30 Day Squat Challenge - anyone up for it?!

Anyone fancy trying the 30 day Squat Challenge with me (Google it!) My bottom could certainly do with some toning, and having heard about this I thought I might give it a go....
So here's the deal -

Day 1-50 squats
Day 2-55 squats
Day 3-60 squats
Day 4-Rest
Day 5-70 squats
Day 6-75 squats
Day 7-80 squats
Day 8-Rest
Day 9-100 squats
Day 10-105 squats
Day 11-110 squats
Day 12-Rest
Day 13-130 squats
Day 14-135 squats
Day 15- 140 squats
Day 16-Rest
Day 17-150 squats
Day 18- 155 squats
Day 19- 160 squats
Day 20-Rest
Day 21- 180 squats
Day 22- 185 squats
Day 23- 190 squats
Day 24-Rest
Day 25- 220 squats
Day 26- 225 squats
Day 27- 230 squats
Day 28-Rest
Day 29- 240 squats
Day 30- 250 squats

Only just seen this, but I'd like to join you. Did 50 squats today, will try the crunches as well from tomorrow.

I'm on day 8 ahh it hurts i'm doing crunches too does this work? I'm loosing enthusiasm already Blush help keep me moving please!!

It's day 9 for me, so I'm off to do my 100 squats and crunches.
I can hardly believe i'm saying that, a couple of weeks ago that would have been impossible but as this build up the number of squats, I've found it do able so far.

See you all tomorrow!

Done my 55, not too bad so far! Not done any crunches yet, but did swim for 35 minutes this morning.

Day 10, so it's 105 for me today.

Yesterday, i did my 100 crunches, but then in the middle of doing the squats i was interrupted by daughter. So i only managed 81 squats.

Only did 50 yesterday. Today did not check how many quays I was meant to do oops did 110. Did them quickly I think I need to slow down to get more benefit .

Day 11,
It 110 today, and tomorrow is a rest day.
My muscles are definitely looking forward to a day off tomorrow. Can really feel it in my thighs, but then thats what is supposed to happen!

Im on the 4th day my rest day is it normal for my legs to hurt so.much in which i can barely sit down?? Someone plz answer me i really want to.keep these challenge going:)

DAY 12, rest day for me.
Hi mariso, Yes i have found it very uncomfortable and ached , probably because my original fitness level was very very low, but i found sitting down OK, actually i found sitting restful.
People seem to have had a varying amount of problems, but everyone seem to have some aches. Earlier in this thread wewereherefirst had problems due to very short hamstrings and had to give up.
I'm no expert, but are doing the technique correctly?? At the start my technique was very poor and a bit wobbly, but it's improved a lot. Yeasterday i had problems doing 110 squats in a row and ended up taking a few minutes break at the half way mark.
There was good advice about techique previously on this thread from sleepwhenidie: "imagine you are lowering yourself to hover over a nasty loo seat to do a wee, "sit" backwards/down with your feet flat on the floor. At its fullest point you would end up squatting right down with your bum almost touching the floor and calves/back of thighs touching but just go as low as you can. Then push back up through your heels to standing straight and repeat.
Imagine your head is running up and down a vertical cord, so very little forward/backward movement. And as previously said, don't let your knees go forward over your toes. "
and good advice from McPie too: "Just remember when you squat to keep your chest up and eyes constantly on one spot on the wall and knees behind toes at all times"

inquisitivemummy treatment sounded painful, hope its healing well.

I'm not sure how many of us there are left...

Thankyou purples ill try all your advice at some i do want to give up but than im likeno.i made a promise so i have to keep going :) its just when im going down its just the burn that i get wow its to intense lol almost makes want to cry lol but im not giving up :)

Day 6 for me, done my 75 squats. I am finding I can get a bit lower already, but still wobble a bit sometimes as I am coming up again. Definitely feeling my legs burning though! I am determined to keep this up, I am usually very good at starting these things but usually give up after a few days.
I am going away at the end of may though, and would love to get into my size 14 jeans by then- currently in a 16.

Day 13 for me, so I'm planning to do 130 squats today and 130 crunches, I really can't believe I'm doing this!!! I'm really finding it good motivation being on this thread, otherwise I think I would have given up by now.
My calf muscles are feeling sore today, but hopefully I'll be able to do all the squats. I'll probably split the squats into a couple of groups with a few minutes rest between them, just to make it a bit easier.

DAY 14 for me, so it's 135 squats today and 135 crunches.

Did 130 squats yesterday and had to have a break in the middle. But didn't get a chance to do any crunches.
Can really feel it in my calf muscles, I think maybe, I should have warmed up better yesterday!

managed to muck up my days. Did 110 again today not doing rest day tomorrow as did one of those the other day and yesterday did 50 or so. Anyway brushed myself off and got going properly again today feel really pleased as nearly thought will do it tomorrow.

So thanks for this thread and getting me back on track.

Guymartinsideburns hope you are feeling better.

DAY 15 for me, so that's 140 squats and 140 crunches. Today is my half way mark to day 30. I am was so unfit. I really couldn't have contemplates doing 140 of anything last month, so this 30 day squat program has really worked for me, given me a bit of motivation and company. Lets just hope I can carry on for another 15 days, and beyond!

I'm now doing a bit of a warm up before I start (even if it is only walking round the house, doing a few stretches and going up and down the stairs!)
I've also started doing some stretches when I finish.
Only did 110 squats yesterday, as I was interrupted by children, and just couldn't be bothered to finish them later didn't get a chance to do them later. Never mind, I don't think in the overall scheme, it will make much difference, the important thing is to do something on a regular basis and to keep the momentum going.

Tomorrow is a rest day for me. [busmile]

Thanks for the kind words Smile Ive been lazy, I lost all motivation and Im feeling a bit low. Anyway Ive just done 50 squats, then the kids decided to come down and want breakfast so I'll do the rest shortly! Will attempt the same in crunches too. No idea what day Im meant to be on but what the hell, Ive certainly had enough rest days Blush

DAY 16 for me.

Should have done 140 yesterday, but somehow just didn't fancy doing them didn't get round to doing it.
Never mind, today was supposed to be a rest day, so I'll just swap the days around, so in the long run really should make any difference. I may only be half way through this 30 day squat challenge but I can definitely feel a difference in my muscle tone already.
