Hi All

Wanted to see if anyone is doing one of these or thinking about it. (If there's already an active thread, I missed it).

I have done LL before, lost three stone in 10 weeks and maintained wonderfully until DC's. Eldest is now four and a half and I think I have probably tried everything going, you name it, I've tried it (Paul McKenna, Paleo, 5:2, Dukan, Weight Watchers, etc).

I know that this works for me, although I understand other peoples objections.
I get paid on Friday and will be contacting a CDC to start on Monday. By the time DS1 is five in June, I intend to be pre DC weight again! Grin

Anyone up for it? Or can give me some support or advice? TIA.

Scone did you feel like death on your first week?

I am wondering if I should change food packs to somewhere else which is not S and S and see if it makes a difference.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 15/05/2013 12:34

I spent most of the first week feeling like i had flu with a side serving of almost constant nausea.

I did find that the Coke Zero helped with the sickness feeling quite a lot though and I drink quite a lot of hot water and tea. Some people swear by making the chocolate shake into hot chocolate, or making the cafe latte one with coffee.

My dc are 9 and 7 and I explained to them that I was tired and grumpy and not feeling too well and they were pretty good on the whole, although making their tea was tempting.

I think I have just reached that tip-over point. I am ready to do something about this, and although I have 5.5 stone still to lose it seems more possible on this than it ever did with anything else.

I am still weighing every day and that is a habit I am going to try really hard to maintain. I don't want to have that shock ever again.

Only you can decide whether to try another set of food packs. I don't know how much they cost or if you can get some to try - I've had a quick look on ebay but could only find this

Wowserz129 · 15/05/2013 13:10

I didn't know we could have coke zero!! How much are we allowed?

SconeInSixtySeconds · 15/05/2013 13:21

500ml a day Grin but only coke zero not diet coke as it has citric acid.

Wowserz129 · 15/05/2013 13:25

I am totally going to buy some then! Coke (even coke zero) would feel like a treat. Grin

Melissakitkat · 15/05/2013 14:04

Lol - I am loving my coke zero here too. I also got some bovril stock cubes for a nightly hot drink! Just made the original oatmeal into a giant biscuit and it was lovely. We can do this! My main side effect is that I feel so cold and slightly jittery - x

Melissakitkat · 15/05/2013 14:04

Btw, scone that's a fab loss, really inspiring! X

Melissakitkat · 15/05/2013 14:06

Butterfly how did your registration go. Cambam, great idea to slim with a friend/relative x

milkybarsrus · 15/05/2013 16:52

I know that feeling of being jittery, I usually get it just before I am due to eat, but don't have time to sort myself out before the kids. So when this happens I make sure I eat pure protein, a chunk of chicken, or ham, etc. It takes the initial starved feeling away and then when I am able to have something to eat (s & s) I can without feeling guilty. I would rather have that sort of 'cheat' than go off plan and eat a plate of chips or mars bar!

sammac · 15/05/2013 19:30

Great loss scone - one you're on it, it does get easier. In work today there as freshly baked scones mmmmmm I could have wolfed one down but I simply smelled.

Now on day 43 and have had no other side effects apart from a rotten day 3 wen I took to my bed, but I had anticipated that and it was gone the next day.

Wowser I've been drinking peppermint tea, which I find more palatable than green tea. I originally started with lady grey, but they've got citric acid, so stopped. My loss has increased since taking up the mint tea.

thinkfast · 15/05/2013 20:03

Arghhhhh I've sinned! Tomorrow's a new day right?

Wowserz129 · 15/05/2013 21:04

What did you have thinkfast chocolate cake, chips, empire biscuits, pizza?

Tomoro is a new day! One day won't undo all your efforts so keep going tomoro! You know you can do it now you have made it this far!

I will start with green tea and bug peppermint next week whilst shopping!! Half my issue is all my family think its a silly diet and the minute I feel weak instead of encouraging me they are like just eat, there a caramel in the fridge Hmm

Kimm2013 · 15/05/2013 21:35

Hi everyone!!
I lost 8lbs on my first week. Am so pleased. Am going to try another week on sole source.
If, am really hungry I can have 3 eggs. But that's last resort. Am going to try to exercise this week, am looking at 20min cardio 10min weights. Feel great in the mornings, it's just around 7- 9pm, where I start to feel hungry!! Any tips. This is my 2nd week on cambridge diet.

Melissakitkat · 15/05/2013 21:57

Kimm, well done on your loss. Fab news. Don't think I have the energy for exercise yet!

Have ordered some zero noodles today off amazon - as on slim & save you can use these to bulk out the meals.

Did a second week's order of s&s today.

Thinkfast, tomorrow is another day and bet your still under calories even if over carbs!

Green tea sounds a good idea might look into it.

Mel x

BoiledEggonLegs · 16/05/2013 09:10

Some good losses happening. Well done everyone!

I'm trying not to weigh myself until at least a month hoping for a surprise Shock

I've got to make a c!%£ for ds2's end of SAT's party at school tomorrow. EEek!

bbpants · 16/05/2013 09:53

Well done everybody.

I second the green tea and peppermint tea - I down it in great mugfulls when I'm at work. And Coke Zero is my weekend treat - I view it in the same way as I did wine for a friday night. And in fact, on a friday, I have it in a wine glass!

As for the evening munchies - the ONLY way I can avoid them is by going up to bed ridiculously early to read or watch telly. I have to get away from the kitchen.

BoiledEggonLegs · 16/05/2013 10:11

I sometimes make up a 2lt jug of peppermint tea with about 4 bags and leave it to go cold, that's quite nice!

SconeInSixtySeconds · 16/05/2013 10:39

Quick quick! The sun is shining! Go and get some vitamin D!

Am in the rhythm but entirely without any motivation to do any housework of any kind at all. :( It is clearly a side effect of this diet.

thinkfast · 16/05/2013 12:24

Vitamin d!!! By the time I leave the office there won't be any more sunshine Confused

Feeling awful after my blow out yesterday have dreadful heartburn. Don't know what came over me but will be surprised if I lose weight this week. Think staying the same would be the best I can hope for Confused

SconeInSixtySeconds · 16/05/2013 13:00

Hey thinkfast. Smile You didn't have to sign a piece of paper swearing not to be human whilst doing this diet, so cut yourself a break, ok?

Sooner or later you will have a series of good days, hopefully enough of them in a sequence that the cravings dissipate and you get a good run, but you have to keep on keeping on. One day at a time. Remind yourself of the big picture.

My morning weigh in said that I had gained a pound yesterday. Which was nice Hmm but I know I didn't do anything, and hopefully by tomorrow it will have gone again.

It is at times like this that I like an inspiring quote. Todays is from that seminal Motion Picture "Finding Nemo". It is a heartrending story about spousal murder, kidnapping and abuse. But as Dory says, "When we get blue, what do we do? We swim! Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming".

So today I am swimming.

Sunshine is rapidly going here :( feels like we might get a storm too. Ah well.

thinkfast · 16/05/2013 13:21

Thanks scone. Have a favourite quote of mine "we are all lying in the gutter. But some of us are looking up at the stars" Oscar Wilde.

Butterfly67 · 16/05/2013 13:51

Hi everyone. So went for the dreaded weigh in with CD counsellor who measured every bit of my body in great detail (not going back there again). I just got one week's supply which cost me over £40! Started this morning, just had second milkshake of the day for lunch.

I went on the S&S website and really like what I saw so ordered the trial pack. If it tastes as nice as CD then gonna switch as it is cheaper and won't have to go to see the dreaded tape measurer extraordinaire again!

So peppermint tea, green tea, coke zero all ok to stay in ketosis (in moderation)? Anyone else got any other things you can use that does not knock you out of ketosis?

Does anyone have the link for the May spreadsheet that I can fill in please.

Would welcome any hints and tips that peeps have. Feeling very positive at the moment and start a new job on Monday so its a good time to get rid of all my bad habits. Grin

milkybarsrus · 16/05/2013 17:37

Hi butterfly, just a couple of tips, always carry a bar or soup with you. Holland and barrat sell zero noodles, they are nearly 2 pound a packet so if I have them I make them last 2 meals. Buy coke zero cans when on offer and do what I do and tell the family that they are all yours!

Butterfly67 · 16/05/2013 19:35

Thanks Milky some good advice there. I just had 100g of chicken and 60g of iceberg with some marmite on it. So full up feel like I might explode lol

Butterfly67 · 16/05/2013 19:53

Hey can anyone tell me where I can buy the Salad Light spray that is ok to use on S&S also is it Balsamic or what type? Have looked in several places and cannot find it Sad
