I love Bath. I live in Stratford upon Avon so no stranger to tourists either! And yes would be very happy to meet fellow Chiefs. I will even provide some liquorice tea and a private place to poo (though no pressure!).

3lb off this week, goodbye third stone! Fourth stone - you're next.

In your face Fat Randall Grin

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 24/04/2013 11:30

Randall Brilliant yer big loser you. Just 1lb to healthy isn't it now? [should use brain for something useful emoticon]

Double If I'd have realised you were so close I would have raided your garage long ago Wink - don't worry about the private place to poo apparently I can just go in the road.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 24/04/2013 11:31

I like Stratford a lot. I like to waft there a lot.

DoubleMum · 24/04/2013 11:53

Thin Randall fantastic!!!!
What kind of wafting Tea?
I have just treated some of my teak furniture. My heart is sinking as it was blooming hard work and I now see it needs 3 coats - I haven't even done half of one coat, aargh! I wonder what I can enter it as on MFP.

OP posts:
TeaMakesItAllPossible · 24/04/2013 11:58

I like to walk by the river, drink tea and have a scone and watch cultured stuff. In fact I like to be a tourist there Grin

Gardening or Carpentry?

Right I need to go and do RL stuff.

RandallPinkFloyd · 24/04/2013 12:05

Not quite Thin Randall yet but we have definitely progressed from Fat to Chubby!

1.6lb to healthy Tea, got a bit over excited last week and did my sums wrong!

DoubleMum · 24/04/2013 12:14

Ah well roll on the 4th stone and healthiness Chubby Randall. Am still trying to get to my 2nd! I can't imagine what I'd look like after losing 4 stone.

Tea the autumn season at the RSC is very interesting - David Tennant for a start.

Great losses Randall and Lizzy :)

Grin

It's weird, I actually feel any different. I know I look different but I don't feel different iyswim.

I suppose I do feel a bit more confident. I'd got to a point where I was literally trying to hide myself if I went out. Would walk around with my head down, wore baggy clothes, tried to be as invisible as possible.

I still suck my guts in, and I'm far from confident, but I'm not ashamed of how I look anymore.

My arms, legs and face look fine now, it's my stomach that's the problem. I have a serious mum-tum, it's not solid fat anymore, it's all squishy and wobbly, mmmm!

So come on you work-out gurus, what can I do at home that will get rid of the wibbliness?

I have wii Zumba would that help? Cardio I'm alright for as tbh I probably do enough walking to take care of that (running is definitely not for me!) and my legs look fine. My bingo wings are not great but they're not horrendous so I'm not particularly bothered about those either. I need to get rid of gut fat specifically.

Help me Chiefs!

DoubleMum · 24/04/2013 13:00

Isn't 5:2 proving good for tummy fat, as well as exercise? I can't really comment as it's like a whole other person in there. My c-section shelf could hold coffee table books.

OP posts:
RandallPinkFloyd · 24/04/2013 13:10

Is it? That's interesting.

Don't really know how I feel about 5:2ing continuously tbh.

BsshBossh · 24/04/2013 13:32

5:2 has melted my tummy fat more in the past 3 months than my entire year of daily calorie restriction. The only way I can explain it is that because I don't eat for 24 hours my body is burning fat during that period and not fuel (glycogen) from my food. You need to give the body a complete break from food to let the fat be burned. Even better is to exercise in a fasted state (which I've been doing).

No idea if this is exactly what is going on but it seems to be for me. My belt went down two notches last year (11 months) despite losing 3+ stones but this year (3 months) losing 1+ stone it's gone down 3 more notches.

BsshBossh · 24/04/2013 13:35

I still have 3 more inches to go off my tum though despite being near weight goal. I might have to come to terms with the fact that I will always have a tummy. Apparently this is common with Indians (which I am Grin) - we tend to hold fat in our middle sections more than all over.

DoubleMum · 24/04/2013 13:57

Nothing wrong with having a tummy Bssh. I would just be happier with a tummy that didn't look like it had a odd-looking baby in it.

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 24/04/2013 14:04

Randall, Zumba is a fantastic exercise for the core, really great. Also hulahooping Smile
You are a diet goddess.

I love Stratford, near to my homeland and me Mom lives there. I like to waft in the general direction of the Dirty Duck by the river and drink copious amounts on the riverbank opposite. That is where DH and I had our first date Grin

RandallPinkFloyd · 24/04/2013 14:08

That's interesting. I wonder why tummy fat in particular though?

My XH is diabetic so I'm pretty clued up on ketones, ketosis etc. and I've never heard that before. I'm intrigued, I shall do some reading!

If you don't mind me asking where did you carry most of your weight and where did it come off first?

Mine was pretty much all over. It's gone from my legs, arms and face the most. My waist has definitely gone down, I wish I'd measured now but it's down about 4 belt notches and the trousers that were painful to fasten are now falling off so it's got to be at least 3 inches I reckon.

Our numbers are so similar you're like my own personal guru Grin

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 24/04/2013 16:04

I love trouser and belt stories. Measure now. It'll still be worth it.

Tummies are funny if you're female I think. I've still got a tummy despite all the exercise and fasting. I have a two pack on top and then a small barrel. So I'm still holding my tummy in for photos and for walking around the pool when I remember I too look like I am carrying a baby - in a Kate Middleton six months sort of pregnant sort of way (her knees are more elegant than mine and her hair more shiny though)

But the difference now compared to before is it looks ok when I hold it in and doesn't wobble if I'm not running after the toddler to stop him jumping in

To add to what Bssh says I've seen more of an effect on the Chief programme than when I lost the 3 stone earlier but, interestingly, I've put it down to the fact there was more fat to go from my stomach and I've been channelling Jillian's core exercises from the shred when I'm at the gym, rather than thinking it was fasting per se. This is because I carry fat on my arse and thighs and that hasn't shifted as quickly. Might go back and look at 5:2 stuff.

Agree with Lizzie that Zumba and hula hooping might be good for you if you like the dancing type thing. Pilates is fantastic for core and was a good introduction for me to what core was because I had no idea I had one three years ago. Personally, I've enjoyed my results with the stomach exercises on the shred combined with variations of the plank plus a bit of kettlebelling and free weights because to lift the weight above your head (or where ever) you need to tighten the muscles around the core.

Stratford, booze, rivers

DoubleMum · 24/04/2013 16:09

No booze remember, so channel Stratford, elderflower presse, river (not quite the same is it?).

OP posts:
TeaMakesItAllPossible · 24/04/2013 16:10

gin and elderflower presse with tonic is lovely Grin

dinkydoos · 24/04/2013 16:17

randall you really do rock at this dieting lark! I'm sure you have lost every single week, which is really rare ( long term diet obsessive here). Definitely second fasting and some exercise for stomach. My friend always carried her weight on her stomach, and used to moan it went off her boobs when she dieted but she has done fasting and Pilates and she has really reduced her stomach.
Ahhh. Stratford, rivers, beer! Mmmm. Me half hour from there, will see you all at 7pm. Straw boaters for all the chiefs Grin

dinkydoos · 24/04/2013 16:17

Oh. And I baggsy mr Tennant.

BsshBossh · 24/04/2013 16:23

Double you're absolutely right. A curvacious body really suits me so although I want to tone up a bit (with weights) I really want to keep an overall softness. My tummy is part lf that softness I guess Grin. It's just that I keep reading (including Dr "5:2" Moseley's latest interview in the Telegraph) that for best health the waist needs to be half your height. But that may not apply to a mother in her 40s :)

Randall I carried my weight all over but alot on my tummy. My tummy has been the last to reduce so perhaps that's just coincided with the 5:2 diet. Lots of people on the 5:2 threads (here, on MFP and on the Fast Diet website) have talked about tummy fat reducing dramatically. It's quite weird and will be interested in what you find.

dinkydoos · 24/04/2013 16:29

Just noticed lizzy you lost too. Well done chief!
