Hi All

Wanted to see if anyone is doing one of these or thinking about it. (If there's already an active thread, I missed it).

I have done LL before, lost three stone in 10 weeks and maintained wonderfully until DC's. Eldest is now four and a half and I think I have probably tried everything going, you name it, I've tried it (Paul McKenna, Paleo, 5:2, Dukan, Weight Watchers, etc).

I know that this works for me, although I understand other peoples objections.
I get paid on Friday and will be contacting a CDC to start on Monday. By the time DS1 is five in June, I intend to be pre DC weight again! Grin

Anyone up for it? Or can give me some support or advice? TIA.

I think they stopped manufacture of it for some reason - have also never found it!

bbpants · 17/05/2013 05:54

Hi all - dropping in as it's weigh in day for me - another 3.5 lb gone this week. On track for my summer target if I keep going.

Got a tricky weekend coming up - with friends at what is traditionally a carb fest. Not sure what I'm going to get away with - this is the downside of not telling people what diet you're on - I can't just whip out a shake for dinner. I'm aiming to try for very small portions and I've already told them I'm not drinking. So it's all about damage limitation.

Butterfly67 · 17/05/2013 08:50

Day two and feeling very postitive. Wondering which of the trial packs to try first, feel like a kid in a candy shop lol.
Cant wait (weight) pun to day 7 when I can step on those scales hope it will be a nice surprise.
Does anyone know where you can buy the Salad Light spray from?
Hugs Butterfly67

Wowserz129 · 17/05/2013 11:18

My granny died unexpectedly so didnt start diet as planned so will start on Tues after the funeral.

Fingers crossed I can do it this time!

thinkfast · 17/05/2013 13:27

Oh wowserz so sorry to hear that. Are you ok?

Butterfly I think the salad spray is no longer manufactured

Listening to a programme about type 2 diabetes on the radio. Very motivating to help me stick to this today

Am feeling very rough and freezing cold today. Guess that means I'm going back into ketosis after my blow out

Wowserz129 · 17/05/2013 13:57

Thanks thinkfast, it was a shock as she was v fit and otherwise healthy but going to keep busy over weekend to distract myself!

I always wondered if you are in ketosis and you eat a muffin or pancake or something small do you have to go through the whole feeling terrible for 4/5 days again to get back into if? Coz it seems to be feeling ill I struggle with. Will try to mentally prepare myself over weekend !

Melissakitkat · 17/05/2013 15:07

So sorry for your nan, wosserz. X

bbpants · 17/05/2013 17:52

Wowserz - I'm so sorry. I think getting back into ketosis is easier than doing it to start, but everybody is different.

thinkfast · 17/05/2013 19:25

Hmmm it is hard going back in. Not as hard as last week but am tired cold and headachy

milkybarsrus · 17/05/2013 21:49

Wowserz - Really sorry for your loss, lost my dad a few months ago and miss him like hell. Wait until you feel ok.

Butterfly67 · 18/05/2013 03:21

sorry for your loss Wowserz (hugs)

SconeInSixtySeconds · 18/05/2013 07:55

Wowser, I am so sorry to hear about your gran. I hope that the funeral goes as well as possible. xxx

You are doing really well Thinkfast, you can do it!

Another 3.5 lbs bb? Fabulous! You are well on the way to target now!

It is my birthday today (39 yikes) but no cake or wine! The dc have made me some lovely presents - a paper lollipop is my favourite!

sammac · 18/05/2013 14:59

So sorry for your loss Wowser. I lost my lovely nana in November and still can't quite believe it.

Weigh day today and lost 4 1/2 lbs, bringing a total to 31 1/2 lbs in 46 days. Our group discussion was about our achievements and how, as women, we don't acknowledge what we've done in life- always putting others before ourselves- and not looking after ourselves enough. It was really motivating to see just what we have collectively achieved so far, and makes me see why I need a group type programme rather than an individual programme. All those who are doing it by yourself -you have so much more determination than me and I admire you for that - an achievement in itself!!!

Melissakitkat · 19/05/2013 16:22

Wow well done sammac!

Well have being weighing daily so know I have lost weight but official weigh in day Tom. Decided to take yesterday off plan and it was really nice to eat normal food but back on it today. Weirdly don't feel hungry at all - so hoping for a nice week's result Tom. It seems to be getting easier to stick to. Went to a cafe today and both dd and dh had a meal & I had a diet coke and was not tempted by food at all! It's so inspiring seeing the scales go down.

How is everyone else?

Xxx

SconeInSixtySeconds · 19/05/2013 17:06

I ate way too much yesterday - but then it was my birthday so I am back on the wagon today! I haven't lost much (if anything!) this week, but I am overdue a 'stall' so vigour recaptured, I'm off again.

By the way my naughtiness consisted of eating chicken satay skewers - no rice or anything, so I am fairly sure it was just too many calories rather than too many carbs.

Looking forward to hearing about your loss Melissa, hope that it reaches your hopes! And Yay for Sammac, another great loss. you are doing so well.

bbpants · 19/05/2013 17:13

Well done sammac and scone, and in anticipation for tomorrow Melissa

Well, as predicted my fabulous weekend was a carb fest and, although I didn't eat nearly as much as I would have done normally, there was no option but to have small portions of what was offered. I didn't drink, however, and have walked bloody miles - these are the only successes of the two days. Scales won't be kind tomorrow, I can only hope it'll just be carb-weight and will go in a few days. Back on track tomorrow.

elah11 · 19/05/2013 22:45

Hi all, can I join in please? I am going to start the New You Plan next week and am looking for any advice or tips as its my first time! I gather I will be allowed 4 shakes/ soups/bars a day but what can I drink and still stay in ketosis? Any advice appreciated

SconeInSixtySeconds · 20/05/2013 07:14

hello elah, nice to meet you! Which plan is the New You with? (god, sorry terrible grammar!) as I think that can make a difference to what you can drink.

There are quite a few of us doing Slim and Save which allows tea and coffee (with limited milk), Coke Zero and other flavoured waters as long as they have no citric acid.

I am not sure about the others - so best wait for Sammac or bb to tell you!

Anyway, best of luck! you can make a really big difference to yourself in a short time - once you get through that first week!

Melissakitkat · 20/05/2013 11:03

Hello, just a quick post to say I lost 7lbs last week which am really happy about - am finally in the overweight category rather than obese. It's nice to see the scales move downwards as they had not moved in weeks of just a low cal diet so think low carb works for me! I don't feel hungry at all even though I has Saturday off the diet and ate what I wanted! Hope everyone else is ok. Off to work now x

oggsfrog · 20/05/2013 21:15

Hello everyone! I've lost 24lbs since the 22nd April, but had a major wibble over the weekend so I'm not expecting a loss this week.

I'd been doing so well and had been tee-total for a month.
Because I'd been doing so well I decided to treat myself to a glass or two of vodka. Consequently felt crap the next morning and ate all the things, including some pizza, a cheese omelette and an ice cream. There may or may not have been some biscuits involved too...

SconeInSixtySeconds · 20/05/2013 21:30

Wow oggsfrog that is an amazing loss - you have done brilliantly. Just don't let yourself go!

sammac · 20/05/2013 22:08

Well done melissa and oggsfrogs- don't get too hung up on your blip, just get back on track and continue - what's done is done and you can move back on.

Ellah, I don't know your plan, but on Lighter Life we're not allowed even coke zero - it's black tea, coffee and water. I buy 2 litre bottles of sparkling water from asda and decant ( sounds fancier than it is) them into 500ml bottles with flavouring. I can drink leaf tea, but not fruit or flower tea- I like peppermint now. We can get a bouillon type drink, which I've not bough but will occasionally make a stock cube into a drink in the evenings if I've had my packs.

sammac · 20/05/2013 22:09

Forgot to say happy birthday scone - here's a virtual slice of celebration cake - calorie free of course!!

Wowserz129 · 21/05/2013 07:46

Thanks everyone! Re - starting today so wish me luck!

elah11 · 21/05/2013 15:49

Thanks sammac and scone, the one I am doing seems to be the same, only water, black coffee or tea allowed. I have been trying out black tea and its not bad actually! I think I am allowed tablet sweetners too so will be able to drink black coffee. I have also bought some green tea and peppermint tea so I will have plenty to choose from and won't feel deprived hopefully. I can't wait to get started, I feel so heavy and unhappy at the moment.
