I've just been to look at Randall's MFP. Oh. My. Word.

I liked Saturday.

I need to work on my Randalling.

RandallPinkFloyd · 03/06/2013 18:36

Just caught up with the thread.

SPD I'm so sorry about your Grandad. It may well be the way most of us would choose to go but that doesn't make it any easier for those left behind.

Tiger hop back on the wagon, there's always a space!

Well done for getting straight back on it Tea, and glad your mum is on the mend.

Lizzy your machine-like skills are more than a match for some cheese & crackers!

Double have a chiefly hug, just take it one day at a time and do the best you can, that's all you can do.

RandallPinkFloyd · 03/06/2013 18:40

Massive x-post!

Yeah, Saturday was a bit major wasn't it Blush

We did a cheese tasting thing and I had to taste 22, yes that's 22, different types of cheese. It's safe to say I won't be eating cheese again for some time!

We had a full cooked breakfast too. Double Blush.

Bloody hell it was fun though!

DoubleMum · 03/06/2013 19:08

LOLing here at 22 types of cheese. Perhaps we should be calling you Wallace rather than Randall.
DH is OK, have been keeping him quite busy, and he went to see the GP today to get signed off for 2 weeks. I think that's more sick time than he's taken in his entire working career and obviously that's making him feel a bit weird and worried. I would be doing a lot better had I not made fresh cookies, so perhaps once those are gone I can get back to eating better.

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 03/06/2013 19:33

Glad dh has seen gp Double.
So sorry SPD.
22 types of cheese? Shock Have to say that sounds like heaven Randall!
Tea, you're so good getting back on it!

Have ran 40mins non stop tonight, really didn't vwant to go, but promised myself I could just do a mini-run. I amazed myself by enjoying myself and finishing strong. Mind you I had a red sweaty face with my jaws open and panting like a guppy at the end.
Feeling rather knackered now!

RandallPinkFloyd · 03/06/2013 19:34

Seriously, it's a fucking lot of cheese!

I honestly thought my capacity for cheese was endless. Turns out it's actually 17 bites. It was like some sort of Man v Cheese challenge by the end!

Glad your DH has got some time off, hope it helps him. And stop baking cookies woman! Wink

DoubleMum · 03/06/2013 19:41

Yes I need to stop baking cookies but still have a bowl of cookie dough in the fridge! Perhaps I should freeze it, don't know why I didn't think of that before.
Sorry I missed your post SPD, sad to hear about your Grandad.

OP posts:
RandallPinkFloyd · 03/06/2013 19:45

I'll relieve you of the cookie dough, don't you worry. That's what friends are for!

DoubleMum · 03/06/2013 20:40

Maybe I should just put it in the garage.

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 03/06/2013 20:46

Garage you say, Double? Booze still there?

May be worth a trip then, I love raw cookie dough. And cake mix.

Aaargh! I am off to bed where there is no fridge Grin

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 03/06/2013 21:26

I'm not sure whether I'm being a drama llama but I think I might have done something bad to my ankle playing hockey this evening. I've had cocodomol x fecking lots and I can still feel a lot of pain in three places. And resting peas on the outside really hurts. I'm alternating at growling and laughing at how pathetic I am!

Which is not quite as interesting as 22 types of cheese. So what were your favourites? I'm always on the look out for a new cheese. I had mexicana cheese from Sainsbury today and it was lush.

Double I'll hobble over to your garage for cookie dough too - hell I'll bring gin if the booze has gone.Wink

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 03/06/2013 22:05

tea sounds like a trip to the dr tomorrow. Hope it's nothing too serious. That confirms my thoughts on how dangerous hockey is.

I am impressed with 22 types of cheese. When I was on a break from cheffing I worked for a cheese company which involved taking their cheeses to trade shows and tasting lots. I think the point was to sell the stuff and chat to everyone (that bit I was good at), but I spent far to much time eating the samples. After one particularly hard day of eating their very special vintage cheddar I spent the night in agony wondering if I could have my stomach pumped. I still do love a good cheese board though.

Fasted today, still not had dinner as I have spent the evening trying to sort out Ds who is having some issues at school. I now have a nice long list to take to my meeting with the year head tomorrow. I may just go to bed and hope for a really good weigh in tomorrow.

I am getting back on the 30 day shred wagon tomorrow. Someone please kick my ass if I don't do it. Remind me it's 6 weeks until my holiday and the lardy look is not cool!

RandallPinkFloyd · 03/06/2013 22:09

Blimey tea, I'd get that checked out if I were you. Ankles are easily damaged. Sounds nasty.

Impossible to chose a favourite cheese but of the ones I tried on Saturday either caws llyn, y fenni, or tintern.

Dear god, now I fancy some cheese. There really is no stopping me!

RandallPinkFloyd · 03/06/2013 22:13

Hell fire SPD, working for a cheese company would lead me to a very dark place.

Hope you're meeting goes ok tomorrow, sounds like you have a lot to discuss, hope it helps things for him.

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 03/06/2013 22:44

Thanks Randall dh thinks I'm being a little precious about ds, but he has finally told me the problems he is having at school and I want it sorted. It's not bullying in its worst form but its uncomfortable for him and he doesn't know how to deal with it. I have always said we will fight his corner so it's a bad job if I don't come through for him.

My cheese job didn't help my present weight situation. Grin

RandallPinkFloyd · 03/06/2013 23:19

I think you're absolutely right. He needs to know you're there to fight his corner with him, that's part of the job!

It's not like you're taking over and storming in whilst he cringes in the background. You've discuss it together and decided what you both think you should do.

I hope the school respond how you want them to.

Lizzylou · 04/06/2013 05:39

Tea, Randall/ Wallace is right, get to the docs/a&e!

SPD, good for you re: ds, hope it gets sorted. I have been doing some sticking up for Ds1 in past few days. Except it is against his younger brother aka diva/terrorist. Ds1 needed to know I had his back, you are so right.

Up far too early! Going to do some Pilates I think Confused

DoubleMum · 04/06/2013 08:10

Get thee to an x-ray machine Tea. Hope it's less painful this morning though.
Randall stop thinking about cheese.
SDP good luck with your meeting at school today. We had a bullying issue with DS this school year with a particularly troublesome boy who is unfortunately going to the same secondary school in September. Since I threatened police though (as it was repeated physical violence) nothing more has happened. Kids can be so nasty to each other.
I have put on for the 2nd week in a row so that's it, the cookies must stop and only the purest fruit and vegetables pass my lips. And tea, obviously.
I shall freeze aforementioned cookie dough. I'm afraid the garage is sadly almost booze-less now, just a bottle of Baileys in the fridge. There's still dumpling mix though if that's any good.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 04/06/2013 12:30

Good idea Double I find myself throwing out the last bit of any baking these days Hmm

How did the meeting go SDP?

I too will be avoiding Randalling this week. My ankle is swollen and bruised but I can put weight on it so no need for hospital just elevate and rest and ice pack for four days - if it's a sprain it will go down. So I shall have to avoid baking, cheese and wine otherwise all good work will be piled back on.

Can't believe no exercise. I shall be really fecking narky and mardy by the weekend. Especially as I'm day 3 into toilet training DS4 who has mastered getting to the toilet but not taking his pants/trousers down

I'm 2lbs up this week but as I cheesed and wined it and haven't really fasted for a week or two it's only to be expected. I think I have a surge of hormones behind my minera too if the signs over the last 8 days are to be believed.

Any ideas for exercise that doesn't involve an ankle?

LaundryLegoLunch · 04/06/2013 12:33

Hula hooping?
Archery?
Mime?

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 04/06/2013 13:08

Can you get to a swimming pool, you might need assistance to and from the pool....sure there would be a nice young man who could helpGrin

Perhaps some hand weights? Though I like the idea of archery!

The meeting was very good (and they had cake but I was a good Chief and passed on it). The boy who has been giving ds trouble has been pulled up on similar things before. His year head was confident it will stop now, plus there will be some discreet moving around in any classes they share. Since the new headmaster took over it seems that these issues are being dealt with quickly and he isn't scared to exclude students. At the very least it means that the teachers are aware of possible situations and ds will feel he can approach them if he has a problem. It sounds as if they have good procedures in place but we will see how it pans out. As it stands I am positive about it, will see what ds says when he gets home as his year head was having a meeting with him this afternoon.

I haven't shredded yet, been out in the garden with dd. have every intention before ds gets home. I lost a pound, a bit disappointed but its a loss. Really want a stone off by my holiday, perhaps that's a little hopeful. I would be happy with 10lb though.

Hope everyone is able to get out in the sun today, even if its just for a lunch break. It's lovely out there, might even get my very white legs out in a bitShock

Lizzylou · 04/06/2013 14:11

Oh that is good SDP, sounds like your DS is being taken seriously.

Tea, second the swimming idea. Lovely weather for it. Or the punching with weights out of Gillian DVDs? I have been doing Pilates with a stretchy band thing to strengthen my core, has helped with running and spinning (and I have gone down another notch on my belt today, despite scales not budging Hmm). This one. It really is sculpting me, not cardio, but toning and strengthening. Enjoyable as well, did 20minutes at 5.30am!

I have had a lovely salad again for lunch. I really do find it so much easier to eat healthily when it is sunny and warm.

DoubleMum · 04/06/2013 14:40

Yes, nice salad here too.

Glad the meeting went well SDP.
Lizzy, exercising at 5.30 IN THE MORNING.

It was only because I couldn't sleep Double! I didn't get up on purpose.
If I ever plan on that I never can drag my ass out of bed Grin

Step awaaaay from the cookie jar!!

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 04/06/2013 22:36

I have a bloody cankle! Literally. I can't tell where my ankle is and it has a long bruise all around it.

I shall be taking my cankle to A&E in the morning.
