Hi All

Wanted to see if anyone is doing one of these or thinking about it. (If there's already an active thread, I missed it).

I have done LL before, lost three stone in 10 weeks and maintained wonderfully until DC's. Eldest is now four and a half and I think I have probably tried everything going, you name it, I've tried it (Paul McKenna, Paleo, 5:2, Dukan, Weight Watchers, etc).

I know that this works for me, although I understand other peoples objections.
I get paid on Friday and will be contacting a CDC to start on Monday. By the time DS1 is five in June, I intend to be pre DC weight again! Grin

Anyone up for it? Or can give me some support or advice? TIA.

Hi Kimmm. Am thinking of doing something similar - well thinking of 2 meals a week at the weekend as I seriously doubt if I can keep this up otherwise. Very impressed you managed to exercise! I've felt far too faint most of the time to even do a short walk

thinkfast · 13/05/2013 18:53

Sorry for the extra mmms Kim! Think milkybars' name made me do it! Milky bar - your name is too tempting for this thread Wink

Kimm2013 · 13/05/2013 19:10

Thankyou ladies...
I have not started the exercises yet:) ... As they said no exercise first week.. But I was thinking 2 shakes and a protein meal, a day. it's just cheaper, and I can stick to it! X having done shakes for a week.. Am looking forward to green health food !! Anyone??

Kimm2013 · 13/05/2013 19:10

Lol mmmm

thinkfast · 13/05/2013 21:03

Lost 7lb in 6 days Grin yay! (Wish it was 10lb) but hopefully will have list 10lb by this time next week

TerraNotSoFirma · 13/05/2013 21:48

Has anyone tried visalus? I'm starting on Friday for 2 months and plan on using my fitness pal to keep me on track calorie wise.
Have bought some fitness DVDs but do you think I should start them at the same time as the diet or leave it until a couple weeks in?

SconeInSixtySeconds · 13/05/2013 22:16

Fabulous thinkfast! That is what I lost first week too!

I'm afraid I can't help with Cambridge Kimm, but certainly on Slim and Save which is what I am doing having a protein meal once a day is completely doable.

Hi Terra, not heard of visalus either, but going by how I felt the first week, I'd definitely concentrate on getting through that first!

thinkfast · 13/05/2013 22:37

Thanks scone. Not heard of Visalia either

Feeling very cross. Husband who is supposed to be lo carbing just came in with a chicken burger and chips!!!! Feeling very resentful of the chips and annoyed that he just shovels foid in his mouth without thought

TerraNotSoFirma · 13/05/2013 22:42

Thanks Scone, think I will wait til' at least week two for the exercise.

Thinkfast, My DH throws food down his neck in alarming quantities and retains a 32in waist, the bastard.

Am planning a lot of early nights to combat the late night munchies.

thinkfast · 13/05/2013 22:51

Thanks terra unfortunately my dh's waist is more line a 42 than a 32!

Pollydon · 14/05/2013 07:14

Saw consultant last night & Ive been moved up to step 5 but its so flipping complicated, going to have to food diary & check everything! Makes me look back on ketosis fondly Wink

Got to up exercise to at least 1/2 hr per day, so lots of walking \ yoga\ wii fit.

Kimm don't go down to 2 shakes, you'll not be having enough calories & could make yourself Ill .Ask your consultant about Sole Sorce plus, Its 3 Cambr +a 200 cal meal & you still lose same amount of weight. & I bet you've done really well in your 1 st week Smile

thinkfast · 14/05/2013 13:22

Wowserz. How's it going? Do you need some hand holding?

sammac · 14/05/2013 18:41

Well done thinkfast, that's a great a great loss. Makes the hard work worthwhile.

Wowserz129 · 14/05/2013 19:02

Hi, I have dropped off it but been low carbing! Starting on slim and save tomoro again. Starting to get frustrated with myself for not sticking at it but when your in the moment and I have a toddler and I feel very weak and sick for days it's hard to see past it!
Well done on the weight loss Grin

milkybarsrus · 14/05/2013 20:50

Hey thinkfast- the story behind the name is I felt like a milk bar when breastfeeding my youngest, but he's now 7 and I reckon I'm due a name change!! Will have a good think of a slimming appropriate one Hmm.
Kimm you really should have all the shakes or soups you're supposed to as they have all the vitamins needed. I know someone who didn't follow the plan and their hair fell out, which you certainly want to avoid.
Wowsers - Is there ever a good time to lose weight? Life is never plan sailing and just when you think in terms of losing weight you seem to get a run of invites, or things go wrong and you need to eat to feel better (well thats me anyway). Why do you feel sick? Maybe too much liquid sloshing around in your tum? If so, have half a portion at a time if possible. If its the flavour, then try another or add something to it. Try again if possible, and don't get frustrated with yourself, just put yesterday behind you and start again.
well done all on your weight losses.

Wowserz129 · 14/05/2013 22:28

It's not even so much lack of willpower that makes me stop its feeling horrid! Then I want to punch myself for quitting on day 5 and having to go back to the start!

SconeInSixtySeconds · 15/05/2013 07:09

Morning everyone. Week Four weigh in (and yes bastard TOTM arrived yesterday) and I have lost another 4 pounds so

4 weeks = 21 pounds!

Wowserz129 · 15/05/2013 07:23

Wow scone that is so great! Just think about much much closer you are to your gone!

I am starting the packs again today with a view of a goal of one week. If I can get to one week and see how I feel without falling over I might manage it further

thinkfast · 15/05/2013 07:36

Wowserz I'm having a goal of one day at a time. A week seems long to me

Butterfly67 · 15/05/2013 09:44

Thanks hi everyone can I join you please but I don't have kids??
I am going at lunchtime to register with CD counsellor, been reading the thread very encouraging positive messages.

Can anyone tell me the difo between CD and S&S? Products and pricing as not heard of S&S before.

Wish me luck for the first weigh in, that's if I don't break the scales Shock

Wowserz129 · 15/05/2013 09:57

Yes might try one day thinkfast! Are you finding it any easier now your into your second week?

Does anyone drink green tea? I am thinking about trying to drink it when I am feeling yuky in the hope having something with an actual taste will help but not sure if there is restrictions.

There isn't a massive difference between slim and save and Cambridge. Slim and save doesn't have a counsellor, it's all done online and your packs get delivered but S and S is quite a bit cheaper.

SconeInSixtySeconds · 15/05/2013 10:12

Hi Butterfly, having dc is not necessary on this site - a sense of humour and the inability to be offended by imaginative swearing is!

I didn't do CD because a. I understand it is v.expensive and b. I am not sure that I want to rely on a counsellor to work out what is going on - I would rather blather to lots of people! Grin

link here to Slim and Save are actually really good - the packs are not utterly repulsive, in fact the majority are quite nice and I like the flexibility of being able to have only packs or have 3 packs plus one meal a day without it affecting weight loss.

Slim and Save have a taster pack - I think it is a week's worth (28 items) for 28 pounds, and then after that they are about 1.50 a pack.

Cambam2010 · 15/05/2013 10:32

Hi all - Having read your thread I have decided to try S&S. My sis and I both need to lose quitea few lb and I am challenging her to do it with me in the hope that we can keep each other on the right path.

Melissakitkat · 15/05/2013 11:23

Hello, can I join in please, have been lurking for a little while. I started s&s on Monday so day 3 today - although it feels like a lifetime! Have been watching my calories on mfp and lost 19lbs since jan but my weight loss has been minimal since Easter - basically losing & gaining the same 3lbs - so decided to try this as my diet was a carb overload & wanted to see an immediate change on the scales. Since Monday have lost 5.5lbs but alot of that is water weight as Sunday I snacked madly on crisps and other bad foods in anticipation of starting this diet.
Must admit the food is surprisingly good - I had the chili con carne last night on a bed of cabbage.

Today am going to try to make the oatmeal into a biscuit.

I have found it gets much easier, I am now nearly a month in - a month! - time flies and it is just routine now really.

I do have the occassional spasm of sadness as I stroll around Sainsburys but right here and now I am focused and ready.

They reckon on the S&S website (which also has a forum full of sparkly tickers but generally lovely people) that a stone a month is quite normal if you stick to it.

So far first month for me is 1.5 stone.

Hopefully I can get another 2 stone off by mid July - this is my next aim.

Then I want to get to 12 stone.

Then 10.

All going well I should be at 10 stone by Christmas. That will be my present to myself. I hope!
