I only did the first one yesterday. I can't even sit on the loo today. It was painful even trying to get on the bus. My thighs are killing me and its really slowed down my walking. Am I doing it wrong?

Whitershadeofpale · 03/03/2013 17:30

No I felt the same after doing it the first time. It does get much easier though.

QuickLookBusy · 03/03/2013 17:34

No you aren't doin it wrong, I was the same the first few times I did it.

We have a lot of stairs in our house and I was in agony. I had to make dd fetch and carry things for me.

Keep going, it gets much easier and you will feel amazing!

(Although I find Jillian very annoying and now do it with the sound down)

FreakoidOrganisoid · 03/03/2013 17:49

I was in agony for the first 5 days or so but kept going and kept trying to move normally in between and it suddenly stopped hurting. And it works.

worley · 03/03/2013 17:52

no pain no gain.. it hurts for first week but gets better.. it's a good pain by end if week as you know it's working..
can't rate jillians DVDs enough..

Lighthousekeeping · 03/03/2013 18:31

The trouble is, if I have to move quickly at work it won't be practical if I can't. I think I'll need to leave it until I'm on annual leave.

4 days of pain then just results

Nagoo · 03/03/2013 18:39

gets easier quickly, don't use it as an excuse to stop.

I have said to myself I will do it again this month, but look at me, here on the sofa as usual

theoriginalandbestrookie · 03/03/2013 18:42

I've never managed to do it 3 days in a row. I'd leave it for a day before doing it again.

BambieO · 03/03/2013 19:41

Keep going :) I am sure once we break the initial pain barrier it will ease off. A few reduced mobility days at work will seem a long way away when you are strutting your stuff in summer

QuickLookBusy · 03/03/2013 20:16

I agrees with Origional, you are supposed to do the exercises 30 days none stop but I don't think that is recommended by medics etc.

On her later DVDs, Jillian does say take rest days, so I do 2 days on then a rest day. It still works!

Alligatorpie · 04/03/2013 07:07

Everytime you switch to a new level, you feel more pain. But it does get easier. Keep at it, the results are worth it.

Spamspamspam · 04/03/2013 12:15

I would say keep at it - I know it is excrutiatingly painful but I am on day 5 now and it is much easier and not as much pain. I have tried this a couple of times in the past but never kept it up past day 1 because of the pain but this time I really bit the bullet and just did it - yes for the first couple of minutes you are hurting but once the muscles warm up it is easier. What really really helped me is a hot bath in the evening on days 1, 2 and 3 - that made a MOUNTAIN of difference and made me keep going. I also remember something my personal trainer telling me years ago about lactic acid and continuing to exercise with sore muscles - can't remember the details but she made me continue to exercise through some quite bad pain and it definately never got worse from them on only got better. If you break now, I would worry that you are only prolonging the inevitable and you will hurt more in the long run! Look at the guys on The Biggest Loser - they just have to get on with exercising every day!!!

BambieO · 04/03/2013 12:19

spam have you seen a difference at all yet? I'm on day two and praying it works

VisualiseAHorse · 04/03/2013 12:20

Keep at it, the first three days are the worst. Once you're on day 5, you'll be feeling ace.

Spamspamspam · 04/03/2013 12:24

Bambie - yes I have. I am also low carbing and actually haven't really lost anything on the scales yet but I tried on a dress about 6 days ago and nearly cried it looked so awful - tried in on this morning and it nearly looks as good as when I bought it Shock. I am wearing a work dress today that was tight a few weeks ago and it is very loose Smile. I have some "Before" pictures and will take some "During" photos after 10 days - can't wait to see the difference and I am convinced there will be quite a big difference! It is ONLY 20 minutes and actually yesterday when I did it I was quite disappointed that it ended so quickly - never thought I would say that!!!

BambieO · 04/03/2013 12:52

That's fantastic :) am very happy for you. Fingers crossed it works for me too! I'm doing low calorie with my fitness app on my phone. I can't believe how many calories are in some of the things I used to eat! And wine has gone out of the window for the moment as I was drinking too much for the sake of it, I'm just going to have it on special occasions or when I really want it now, not just because it's there.

I am definitely going to keep going now :)

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 04/03/2013 12:58

I'm on day 8. I seemed to ache less from day 4-7 but I increased my weights yesterday and today was very tough and I'm really aches now.

I'm a bit scared about gong up to level 2!

Spamspamspam · 04/03/2013 13:26

Bambie - wine out of the window here as well - drink far too much of the stuff for the sake of it! Have switched to V&T for when we are out i.e. my birthday coming up so don't want to stay in for that and don't want to be out drinking soda.

BambieO · 04/03/2013 13:29

That's a good point spam I could switch to vodka lime and soda, that's not half as bad is it? Or is it?! Confused I never know! I have drunk wine for so long I don't even remember what anything else tastes like haha

EarlyInTheMorning · 04/03/2013 14:19

I'm exercise phobic but thinking of doing this. How long does each session last and do you do a session every day?

HeySoulSister · 04/03/2013 14:23

It's about half an hour in total

Big fan here too

EarlyInTheMorning · 04/03/2013 14:28

half an hour every day?

Spamspamspam · 04/03/2013 15:00

The idea is to do it everyday yes. However if you can't manage that then you could do it on consecutive days or fewer a week - it will just take longer to see the results. I think the key thing is to try and do 5 days consecutively otherwise I would think it would be hard to return to as you are quite sore in the beginning, if you miss a day you might be put off returning to it!

EarlyInTheMorning · 04/03/2013 15:08

Okay thank you. I hope to get off my arse and give it a go if not today, tomorrow. See that's me, procrastination galore.

BambieO · 04/03/2013 15:11

The time goes really quickly, give it a whirl today!
