Just to give you a couple of weeks advanced warning, so you can think about it, plan for it, etc.

Hello everyone

DH and I are back and definitely in for next bootcamp. Quite excited. Lost a stone last time (all my remaining baby weight) I have maintained since, despite being quite naughty in terms of wine and toast (my weakness), plus pasta has crept back in because of its ease as a family meal. So I am quite excited to be doing bootcamp again. I'm already the lowest weight I've been since my mid-20s and I don't expect to lose a lot as I'm in normal weight range BUT my shape has definitely deteriorated since being back on the carbs, so my aim is to sort that out and maybe lose another 3 or 4 kg. DH lost a stone and a half, but has put the half back on. Still looking trim though! It's great going in to bootcamp and knowing that it is entirely doable and the food is yummy. I feel much less daunted by work lunches this time too.

Having not read the threads for quite a while I am absolutely DELIGHTED to hear about your weightloss black - that's utterly fab!

I don't weigh or count anything as, for me, that way madness and obsession lies. And the idea of Bootcamp is that you don't need to do this.

But, if it's your thing, be my guest! My only comment is that 16g is very low in terms of carbs, especially if you've been eating yoghurt - so I'd be worried that it means you haven't been eating enough veg/salad.

What have you eaten/drunk today?

Well, there would have been carbs in your sausages too, as well as in your mayonnaise so that would probably up your carb count.

I've found that it's easy to eat more yoghurt than you think you are, so it might be worth weighing out 50g just so that you can see how much it actually is!

I'm getting ready to start tomorrow but overdosing on carbs today. I feel a bit sick now!

Stocked up on some stuff today and will be clearing out fridge tomorrow. Need to menu plan I think.

NotMostPeople · 23/04/2013 22:54

BIWI do we think these are a good deal?

BIWI · 23/04/2013 22:59

They are a really useful product, NMP.

There's a recipe or two using them on the recipe thread as well.

They mainly go with Chinese/Thai/Asian recipes, but because of their texture (they are a bit tough) they can also be a reasonable substitute for pasta - I have used them to make a carbonara, for example.

Ok - have started. Can I post on here for support till everyone else gets going on Monday? Or would it be better on the sign up thread?

Have just had cheesy scrambled eggs with some ham for breakfast. Just having my second cup of tea before switching to water. Chicken and salad planned for lunch. Steak and a cabbage/broccoli stir fry for dinner.

Weighed in at 95.6 kilos which is just over 15 stone. Initial target is 14 st 7 which I haven't been for a long time. Hoping to get to that by 15 May which is my birthday. 49!!!!!

BIWI · 24/04/2013 09:37

I'd post here, Buda.

Day one sounds good!

And I'm sure you'll get to 14.7 (probably lower than that) by your birthday.

Right I've done a list of restaurants and supermarkets for my trip to Peterborough so hopefully I can keep up with this woe while I'm away :)

Does anyone know what the parking is like in the centre?

AuntieMaggie · 24/04/2013 10:08

Also anything to do in the evening so I don't sit around with the temptation of snacking???

WillieWaggledagger · 24/04/2013 11:58

auntiemaggie, i've thought of a couple of things which don't need refrigerating, but not sure how appetising you'll find them or if you can get hold of them easily - coconut oil and almond butter. i have only just for the first time bought coconut oil and i quite like it straight off a spoon, it's a bit like the unsweetened centre of a bounty

they might be handy, anyway, if you're caught

i'm afraid the only bit of peterborough i know is platform 4 of the railway station, so i can't comment on parking and i wouldn't recommend it as a place to hang out of an evening! is there anything on at the cinema you particularly want to see (or would that tempt you to have popcorn/ice cream?)

CarolBornAMan · 24/04/2013 13:33

Am getting ready as well - just had bowl of berries and fat yoghurt and nuts for breakfast - saying goodbye to fave breakfast for 2 weeks - there were tears ... then had an avocado with bacon and mushroom fried in butter over spinach leaves for lunch with squeeze of lime .. was really lovely and very filling... Friday night I shall say a long drawn out farewell to wine ... and then I think shall start Saturday to hopefully get rid of Friday night damage ready for Monday!

PiHigh · 24/04/2013 16:07

I've added my name to the sign up thread.

So, um, now my questions start!!!

Am I right in thinking I can have as much meat and fish as I want or do I have to weigh it? Any ideas for breakfast that isn't eggs and is there a limit on how many eggs I should eat? Can I have hummous?

PiHigh · 24/04/2013 16:08

Perhaps should also have mentioned I don't really eat cheese or yogurt.

slatternlymother · 24/04/2013 16:14

carol that lunch sounds lovely, I might have to steal that and pass it off as my own... Wink

BIWI · 24/04/2013 16:15

No limit on meat or fish or eggs.

The idea about Bootcamp is that you don't have to weigh or count anything (unless you really want to!)

Re breakfast - bacon and mushrooms or (low carb) sausage and mushrooms are good, although as they are also processed meats not great for every day. Smoked salmon and a bit of cream cheese with lemon squeezed over them.

Or, leftovers from the previous night's dinner. No need for breakfast to require 'special' foods!

AuntieMaggie · 24/04/2013 17:29
