Hi All

Wanted to see if anyone is doing one of these or thinking about it. (If there's already an active thread, I missed it).

I have done LL before, lost three stone in 10 weeks and maintained wonderfully until DC's. Eldest is now four and a half and I think I have probably tried everything going, you name it, I've tried it (Paul McKenna, Paleo, 5:2, Dukan, Weight Watchers, etc).

I know that this works for me, although I understand other peoples objections.
I get paid on Friday and will be contacting a CDC to start on Monday. By the time DS1 is five in June, I intend to be pre DC weight again! Grin

Anyone up for it? Or can give me some support or advice? TIA.

I am doing the simplicity one - 4 packs a day and the only extras are veg.

thepatioislumpy · 18/04/2013 20:52

Same here - simplicity. So veg and skimmed milk. I figured that it took all temptation away if I knew that all I had to eat was the stuff in the box and a limited range of veg!

I'm so tempted to weigh too - I've been feeling brilliant and I'm certainly not starving so I'm really pleased. And I'm positive my jeans are feeling very slightly looser!

I can't believe I'm four days down on a hugely restrictive diet and I've not cheated! Though I am really looking forward to my nightly can of coke zero tonight. It's on offer in Tesco if anyone wants to stock up...

ForYourEyesYoniBrian · 18/04/2013 20:58

Ditto patio but by heck the dc's pork chops smelled good tonight!

ShootingStarsss · 18/04/2013 21:09

I have just been doing 3 packs a day plus the semi skimmed milk 150ml for coffee/tea.

I don't know if I should stick to the packs I think your right about the temptation patio, hmm best think about this.

Am feeling ok tonight not hungry which is good & going to try sleep early.

milkybarsrus · 18/04/2013 21:41

thanks for your support everyone, I got in from work really late tonight, which meant I was starving, I mean, is it normal to start eyeing up the dog cos you feel so hungry?Grin. Anyway, stayed on plan, and didn't have a single one of the birthday cakes and cookies someone brought in, so Im off to polish my halo now, then sit down with my fizzy water in a wine glass, sad I know, but it helps me trick myself into thinking its wine. Keep going everyone, and lets keep the support up, it really helped today, thank you!

ShootingStarsss · 18/04/2013 21:44

Yay well done milky great stuff, lol at eyeing up the dog know that feeling Wink

Keep going, bring on tomorrow.

Enjoy your "wine" Smile

thepatioislumpy · 18/04/2013 23:32

Embarrassing moment alert - but in a good way!

I Sat down tonight to take my shoes off and when I bent over, there was no immediate attack of acid indigestion as there always sometimes is! I appreciate this is less to do with my wright and more to do with very much reduced portion sizes, but even so!

bbpants · 19/04/2013 08:49

Everyone is doing so well - congratulations.

Well, Friday is my weigh-in day, and I've put my loss in on the spreadsheet, but it doesn't quite reflect the reality of the week.

I weighed myself last Friday after three weeks off-plan (and by off-plan, I REALLY mean off-plan - we went on holiday, and I consumed a truck load of Easter chocolate). After my weigh in last week, we went away to friends for the weekend, and I ate and drank to my heart's content. Therefore, I put on a couple more pounds over the weekend, which, combined with PMT, meant that I started the diet on Monday heavier than I weighed in on Friday.

So although it looks as though I've lost 4lbs (which in itself I'm very pleased about), it's actually nearer 6.5lbs - which is fabulous for 4 days of dieting!

Roll on next week.

bbpants · 19/04/2013 08:53

Forgot to say, that means that since I started this diet (I did 10 weeks before the Easter break), I have now lost a total of 40lbs. It's starting to really show now, I feel so much better, and I'm really looking forward to throwing everything out of my wardrobe and starting again.

thepatioislumpy · 19/04/2013 10:14

Whoop whoop! 40lbs! That's amazing! I'm soooo looking forward to seeing that sort of figure in my total lost Smile

StairsInTheNight · 19/04/2013 10:33

Wow, bb 40lbs is really good work- especially in such a short space of time.

My jeans fitted today which was very nice, I could do them up! Cant wait to go a size down, that will be great.

And I think ketosis or something has happened because I feel better today, more energy, less tired and draggy. Still finding it hard in waves but they pass more quickly, and having a big stack of packs really helps- I cant waste all that money!

thepatioislumpy · 19/04/2013 10:36

Seombody asked me this morning if I have lost weight Smile

milkybarsrus · 19/04/2013 11:09

Well done bb, your loss is an inspiration to keep going. And Patio, thats lovely that someone noticed you've lost weight Grin. Someone at work noticed by hands looked slimmer, hilarious, of all the things for people to notice, and whats more i couldn't give a damn about having a pair of slim hands! Need to shift the lard on the rest of my body!

bbpants · 19/04/2013 12:03

Thanks all. It's taken this amount of loss for me to go down one size and for people to start to notice. I think when you're really big, it takes longer to lose a clothes size, and, to be fair, I was probably squeezed into my clothes somewhat before I started!!

In some ways, this diet is easy because choice is removed. However, I have a very social weekend planned, and it's going to be hard. I've decided on my coping strategy and have made plans to stick to meat, veg and salad, but I won't be able to stick 100% on the diet, so it will be interesting to see what my weight does on Monday.

Scarey7 · 19/04/2013 14:57

Hi all, is anyone doing the Cambridge Diet. I assumed you were as writing s&s which I took to be Sole Source for some reason!!!! Haven't heard of Slim and Save before?!

I looked on my scales this morning and since Monday I have lost 4.5lbs and haven't been hungry once. I am wondering what the hell is going on!!

Although shopping for the family was an experience. I could actually smell everything and felt a bit envious and strange not buying anything for myself!

This is a break through diet I believe!!!

P.s laughed about the dog!!

ForYourEyesYoniBrian · 19/04/2013 18:10

Nearly the end of day 3 and I could eat the sole off my shoes, so clearly I am not in ketosis yet...

thepatioislumpy · 19/04/2013 19:14

Not long now brian...

I have slightly erred from my plan in that tonight I just wanted something real to eat. So instead of simplicity I've done lifestyle and had some plain chicken. Must admit it was delish!

Tho all I have left now for the rest of the evening is a can of coke zero...

Scarey7 · 19/04/2013 19:42

You know I find it really helps to stay out of the kitchen as much as poss!

bbpants · 19/04/2013 19:57

I have also eaten all I can today so am now off to bed to read. Don't tell me I don't know how to party on a Friday night!!

thepatioislumpy · 20/04/2013 07:10

7lbs since Monday. I am soooo motivated to stick to this! Bring on next week...

bbpants · 21/04/2013 07:18

How is everybody coping over the weekend?

I survived two meals out yesterday and the scales have been kind this morning - I think I may have been lucky that it's coincided with the end of my period. One more meal out today and then back to normal on Monday.

We can do this!

ShootingStarsss · 21/04/2013 10:02

Hi all hope your all having a good weekend Smile

It's be tuff this weekend but I have stuck to it, today is day 5, yesterday I felt bit unwell bit sick and miserable!

However I did a sneaky weigh and I have lost 7lb in 4 days I am amazed and it spurred me on again.

Next weigh in will be Wednesday morning that will be my 1 week mark.

thepatioislumpy · 21/04/2013 16:14

Yesterday was interesting! I knew I was going out in the evening so I had two packs and then left the third til supper. I thought we were going to the pub but it was full so in the end we went to a curry house. I thought I was a goner, but actually it wasn't too bad. I drank iced water and ordered chicken tandoori, knowing that this place does the breast quarter not the thigh quarter, and ate that with the salad. So I def had too much meat but I remained in ketosis and stayed within my daily calories. So it was happy days! And I never had the third pack. And this morning I had still lost another 1/2 lb on yesterday's weight. So I'm back on simplicity today and feel fine. I really don't want to do that often, but it is tremendously useful to know that I can when I need to.

Determination and motivation to all!

SconeInSixtySeconds · 21/04/2013 16:27

I have name changed back to my normal nn toodle pip Brian and his happy ending it isn't very vlcd friendly though!

Good weekend here - had to have some roast beef and cabbage today at lunch (strong armed into going out and said I was lo-carbing) but as I have been failing to use all the calories this week I don't feel too bad about that.

My weigh in will be Wednesday too shooting fingers crossed!

sammac · 21/04/2013 18:27

Weigh-in yesterday with 3lbs off. Bit disappointed as have stuck rigidly to it - on Lighter Life. Think I need to drink more water so bought the flavouring. Total of 15 1/2 lbs in 18 days, which is great. Like others, clothes are looser and am wearing combats which I couldn't even do up last month.
