Lego NYC! Envy DH and I used to go every year for a long "dirty weekend" Grin but this year all our £££ are being thrown into our house, trying to get it nice.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 25/06/2013 20:22

Gooooooo Lizzy ... I like to imagine you're that lady off of the terminator

Well done on the sizing SDP .... I think I'll bung me frock into the post as it's taking up valuable space in my wardrobe and I think you're both about the same size now.

And the 2lb loss Buzzy - that's a great loss.

And Lego NYC ..... cocktails, shopping, wafting around the different districts, having coffee on 5th Ave with a Shock face. I love, love, love that city.

We managed to get to Nero's for our romantic lunch. Sadly, we didn't plan well enough on the time and the location for my poor DH and his crutches. It was lovely though. There were no children. I didn't have to cook. There was coffee. There was cake. Praline and Ganache muffin. A lovely cake that would be even better home baked. I may find a recipe for one on Pinterest.

I can't believe I lived my life without Pinterest. I am the biggest fan in the whole world. What I want now is to be able to merge Pinterest, FB and instagram into one lovely collection of information and I will be happy as a pig in shite.

Fasting again tomorrow Sad but I am resolved to do better this time.

BsshBossh · 25/06/2013 20:30

SDP have you seen the various no snacking links I've posted on the 5:2 threads? Very interesting... Latest one is here:
t.today.com/health/two-meals-day-may-be-better-weight-loss-grazing-6C10423982

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 25/06/2013 21:07

Bssh I will lurk around the fasting threads a little more. It's funny as I never even knew about fasting until I came on here, then thought it would not be for me. Admittedly I have found the last few weeks tough on my fast day but I have done it. It seems a natural progression on non fast days to switch to 2 meals and know after lunch I can go through until breakfast next day. Weekends are a different matter as we are all home and have dinner together, I need to look at those days but if I'm sticking to this all week with my fast days there has to be room to move at the weekend.

For the first time ever I can actually see me getting to goal and being able to maintain when I get there. With fasting its like someone has turned on the light and I finally get how to sort out my body.

Aww tea, if you can bear to part with the object of delight I would be over the moon . Luff you lots ChiefGrin

Well dh is off to the Dr with the alien toe. He won't let me photograph to show you perhaps because I told him you all had no sympathy for him, but I will fill you in on all the details tomorrow. He announced earlier that if its cut off I might have to drive him to work. I hope not, it's a 40 mile round trip plus it's very close to the Glastonbury festival site which means hours sat in traffic. A bit of pain relief and he will be fine I'm sure!

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 25/06/2013 21:13

Sorry! I posted too soon...

lizzy I will be going to Street soon where there is a Gap. I usually just buy dd things there as I'm always convinced they are a skinny shop. If I can avoid the sales assistants asking me if they can help I will try some trousers on.

Where is double, she hasn't been on in a few days.

Lizzylou · 25/06/2013 21:45

I am soooo intrigued by alien toe!
We need to seeee Grin

Metafit and a swim done, feel very good. Am hardly The Terminator Tea, but I did rope in a teenager who works at our place during Uni holidays to come to Metafit as well and she has just called me a fitness machine Blush Grin
She has just spent 3mths eating pizza and drinking nonstop though Envy

If I haven't lost even one measly bastarding lb I will throw the scales out of the window and attempt DIY liposuction with the Dyson.

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 25/06/2013 21:50

Lego very jealous of NYC! Have a fab time - walking may offset some of the cals!

Lizzy Metafit sounds Shock - you must be well 'ard! I'm always in awe of those who can manage to drag themselves to things like that. Late night swimming is comparatively easy as I can't invent child-related excuses not to go, DH is always back in time and it just generally works well. I'm so lazy that I faff about pretending not to notice the time until "suddenly" it's "accidentally" too late to go otherwise Wink

Lego down a size, swit swoo! (Traumatic memories of being in a rammed Gap changing room while the assistant yelled outside "Can I get you a BIGGER SIZE, Madam? Are you SURE you don't want to try a BIGGER ONE?"

Tea awww for romantic lunch Smile

I've had a bad day but went out for a run to try and claw some cals back. First 5 mins were a torment especially as I passed our neighbours 20 secs after leaving our drive and felt obliged to put a good turn of speed on until I reached the corner Grin Tea I shall also be fasting tomorrow [manly arm punch emoticon]

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 25/06/2013 21:54

Argh, I meant well done SDP for going down a size and getting into a 14 Blush

And Lizzy you machine you!

dinkydoos · 25/06/2013 21:58

Evening all!
lizzy I have just had pretty much a month off the gym due to crazy working month for me and DP ( we in same job) and I have lost more this month than in any previous one where I was gyming 3/4 times per week! However I feel flabby! Honestly it's not all about the scales, but please let me know if the dyson liposuction experiment is a success!
lego my weight loss twin, where are you now, think I'm around 10.3 which is great for me. V jealous re NYC , really really love it there
sdp totally agree with fasting being like a light turned on, can't see me ever going off it... But I am a bit of a fast bore I fear Grin
tea I did make a cake the other week, a bit inspired by Pinterest. 'twas a nigella Venetian carrot cake and was v nice. Quite literally about the fifth cake I have made in my 45 30 years on this planet. My kids want a cake making mum, but I am simply just not restrained enough to have them in house ( though I dream of having tupperwares with greaseproof wrapped slabs of delight inside) Grin

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 25/06/2013 22:21

Yes lizzy let us know how the Dyson lipo works, my thighs need serious measures!

And sorry lego as it was you who said about Gap. I get so confused in my old age. Haven't even had a glass of anything to excuse myself.

I am so impressed with you guys and your Metafit, swimming, running, weights. I really am going to find something I like doing. My old gym has sent me a free weeks pass as they have done a big refurb. I should go as I always enjoyed it, plus they had some good classes. I am however very good at excuses and like buzzy says, faff around. I've got to do it haven't I?

DoubleMum · 26/06/2013 08:11

Gosh I've forgotten everything I meant to say about your exploits. Well done on new dress sizes, eating praline cake, metafitting. Hope the alien toe is soon no more. Well not the whole toe, just the bit that's been taken over by aliens. Not the most intelligent aliens, presumably.
The bunnies must be better, they are getting up to all kinds of mischief. Today is very stressful as it's a First Communion celebration thingy and I had to recreate the special hairstyle without my mum or sister here. I don't do hair generally, and the pressure from DD was so intense I almost passed out. Yesterday was DS's induction day at secondary school and luckily it passed without incident despite me spending the whole day worrying about him.
I have been appalling and may have to rescind my Chiefly membership. Revels and haribo and maltesers have passed my lips in astonishing quantities. Am not doing v well at the moment. Kick my bottom please.

OP posts:
TeaMakesItAllPossible · 26/06/2013 08:52

Gah Double I feel your pain about hair. I often wonder were all other girls invited to special seminars and I didn't get the invite because I was up a tree or picking my scab! It's bad enough having responsibility for one's own tresses but your precious DD on such an important day Shock. I think revels and haribo were required.

Glad DS's day went well though.

What I would say is good about Chiefing is the ability to get back on it after a couple of days/weeks/months of straying from the path. I like Chiefing because it isn't a programme - it's real life with fewer calories sometimes and moving more others. And sometimes we go back to how it was but the bus stops for us again when we want to get on. And arse kicking. Come on Doubs - today put on the fitbit

Glad the bunnies are better Smile

DoubleMum · 26/06/2013 12:16

I've still had the Fitbit on every day , in fact yesterday I got emailed some kind of certificate for going over a certain number of steps. I did wonder if I got sent it by mistake.

OP posts:
TeaMakesItAllPossible · 26/06/2013 12:26

That's great. See, you are still chiefing away ..... and if you want me to look after your haribos I can do that.

DoubleMum · 26/06/2013 13:32

Oi! Hands off my Haribos! Actually there are no more haribos except in my tummy.

OP posts:
buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 26/06/2013 16:38

I wouldn't be interested in looking after your Haribo because they're not veggie so I couldn't scoff 'em but do you need anyone to look after your Revels? I'm fasting today so obviously they'd be in no danger from me slavers

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 26/06/2013 17:15

Urghh to Haribo, vile little gummy things. I must be among the few who really do not like them. Chocolate any day for me!

Had a good fast today. Feeling stuffed now I have had dinner (early I know but the kids eat at this time, early dinner = early bed).

Dh did not have the alien chopped off. The Dr took one look and said he didn't want to do it as it is too big! He said he hadn't seen anything like it so dh has to wait for a call to get him into a special extra terrestrial clinic. Apparently it will take about 20 minutes of cutting then a few stitches. He can't have it done before our holiday incase of alien revolution it gets infected. The dr said it wasn't a tumour but no mention of little green men living in his foot so it hasn't been ruled out yet. Grin

DoubleMum · 26/06/2013 18:08

Wow, freaky alien toe tales! It's a short hop from toe infestation to world domination. I might have a little sneaky bit of sympathy for DH at the 20 minutes of cutting bit. That sounds a bit yuk. If he starts to turn green before that point you'll know you need to get Will Smith quite urgently.

And sorry the revels are not available either. Bloody cinema promotion. There weren't any sweets in the house before that.

OP posts:
BsshBossh · 26/06/2013 18:47

So, my first week back on the "weightloss train" and it's TOM week and I've not not been able to go to the gym due to head-down-and-concentrate-all-hours-of-the-day work. Have been good with my eating but I don't hold out a lot of hope for Friday's weigh in. Am tempted to skip it but I won't I hope.

Lizzylou · 26/06/2013 20:21

Omg SPD! 20 mins??Shock

Have you eaten the orange cream revels Double? I will even take the toffee ones?

Spinning done, had a stand in instructor who was fab. Camp as Christmas, very encouraging but made weird sex noises when we had the resistance high. Very off putting as he was wearing a headset thingy Grin

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 26/06/2013 21:33

Terrible fast day! DH said he thought we needed to de-nig the kids. I'd been scratching too. Went and spent FIFTY QUID on 3 bottles of Hedrin (DD1 and I have long thick hair and I didn't know how much we needed - tbf we only used a bottle and a bit). Coated the kids. They screamed and ran around the bathroom. Then slipped around the bathroom. Then writhed out of my grasp like little greased piglets. They screamed some more.

Then I put some on me. It was vile. Then I wet-combed the DDs. No nits. Then I wet-combed myself. No nits. Then I wet-combed DH. No nits. The children were by this time exhausted, greasy and whiny. Dawned on me I had spent loads and ruined the evening for nowt. Put the DDs to bed and hurled myself at the cooking choc and Savoiardi biscuits.

Fast day ruined, still just about within MFP daily goal though. Will do it again tomorrow!

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 26/06/2013 21:35

Haha! Lizzy's sex noises spinning instructor is cheering me up though Grin

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 26/06/2013 22:02

Nit nightmare buzzy!

At least you didn't blow the days calories, plus none of you has nits. Won't mention the £50 however.

When I was in Primary school (and in the day of the nit nurse), I used to be very upset that I wasn't one of the kids who got a "present" after the nurse had been. I think it was 2 bottles of stuff, one pink and one yellow in a brown paper bag. I never connected the nit nurse to the "present"!

lizzy I would die during a spinning class. I have been leaving the gym while a class was on and it sounded brutal. Grin at your instructor!

LaundryLegoLunch · 27/06/2013 09:11

dinky I seem to be firmly stuck at 10.5 - it's been nearly 3 weeks now. It's extra annoying as 10.4 is my healthy bmi which I've hit once but keep going over. In the last 10 days I've varied from 10.4 to 10.10. It's ridiculous. And I'm eating quite strictly this week to try to get rid of a decent amount so I can scoff next week. I'm not pre or post-menstrual, I do not get it. But I'm trying to resist the urge to fall into a self-pitying binge which is what I would have done pre-chiefs.

Anyhoo, buzzy what a pain! If it helps I was once told that I had nits. By a hairdresser. Midway through a haircut. And I was childless then. Confused

Lizzylou · 27/06/2013 09:30

Ugh to nits, Buzzy! Or not nits.

It's weekend eve for me here, which is a good thing. Work has been rather manic.

No movement on scales yet, keeping the faith for something tomorrow. Or else it'll have to be the dyson method.
