with intermittent bread & he recommended a macaroni/lasagne pie for lunch for a wee change... i've never felt so robbed!! if you cany put it on a piece it's no worth having!! (in my book) during the diet the meat consoled me (complete carnivore also) but now i feel i've got the balance with plenty meat on an open sandwich with plenty salad. it feels like i've taken the best bits (for me) fe high-protein low-carb but done them in a way i enjoy without feelin robbed. ie. eating what i want. the low-carbing showed me i don't have to have loads of bread to enjoy: a bit is enough (or when i'm pre-menstrual a lot is more like it!) & meat does keep me satiated. recently i teally fancied beef for tea but everyone else wanted macaroni cheese so i pleased the masses... & ended up eating ham sandwiches & ham rolled up with goats' cheese in all night as i just wasny satisfied... PM? QED. Wink

Rulesgirl · 20/07/2013 07:15

I just love the way you write like you talk, sooo descriptive and enjoyable. Grin

ppeatfruit · 20/07/2013 08:18

Yeah rules Agree about the way very writes! I'm necking echinacea too and garlic. fresh lemon, bit of honey smoothies (it kills the virus). I'm almost back to normal today but a bit 'delicate' IFYSWIM. BUT and it's an ill wind etc. me belly's gone down I feel hungry but feel full after 2 mouthfuls!! (After what I said upthread Grin.

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 20/07/2013 08:58

Hey ladies just checking in. No heat wave for us anymore here in the north east, high of just 17, but we live by the sea so probably be even cooler thanks to the breeze off the North Sea. Was loving the sunshine and lack of appetite too, it really is grim up north! Hope you're all on the mend now and not suffering too much in the heat
