Whoosh fairy has been to my house. I seem to be 9 stone 2. I feel so slim and so bloody healthy. I'm doing this on around 50-odd grams of carbs a day, but I have noticed that my appetite is completely under control, so I'm not snacking or eating huge meals. I also panic if I'm down to my last head of cabbage - the fridge is groaning under the weight of green leafy veg.

Just had to go to GP and he asked the nurse to take a blood sample. The nurse told me that I looked fantastic and slim and how was I doing it? We had a lovely long natter about low carb diets - I even managed to get some points in about diabetes.

Thanks for highlighting Dr Lustig interview. It really is being spoken about more and more.

BIWI · 14/03/2013 12:56

Can you send her on down to SW London, Lavender? Grin

LittleFrieda - if you've done your two weeks of Bootcamp it's entirely up to you what you do next. Some people like the extra strictness of Bootcamp weirdos whereas others can't wait to re-introduce a bit of fruit, some nuts and alcohol! Just go easy - it's very easy to massively ramp up the carbs if you're not careful ...

It was ace Ewan - so much so that I have signed up for a 6 week course and will be ordering my own special hoop :) I'm lunching on a big salad with random bits of what was left in my fridge - black olives, some ham and a bit of feta. Dinner will be pork chops with cauli puree and braised red cabbage.

Sending good vibes to everyone with poorly DCs.

teaandthorazine · 14/03/2013 13:29

Breakfast - weeny pot full fat Greek yog with a few blueberries

Lunch - Greek salad with extra olives and a couple of slices of Serrano ham

Dinner will be Something With Mince. Maybe moussaka to continue the Greek theme?

Have had plenty o' water and two large mugs of peppermint tea. Am on a mission to buy the liquorice stuff this weekend.

Feel good.

teaandthorazine · 14/03/2013 13:32

Oh, and I have had a few plain Brazil nuts, for the selenium Grin

LittleFrieda · 14/03/2013 13:48

I haven't had any alcohol since new year's day lunchtime.

Doshusallie · 14/03/2013 14:29

I am not feeling my recent mid afternoon energy slump - I think it's because I have upped my water. yay!

BIWI · 14/03/2013 15:12

Respect, LF!

BIWI - I turn 50 this year and I'm determined not to be fat and fifty. I kept falling off this diet because of hangovers and social events which is just a bonkers way to carry on.

BIWI · 14/03/2013 15:39

I know exactly what you mean - it's been my downfall since Christmas.

How is the weight loss going for you?

An interesting piece here about the benefits of coconut oil

OP posts:
LavenderBriggs · 14/03/2013 16:09

Interesting article BIWI I overheard DH on the phone to one of his business contacts - DH was explaining the need for business contact to throw away vegetable oil and just use butter and coconut oil, so I think he has bought in to LCHF Grin

JakeBullet · 14/03/2013 16:21

Terrible day....long story but all related to childhood (abuse) ...felt sick, panicky .....

Ate (binged) on crisps....it didnt help...I knew it wouldn't. Ate fish n chips

now feel sick and yucky

See my counsellor tomorrow so will attempt to unravel it all a bit.

I am drinking loads of water now and just feel drained Sad .

At the very least I am experiencing the differences from low carb eating.

Haven't binged for over two weeks and yhat is a massive record. Feeling tearful for having done so but will get over it and just Boot Camp for a few days.

LittleFrieda · 14/03/2013 16:28

BIWI - well I've only been back on it for 2.5 weeks. I had social events to attend Hmm in Jan and Feb but now I've become strict. For example, I'm going to the theatre and a meal on Saturday with friends and I insisted upon choosing the restaurant so I don't en up eating home-made ravioli starter and risotto for main course. I expect I'll have no friends soon. Grin

It's going well this time. I'd like to lose 2 stone by my birthday in November. I think that should be possible.

LittleFrieda · 14/03/2013 16:29

JakeBullet - very sorry you're having a horrid time. Take care.

teaandthorazine · 14/03/2013 17:26

Jake - take care of yourself and don't think twice about the food!

WillieWaggledagger · 14/03/2013 17:48

Jake you poor thing, be kind to yourself and take care

LavenderBriggs · 14/03/2013 17:50

Oh, Jake, sorry to hear that. Please don't be too hard on yourself. Try and breath through the panic. I kind of surf on top of anxiety (dealing with anxiety attacks is my extreme sport), it can stop you from feeling too out of control. You've done so well so far, and you're going to carry on doing well Thanks

prettybird · 14/03/2013 17:53

Be kind to yourself JakeBullet :)

Why not do what someone slese suggested in a previous thread: treat yoursalf to a reeeeaaally good HFLC treat (think steak with a garlic cheese and or cream sauce served with buttery mushrooms personally, ugh but that's just me and some lovely neep/swede parmesan chips). You deserve it!

BIWI · 14/03/2013 17:58

Oh Jake Flowers I'm sorry to hear that. I agree with the others. Don't beat yourself up about it.

OP posts:
JakeBullet · 14/03/2013 18:03

Thank you all......feeling better this evening, have drunk loads of water.

Sirloin steak is a good HFLC treat so might make sure it's in the house in future.

My counsellor is very good too and am sure she will help me make sense of things. Best of all is that I haven't binged for two weeks before today and I cannot begin to tell you how massive that is as progress for me.

I am not going to beat myself up any more over today......just move in and try to find a different way if coping with those panicky feelings.

WillieWaggledagger · 14/03/2013 18:10

Jake you're right to remember that positive, and you've done it once, you can do it again, and for longer, so just concentrate on looking after yourself

EwanHoozami · 14/03/2013 18:44

Jake two weeks is brilliant, you should be really proud. Be kind to yourself for a bit.

BIWI that's a good piece on coconut oil. I got all gung-ho and bought two big jars in the H&B sale and tried it in herb tea and couldn't get on with it. I'm going to use it to cook with now instead. Not sure about the 'oil pulling' mentioned in the comments.. Confused

WillieWaggledagger · 14/03/2013 19:07

On the low carb thread I'm on on another forum there are people who do oil pulling. I admit I don't really understand it and it sounds an awful lot of effort, but they are very happy with their results!

teaandthorazine · 14/03/2013 19:07

Dp came home with a box of teapigs liquorice and mint - OMG! He says it's too sweet though so I don't have to share, result Grin
