Thanks Randall. Today has mainly been about cake. But I'm not actually over on cals as I haven't eaten anything else so far! Will see how DH is later.

OP posts:
RandallPinkFloyd · 29/05/2013 16:36

Then no harm - no foul!

Lizzylou · 29/05/2013 16:43

Randall speaks sense Double.
Hope DH is OK.

dinkydoos · 29/05/2013 22:50

Oh double have some more manly punches in arm.... Randall speaks good sense, it's quite good to keep control in one area that you can influence when rest of life is hard to control iyswim. I know it's early days for you and Dh in dealing with all this, so hope it all gets a bit easier soon ( unchiefly hug)
randall just how do you keep losing like this? Methinks you have a scalpel hidden somewhere and are hacking bits off in a random fashion!

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 30/05/2013 08:08

Double depression is a hard, hard illness to overcome. I think it can make the sufferer a bit selfish and it puts a huge amount of pressure on the family. Randall is proving herself to be the wise woman of the thread, she's right. Proper selfishness is required from you at this point .... looking after yourself first will allow you to help your DC and your DH. Think of it as the oxygen masks on a plane - putting your own on allows you to put others on. A walk away from it all will help too.

Mum is recovering brilliantly, thanks. She is a tough old bird.

Another day of Alton Towers for us. Have managed to get my toddler on the rapids and mine train Randall Grin so all is good.

Well done on the loss too Randall. Another week or two and your next milestone will have come and gone. Brill.

DoubleMum · 30/05/2013 10:45

The mine train is my lot's favourite Tea, not mine though I'm a scaredycat about roller coasters.
DH is being signed off work which is probably for the best at the moment. Shame he couldn't combine it with half term, LOL!
DS has had a last minute invite for 3 nights away with his friend at the seaside, which he's very excited about. I shall however spend 3 nights in paranoid worry as I was almost swept out to sea when I was a child and it's the one thing I'm funny about.

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 30/05/2013 20:38

Gawd, I haven't been to Alton Towers since a teen!
I suppose I may have to venture there. Only thing is, all my males are wusses and I am the only one who would go on anything.
Blood test done, fasted entirely for 24 hrs. Put on 3lbs? Wtf?...

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 30/05/2013 21:10

Oh Double at least he has space to get things on an even keel.

And Lizzy are you sure it's not a fluctuation peak? But easy on, easy off. When do you get your results? Well done on 24 hour fast.

I won't weigh myself until Saturday because I feel very bloated. There is no nice food in AT. All junk. Not even junk I'd like to eat. All tasteless. Boys have just requested two pieces of fruit for supper which says it all really Wink I feel about 7lbs heavier at the moment.

I got to spend the morning with the older boys so got on three big rides. I love em too Lizzy - sort of feel alive with adrenaline running through my veins. And we have a one day ticket each refunded because the new 14 loop roller coaster still hasn't opened so we will go back in the summer to try it out. Actually, there's a lot of things that are fun that aren't high adrenaline that they all enjoyed. Just take your own food.

Gosh, you dudes still have half term to come? We are almost done with it. And I am having a gin to celebrate.

Lizzylou · 30/05/2013 21:50

No, Tea, half term ends tomorrow for us.
Dh, the fucker with all the holidays, is at ils static in Yorkshire with boys. Will be there tomorrow. We are doing Morecambe bay walk on Saturday. Quite excited about that.

Not long now tea, keep the faith, hope your Mom is ok.

Lizzylou · 30/05/2013 21:51

Now I am thinking that it is your Dad tea, sorry!

Lizzylou · 30/05/2013 21:52

No, it's Mom! sorry am a bit brain fried.

dinkydoos · 30/05/2013 23:05

Hello mighty chiefs. I need to confess that I haven't been mfp ing. Why, I hear you ask? Well frankly I had 3 days where I ate loads and didn't enter it then just literally couldn't be arsed to catch up and put it all in. Tbh though have been not too bad and still 5:2 ing.
Anyway enough of that lizzy your gain is so not real! Just one of those weird things. Am waiting for your diagnosis as have same issues as you I think ( let's hope it's cos we have got too thin too quick as opposed to old lady syndrome). tea there's another thread at moment about enjoying half terms with kids whilst they still want to. Doesn't matter if you have gained, it's precious time. double your son won't go out to sea, but v lovely for him to be invited away I think. lego how's the mid 10's looking like?...
Night all you skinny chiefs ( ESP Randall, loser extraordinaire)

dinkydoos · 30/05/2013 23:09

Oh and meant to ask tiger whether the Poo trauma was well and truly behind you? Grin

RandallPinkFloyd · 31/05/2013 11:49

Well, that's me signing off for a weekend of chees and wine.

As always I shall log as accurately as possible but I can promise you all it won't be pretty!

I've done 3 fast days this week in preparation (yes, I really am expecting it to be that bad) and I'll do another 2 when I get back so hopefully that will minimise the damage.

Enjoy the lovely sunshine chiefs, see you on the other side Grin

TheTigerDidntComeToTea · 31/05/2013 15:52

Hi chiefs
I don't know where this week has gone - I'm exhausted!

Dinky - I have fallen off the mfp wagon too I think we need to just jump back on, leave the blank bits and start again - deal? And thanks (?) for asking about the poo, dd is absolutely fine, I'm still traumatised tho! just hoping that never happens again. Although perhaps if I hadn't had a stinking hangover at the time and hadn't been in my mum's bathroom maybe I would have coped a little better? But probably not. My worry is that it is linked to problems she's had since birth but its hard to tell for definite because I think its quite common anyway?

Randall - Enjoy your Randalling, can't wait to hear all about it!

Lizzy - Enjoy your weekend & the Morecambe Bay walk.

Tea - Hope your mum is better? And hope you had a great week with the boys? You're allowed time off for holidays etc, because you know you'll be back on track when you get home. No point stressing about it! We are all reformed characters now!!

Double - Hope you are ok? Randall spoke a lot of sense so I'll just agree with her. I haven't been on your side of the equation but I have been in your dh's place and I know it was hard for everyone else too. If I can be of any use/advice/shoulder etc let me know...

A quiet weekend here for us, building up to ds birthday (and another cake!) hope everyone has a good weekend!

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 31/05/2013 21:20

Checking in Chiefs!

It's been ages and I apologise. I've just caught up I think...well done to all losers, hope your mum is ok now tea and completely huge unmumsnetty hugs to double.

I have managed to lose the couple of pounds I piled on in London. I would have thought all the walking we did would have kept those pesky pounds off....walking in heels uses up more calories you would think wouldn't you. Perhaps it was the champagne and cocktails doing me no favours? Tea you will be glad to hear your sequinned top had a great time in the city, it was going to send you a postcard but was far too busy sparkling like a glitter ballGrin. Dh thought I was going to wear it as a dress (it barely covered my ass btw), think he had too much bubbly as well!

After those fab couple of days we got back and had a call to say dh grandad had passed away. So we have been up to Scotland to sit with Grandma and help where we could. I'm back home with the kids but dh is up there until Thursday, the funeral isn't until Wednesday. Ds really didn't want to be at the funeral, he has been very upset particularly for his Great Grandma. Dd is too young to understand. It's nice to be home. On the up side he passed quietly in his sleep at a grand old age.

Going to start logging on mfp again and 5:2 ing as its all gone a bit crazy the last couple of weeks. It's 7 weeks until holiday so really have to get on it again. What's the thoughts on 4:3? Just thinking it might be an idea until holiday, really want to be at the bottom end of 11 stone by then, maybe even top end of 10 stone. That would be something else!

Right going to try catching up on my sad RL stuff now...washing, ironing and tidying (how does the house get so messy when no one has been here?). What a Friday night hey? Rock and Roll Smile

dinkydoos · 31/05/2013 22:02

Just quick one as late. sdp Are you a regular taste, can't remember?? 4:3 quite hard I think compared to 5:2 to begin with. Would recommend 5:2 with maybe mini fast ( eat nowt al day bu normal meal at night) may be less bleak and more stackable to. If regular faster then a 36 hour zero fast pretty good for getting off plateuas. Let me know if want more info.
tiger yes, deal will get backin the mfp saddle if you will!

SylviaDaisyPouncer · 31/05/2013 22:43

Thanks dinky Smile

I've been doing 5:2 for about a month and find it fine. Thing is Monday and Thursday suit me but trying to throw in another day would mean a weekend day (a little too hard I think) as 2 consecutive days certainly doesn't appeal. 36 hour zero fast sounds like the way forward. I really feel like I need a big push to get some good loss in.

I've been a bit rubbish at logging on non fast days but should get into it to see what's happening over the week. I seem to be a slow loser, consistent but slow.

TheTigerDidntComeToTea · 01/06/2013 10:59

hi dinky, I've logged my breakfast on mfp, my weight hasn't changed so I've left it. Let's do it!!
morning to everyone else. Be back later!

Lizzylou · 02/06/2013 16:48

I too am now on it like Sonic!
Have been exercising like a bastard but not always watching the food/drink intake. That changes.
From tomorrow as we have brought back lots of cheese and biscuits Blush Grin

Bay walk was fab, if you ever get chance, heartily recommend. Have ran and weeded garden. Now the cheese is a calling. ...

RandallPinkFloyd · 03/06/2013 09:50

Forgive me chiefs for I have Randalled.

I logged as accurately as possible but fucktonne wasn't a portion size option when entering the cheese so I had to estimate.

Not looking forward to weigh-in Wednesday!

Lizzylou · 03/06/2013 11:05

Randall, seriously, it's getting boring now!
Come weigh day you'll have lost again Grin Envy

Am drinking water like it is going out of fashion today. Extra exercise during loo trips.

RandallPinkFloyd · 03/06/2013 11:31

Have you seen my MFP diary????

It ain't pretty Blush

If I've lost even 0.0001 of a lb I shall apologise profusely Grin

DoubleMum · 03/06/2013 15:10

I'm afraid I'm ONLY Randalling at the moment.

OP posts:
TeaMakesItAllPossible · 03/06/2013 17:02

Afternoon .... I am back in the land of being able to type on a keyboard rather than with my big fat finger. Half term is over. I have survived.

I weighed on the day I got back in the end ... 4 lbs on. I also failed miserably, on my second day back, to run further than 30 minutes so I was uber-grumpy. But 3lbs have gone thanks to fasting and on Saturday I ran 12km and felt pretty good - except I managed to velcro the skin off my upper left arm so I look like I have been spending an evening with a torturer on Game of Thrones. So I'm back to feeling in control.

So much so that I too have randalled like a bastard over the weekend. I have eaten the south-west's supply of cheese and wine. No PTA will be able to raise funds this term on account of my gorging.

But I did 7k this morning fast on the cross trainer and 20 mins of weights and this evening I shall be playing hockey again

SDP so glad the glitterball is getting to new places and doing new things. I have actually worn it as a frock with very thick and woolly tights but I didn't bend over the whole evening so mainly wore it with leggings or jeans. So sorry to hear about Grandad. That's so sad. I hope that he gets a send off that reflects his long life. And I hope your DH and DC are ok this next week.

Mum has had her stitches out and is much, much better thanks for asking.

Glad you had a lovely weekend Lizzy - I'll keep a note of Morecombe Bay Walk for our summer. We're thinking of spending a week in the NE after a week in the Lake District.

Double giz a hug Smile. How's half term going and how's DH?
