Hi All

Wanted to see if anyone is doing one of these or thinking about it. (If there's already an active thread, I missed it).

I have done LL before, lost three stone in 10 weeks and maintained wonderfully until DC's. Eldest is now four and a half and I think I have probably tried everything going, you name it, I've tried it (Paul McKenna, Paleo, 5:2, Dukan, Weight Watchers, etc).

I know that this works for me, although I understand other peoples objections.
I get paid on Friday and will be contacting a CDC to start on Monday. By the time DS1 is five in June, I intend to be pre DC weight again! Grin

Anyone up for it? Or can give me some support or advice? TIA.

Weigh in today, and I lost another 2lbs (which, although not what we might sometimes expect from a VLCD, I will accept with a grateful heart considering how I struggled at the weekend!).

I am VERY much looking forward to my first, PLANNED weekend off from the diet since Easter, however Grin
I have bought lots of healthy seafood/meat and salad for our bbq, but there may be crisps. Oh yes..!

SconeInSixtySeconds · 14/06/2013 14:13

I re-ordered and bought some bars.

Big mistake. Huge.

I am going to get the dc to hide them when they get home as I have eaten 4 today.

I just won't be able to eat anything else, that's all.

But my brain is still clearly twisted. I have got work to do on myself that is for sure. :(

bbpants · 14/06/2013 15:16

Oh Scone - the bars are very tempting, and do appeal to my inner-greediness. You are not alone with fighting those mental demons.

painforlife · 14/06/2013 17:36

hey ladies so I finally made it to the G.P today & well it was a good visit all in all. got all the things I needed doing inc a referral to pain clinic.

Plus I decided to weigh myself just to see if I have actually lost anything & I've lost 2kg in 2 weeks which is about 4lbs - not a great loss but I keep telling myself it's a start plus that loss is without having starting S&S. I've realised I've still got a long way to go!!! need to loose at least 4 stones..... :(

smokinaces · 14/06/2013 18:13

The bars are so tempting. S&s only let you order one a day - so tempting to scoff the lot though.

Just about to have "dinner". Spicy spaghetti I reckon.

I'm doing ok. Think its easier second time round.

Well done on the losses guys!!

smokinaces · 14/06/2013 18:51

Mmmmm. Made the cheesy pasta. Tasted ok but was very watery with very little pasta bits. Like soup. Chucked a few chunks of cucumber in it to try and bulk it a bit. Maybe I used too much water. Ah well.

Have to admit, I'm liking s&s meals for the evening. Feels much easier than just soup or shake or porridge on Cambridge.

painforlife · 14/06/2013 19:37

Mmmm I just had the spicy spaghetti smokinaces it was so good & I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything with my family dinnrt (we all sit done to eat dinner together at night so temptation can be bad)

so my S&S journey has started yippy :) also had the choc truffle bar which was yummy. so scone totally understand what u mean I think the only reason I haven't attacked the rest of the bars is bcos of the way I feel at the moment meaning being sick! I've also realised I've hardly ate any chocolate in the last 2 week's & I'm a chocoholic so on a personal level that is a big positive change Grin

well done bbpants for the loss. like I said to myself today at least it's a loss not a gain as a gain would be more upsetting :)

smokinaces · 14/06/2013 21:13

Ooh spicy spaghetti tomorrow then! Looking forward to it more now :-)

MyJellybean · 15/06/2013 09:21

Morning all well done on the losses. Got my weigh in on Monday. It will be the result of first week back on TotalSolution, although I have had a couple of sneaky foods (ie prawns one evening and some chicken wings last night). I don't miss my week with evening meals which is strange. Like you pain I'm a chocoholic but have gone 5weeks now without. Have a good weekend all Wink

Jen1610 · 15/06/2013 11:12

Well week one done and 11lbs down. Super happy with that. 24 to go!

MyJellybean · 15/06/2013 11:39

Well done Jen. That's great.
I've just decorated my daughters birthday cakes and managed to resist licking choc icing off my fingers, was so tempting though.

smokinaces · 15/06/2013 11:52

Jen, thats amazing! My first week on Cambridge I dropped similar amount - but I was bigger than I am now. I reckon I'll do 5lb or so this week. Weirdly no side effects yet, I think because I'd naturally followed a low carb diet (though had blow outs obviously) my body flowed into this easily. S&S cookies and cream shake is rank though!! Eugh that was a hard one! Having an early lunch and taking bar with me as out now from 12.30 until 7......

Good luck fr Monday Jellybean

SconeInSixtySeconds · 15/06/2013 15:54

Brilliant result jen! well done!

smokin - I don't like the ones with bits in them either! I strain them off with a spoon - who would want bits in a shake?!

Anyway, much better after doom and disaster yesterday, back on the shakes and all is well. Made cakes and gingerbread for the village fete and didn't eat any. And I didn't have any pimms either.

I am quite proud of myself that even after inhaling those bars yesterday that I didn't just go "oh fuck it" and eat real chocolate and crisps.

I want to be under 14st really badly. And I am at that point where it has made a really big difference already, I just need to keep reminding myself what a difference it will make to carry on. But then it's hard, I haven't been lighter than this for 15 years. I can't even imagine what it would feel like!

This weight now is comfortable. My clothes fit again (except for one pair of seven for all mankind jeans) and I need to not stop. So I need major arse kickage, 5 pounds gets me to my three stone.

smokinaces · 15/06/2013 18:56

any good?!

Well done on absteining! I had a kids birthday, avoided the cake and nibbled cucumber. Got my meal in a minute, and then to try not to nibble tonight!!!!

Which other ones have bits??!

smokinaces · 15/06/2013 18:57

Oh and the praline bar is v. Yummy.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 15/06/2013 21:01

Ouch! Grin

Beware anything that calls itself crispy.

Had a v.small piece of chicken and salad for dinner, nice and full now.

smokinaces · 15/06/2013 22:00

Ah crap, i have two crispy ones. Will make a mental note for next order!

Have been v. Good. But am in bed as otherwise the gin and crisps would be opened :-/

Can't believe I've done three days already!

bbpants · 16/06/2013 18:34

Hello ladies - I'm back after a weekend of excess! God knows what the scales are going to say in the morning, but we can safely say I have not addressed my greedy demons.

Back on it first thing tomorrow for a 4.5week blitz - no cheating - I really want to get to within spitting distance of 13 stone for the summer hols.

I've come so far that I really don't want to blow it now.

smokinaces · 16/06/2013 19:45

Bbpants, to get to 13 how much a week you need to drop? And don't forget, most of this weekend with be glycogen water weight. Just keep in mind that skinny people have blow outs - they just know to reel it in again after the weekend, which if you're anything like me, we just go "ah fuck it" and carry the blowout on for a week or two!!

Chocolate crispy one was like drinking the dregs of coco pops. Eugh. Spag bol was nice. Lemon and yogurt bar nice but slightly odd. Friend gave me some left over porridges and shakes too. I've had my meal tonight and feeling picky. Need to stay up and watch sky whilst tumble dryer going so must resist picking. Have babybels, olives and cucumber just in case so I don't go out of ketosis. Also drinking another gallon of water. Might have a second bar if I get desperate so id be on four packs and a meal today, but better than off the wagon. Though I need to address this eating through boredom.

smokinaces · 16/06/2013 19:45

And watching man v food does not help!!!!

bbpants · 17/06/2013 05:58

Smokin - I've had to stop watching Man vs Food at the moment - made me crave food!

Was 13 st 10.5 lbs on my weigh in on Friday, but have put POUNDS on over the weekend. So at best I reckon I can only stay the same this week if I lose the water weight over the next 4 days. Which would leave me 4 weeks to lose 10-11 lbs - doable but would require complete dedication, no slips, etc. We'll see. I refuse to beat myself if I don't get there, as this is a longterm process for me to lose 8 stone over 1.5 years or so.

Now I like the crispy chocolate ones, but I don't have it as a shake - I make it thick and paste-like and eat it as a chocolate pudding.

TenbyChristmas · 17/06/2013 13:03

Hello everyone! In a bit of a quandary. Was at the gym this morning with personal trainer. Was discussing my goals health and fitness wise. Over the course of the conversation it became obvious that my main priority is being fit, toned and lean. He did this by asking me, amongst other things, which celebrity bodies I admired. (Now don't judge me by what I am about to say) I said, Jodie Marsh, from the neck down minus the inflatable boobs. I really admired her dedication to bodybuilding and watched the two programmes she made and admired her figure. I named a few others and it was obvious that an athletic look is really what I'm after. He said that I would never get that by eating a vlcd no matter how hard I train and workout. I love lifting weights (not like heavy weightlifting women who look like men weight lifting) and he's basically said you need to eat more to fuel this type of training as eating so few calories will use the muscle I'm trying to build. Granted if I follow his plan for me, which is still quite low in carbs still, I will lose weight and shape up but slower. He still thinks I can get down to my size ten goal for Christmas and look trim and toned with it or as he put it, I can stay on the vlcd and look "skinny fat"
While I do want to lose the weight as quickly as I can I'm leaning toward thinking that I will come off it and give a months trial to his diet and exercise. He's also training a guy who has lost three stone in three months. My other option is to drop the weight by staying on the vlcd then tone up what's left. Saggy skin would be a real concern of mine! I think the main thing is that I'm still angry with myself for putting on the weight and being in this dilemma in the first place! Angry

sammac · 17/06/2013 19:06

Just checking in as was away for weekend. Lost 3lbs on Saturday, total now 45 1/2 in 74 days.
Big family party on Saturday night with the food and drink flowing. Thankfully nobody noticed ( or was too polite to say anything) at me sipping at my soup and drinking sparkling water. The good thing was no sore head on Sunday morning, even after staying up till half 3.

Am wearing size 14 linen trousers comfortably and can get 14 jeans on, but am more comfortable in 16 jeans. There are so many variants in sizes from different places - you can be wearing 3 different sizes at the one time!

Have my works night out on Friday night and don't know what to do re eating and drinking. Keep on it or have a break, can't decide Confused

Jen1610 · 17/06/2013 19:17

How much do you still have to lose Tenby and what does he mean 'skinny fat'? How often are you gyming it and do you do cardio along with weight lifting?

reggiebean · 17/06/2013 19:34

I'm joining late, hope that's okay! Did Cambridge for a month over the summer in preparation for hols, but have loads of shakes and porridge left over, so am starting again. I have a convention coming up next month that I have to speak at, and I refuse to get on stage and have my photo taken when I look the way I do! I'm about 13 stone 8 lbs now, which is the largest that I've ever been. I don't have a goal weight, just to be able to fit into my clothes before I go!

Today's the first day, so I'm doing okay again, but already dreading the boredom of not being able to actually eat. I think my plan is going to be to come on here and read posts when I get hungry!
