Hi All

Wanted to see if anyone is doing one of these or thinking about it. (If there's already an active thread, I missed it).

I have done LL before, lost three stone in 10 weeks and maintained wonderfully until DC's. Eldest is now four and a half and I think I have probably tried everything going, you name it, I've tried it (Paul McKenna, Paleo, 5:2, Dukan, Weight Watchers, etc).

I know that this works for me, although I understand other peoples objections.
I get paid on Friday and will be contacting a CDC to start on Monday. By the time DS1 is five in June, I intend to be pre DC weight again! Grin

Anyone up for it? Or can give me some support or advice? TIA.

Ooh I'm excited to be starting. All products have been ordered and I have enough from previous order to start tomorrow. Only thing is my scales are a bit temperamental so not sure if they are going to give me an accurate reading. May have to weigh on those and when take dc to swimming on Saturday reweigh on the big scales.
Well done elah that is a great first loss. Hope mine is similar.
I hope you are all ok and for those with children at school enjoying the peace and quiet.

MyJellybean · 03/06/2013 22:38

Good luck freckles, you'll be fine once you get past the first couple of days Smile

KeepTheCurves · 03/06/2013 23:17

What a brilliant thread!
I did Cambridge for a couple of months last year and lost almost 2 stone but could not stick at it and cheated throughout the second month and although not hungry, I could not psychologically deal with having no food and drove myself a bit mad about it. I'm going to have another go though and be more active. Questions:

  • Is Save and Slim as nutritionally complete as Cambridge? Has anyone done the research?
  • Has anyone lost on a VLCD, then gained it back, then lost and maintained? Need inspiration.
If I order S&S tomorrow, when will I get stuff? Thanks!
freckles21 · 04/06/2013 07:14

Hello keep the curves, I'm doing boossh which is similar to cambridge and s&s but u can have a meal from a pre prepared list. I'm doing the three week blast, so just shakes etc for that time then introducing one meal a day. All the research I've been doing is saying that if u return to old habits u will put the weight on regardless of whether u are following a vlcd or not. Hope that's ok.
Can't answer the other question. I did Cambridge years ago. Hated my consultant. Didn't get on with it.
Good luck with whatever plan u choose

SconeInSixtySeconds · 04/06/2013 07:24

Morning lovely people!

Elah, wow what a great start! 8.5 pounds is terrific!

Pain your packs should come today. S&s don't work on a Sunday hence the delay I think. Fingers crossed that you have a good week!

Hello freckles, oh yes, the peace and quiet now the children are back is blissful! I think if you can bear the big scales that is probably best, but then I am the threads naughty every day weigher

Ktc- hello there! I think it is 3 packs that will give you rda of vitamins and minerals. Definitely my nails are growing much better than they were when I was eating crap. Blush

It is my first time in a vlcd so can't help with the second shot stuff, but I do find this thread really useful for support. Tomorrow will be my week 7 weigh in and I find the small protein meal each day means I don't crave real food as I already get some!

I ordered masses last time so I can't remember exactly but I think if you order Mon-Thurs it comes next day.

Weigh day tomorrow and it is looking great! I so want to tell you that I am down to 14st 9 Grin

sammac · 04/06/2013 07:43

Great way to start Elah - over half a stone in a week!!

KTC, I lost 5 stone using LL about 6 years ago, but didn't maintain sadly. The losing part I can deal with, it's the keeping it off. I NOW realise that and that is where I face my biggest challenge. For now though, I'll cross that bridge blah blah.

Didn't quite catch what weight you are Scone Smile

SconeInSixtySeconds · 04/06/2013 08:46

14st 9 this morning, another 5 pounds down

It is very secret Sammac. I could not possibly tell you. Grin

Wowserz129 · 04/06/2013 08:49

Slim and save normally comes the next day if its Monday to Friday so I would expect it Tuesday if you ordered today as they will process and send it tomoro I would imagine!

Scone - I am an everyday weigher as well to that's why I do crazy things with them to stop myself, like sending my scales half way round the world and back with DP haha!

Well my weigh in today was 13 stone so I have lost 7lbs. My body fat went up though Confused. My scales are newish and cost a fair bit so you would hope they would be accurate but maybe not!

TenbyChristmas · 04/06/2013 08:51

Morning all! Day 2, headache last night!! And 2lb off on scales not that I was looking hear what you say about exercise but I do feel the need to do something-just might be as gung ho this week and take it down a notch or two! Wouldn't feel right not doing anything, I'm a bit paranoid about losing weight quickly and getting loose skin. Us. Shining here today. Off to buy a lawnmower. Oh the joys.

TenbyChristmas · 04/06/2013 08:52

PS Scone, have YOU weighed in recently? Just curious y'know? Wink

SconeInSixtySeconds · 04/06/2013 09:04

Wowser, that's great! Join the seven pound club your body fat has probably gone up because the first week is mostly water, but it should be fat from here on in!

Tenby I have the self control of a Jedi master. You would never see me weigh everyday because I do it when I let the dogs out at 5am and every other normal person is still asleep

By the way, I am wearing a pair of size 14 jeans today! Now that is with the proviso that a) They are from Sainsburys b) they are v.stretchy and c) on the tight side but I can do them up and sit down in them!

bbpants · 04/06/2013 12:55

Damn site - lost my message. Well done everybody - some great losses here!

painforlife · 04/06/2013 15:49

woohooo my pack has arrived :) can't wait to get stuck in. can't decide though do i start tonight or tomorrow??? I think I will start tonight I cannot wait till tomorrow!!!

just realised I'm gonna have to invest in a scale...he he he but I will leave it for a few week's.

so staring weight is 16st 5lbs :( so hopefully in few week's I would have at least lost the 5 lbs.

TenbyChristmas · 04/06/2013 16:08

Scone, I freaking love Sainsburys jeans! It's totally scorchio here. Trying the slim and save white wine flavouring tonight. This is truly a day to be quaffing in the garden... Hope it's nice! Thinking with sparkling water and some ice. Delude myself it's a cheeky wee Sauvignon Blanc!

Wowserz129 · 04/06/2013 17:45

Plans have all changed! We are in the car on route to DP friends who is making us dinner burger chips and cheesy garlic bread and there's cake! Panicking right now as don't want to be ridiculous and sit there on his birthday saying I can't enjoy food with them! It's time like this that makes this diet hard as ketosis is not very forgiving :(

Wowserz129 · 04/06/2013 20:06

Ah home now and had to eat a burger and a tiny slice of cake :(. Managed to avoid eating any chips/sausage rolls/garlic bread but had to eat something when we sat at table.

Really upset with myself now. I know I never really had much choice but now I know I have to go through the hell of getting into ketosis again when I was doing fine with the packets anyway . Cry! Hmm

TenbyChristmas · 04/06/2013 20:07

Wowserz try your best to avoid the carb, burger no bun, have cheese, low in carbs, salad and can you fake fullness and take your cake home Wink
I've tried the Slim and Save wine flavouring tonight. Didn't have sparkling water but had slimline tonic so used that. Quite yummy! Does taste elderflowery as has been said before but really it's a cracking substitute for vino. If only I'd have had the foresight to have this Saturday night before winegate!!!

TenbyChristmas · 04/06/2013 20:15

Wowserz just missed you! Aww it'll not be that bad. I found that my ketosis kicked in quite quick after my weekend fallout. I had a headache by Monday night! I think it's a shock to the system after the carbs. You'll be grand and we are here for support and to listen to venting Smile

Wowserz129 · 04/06/2013 20:51

Feel like I have just put all 7lbs back on and am really upset about having to go through the whole ketosis process again as I think it affects me worse than some people although I don't know why. Maybe it will be better as less carbs in my system than last time I started surely? So gutted as I didn't even really fancy it but when your there in the situation you don't want to make a fuss Hmm

Back on it tomoro and won't be eating anything else tonight.

freckles21 · 04/06/2013 20:51

First day today, feel tired but ok. Stomach has growled a few times. Whoops. Just done a big colourful chart of my plan for the next six weeks. Each day I will cross it off. Dh laughed and said you and your lists. I don't care though because if its written down I will stick with it. Need to lose as much as possible before I go to Tunisia. I weighed myself this morning, not too much of a shock but being 5ft and weighing 13st is not good. My measurements were what hurt the most.
Hope your not feeling too bad wowzer, and well done for your loss.
Lol at scone but well done your losses, my scales gave four different readings so weighed myself on some health visitor scales today.
Good luck pain for life, and Tenby.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 04/06/2013 21:11

I think you did fabulously Wowser, such a challenge so early on? You did great. Just keep going, it will be ok.

How about if there is a next time taking some salad with you to have with a burger with no bun? Just tell them you are trying to avoid bread for a while.

I am sorry I wasn't around earlier to help. One of my chickens is dying I think :( and at various points I have been syringing yoghurt and being thrown up on. Poor old Speckles, she is more of a pet than a chicken.

Oh and I had an enormous row with dh.

Ah well. Tomorrow is another day. :(

freckles21 · 04/06/2013 21:16

I need some help. Our work are having a team breakfast on Thursday and I can't et out of it, I will have only been doing this for 2 days and do not want to undo all my work, what can recommend for me to eat, I was thinking along the lines of poached eggs. But I don't know what with

SconeInSixtySeconds · 04/06/2013 21:24

Poached eggs would be great. Or bacon. Mushrooms would probably be ok too! Trouble starts if it is a continental type thing.

I take the view that if necessary I just eat as if I am low carbing, ie, I don't give myself a hard time, I just do the best I can. If that means fibbing that I think I might be gluten intolerant and I am cutting out all that stuff then so be it.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 04/06/2013 22:28

My poor chicken has just died. :(

TenbyChristmas · 04/06/2013 22:38

Oh no Scone Sad big hugs xxxx RIP Speckles
