Welcome home Double, but so sorry for poorly Dd.
Tiger, you have reminded me that I am well overdue a haircut/colour, makes you feel like a laydee, doesn't it?
Tea, glad you are feeling better.
Bssh, I started running by adding 1 minute at a time on the treadmill. Love the plank and dumbbell twists, you honed and toned one.
Randall, you are Mistress of weight loss Grin

Have had my period a week early and it is a painful one. Woke in the night in agony and have got through today by being smacked off my tits on Feminax Grin

Just been for a run which was hard as was warm and very windy ( and I didn't have much in my legs) done now.

Lizzylou · 16/04/2013 19:10

Oh and welcome back Dinky! Smile

BsshBossh · 16/04/2013 19:38

Lizzy wow going for a run despite having a bad period day!

Lizzylou · 16/04/2013 19:53

It helped Bssh, I couldn't have done it last night, was really drained. I did baulk at Insanity though Grin

BsshBossh · 16/04/2013 20:21

Lizzy do you do an Insanity workout even if you're sore from the previous Insanity/gym/run, that is - do you just push through the soreness? I seem to be permanently sore at the moment (well, it's not unbearable and I do like to whinge a bit Grin) now I've ramped the exercise up but I simply want to continue. I am having rest days between weights though... Tea and you?

dinkydoos · 16/04/2013 20:28

Aw, double hope dd feeling better now. Typical, those things always happen on holiday! Wouldn't worry about any holiday gain, i find if you get right back to it, any extra weight can disappear as quickly as it arrived!
tiger glad you like your hair, I think a bit of a colour 'uplift' can really perk you up. My temples show grey hairs these days so I always get my colour done ( wails for loss of youth)
So had done pork in slow cooker with sliced potatoes, gave it to kids for their tea, planning on me and and DP having same a bit later. Gawd, it bland! So, after kids tea, I sort of curried it. Now it's just sort of hot bland Grin wonder if I can have cheese and crackers while DP struggles through it! Fecking slow cooker, don't know why I bother really...
juggles what's your mfp name, always like to look at others gluttony in diaries Grin

Lizzylou · 16/04/2013 20:50

Bssh, at the moment I am alternating workouts, so tend to not do the same thing two nights on the bounce. But yes, I do normally just work through it. Not after weights though, then I do think you need a day in between (heavy ones, not shred/ripped stuff).
I would always stop if the pain doesn't go. With Insanity you don't do the same workout 2 days running in the 1st phase, though I think that changes in month 2.
Then he says ibuprofen to help!
Yesterday and today I just knew anything core focused was a no no so didn't even go thereGrin

BambieO · 16/04/2013 21:07

Aah I have missed so much! I got stuck in RL :( have still been logging and exercising. Not seen a loss yet but will have a sneaky weigh tomorrow.

Had a great gym session after work tonight which hopefully will send me to sleep like a baby :)

Hope you are all having good days x

BambieO · 16/04/2013 21:08

Haha look at me blowing you all a kiss, texting habit but you may keep it and savour it haha

Lizzylou · 16/04/2013 21:08

xxxx back atcha Bambie Grin

Shewhojuggles · 16/04/2013 21:17

Evening Chiefs, hope you are all well?

Have forgone exercise tonight for a night on the couch watching telly, think I may have earned it after losing a big fat four pounds at weigh-in today Grin - feeling very happy! Thanks for all your support on here and MFP - Dinky I'm katmckee1983 on there. You will defo see some gluttony in my diary, just had bread and cheese as a treat! My OH asked me if I checked if the scales were working ok - cheeky bugger.

Must be the combination of this WOE and exercise thats working for me this time. I've never been able to have bad days and still lose weight before. Didnt make it to swimming tonight because i was stuck at the office but did run/brisk walk alternate for 2.85 miles in the rain at 10 last night - nutter Confused Would love to get to 10 mins continuous Bsh. I was doing 20 mins last year but got injured quite alot.

Doublemum thanks for adding me on MFP. Hope your DD is feeling better now you are home.

Shewhojuggles · 16/04/2013 21:21

Oooh and forgot to add, had a bloody lovely low cal tea on y'days fast. pasta (70g) with mushrooms (100g softened in a bit of fry light spray), truffle oil (dash) and parmesan (10g) with a big green salad. I was full and didn;t eat it all but it was very tasty, couldnt believe it was only 274 cals altogether.

BsshBossh · 16/04/2013 22:18

Lizzy thanks.

Well a big fail on my 36 hr fast but managed 24 hrs so not all was lost. Boy did my scrambled eggs on toast with ketchup taste good Grin.

RandallPinkFloyd · 17/04/2013 12:13

Gosh, you're all being so good! I'm a terrible chief, I shall repent this week I promise Blush

Bloody well done juggles, fantastic loss!

I went dress shopping yesterday with a friend, and really enjoyed it! I have two weddings this year, both couples really close friends, so I've been dreading outfit shopping for months. In fact it was one of my big motivators for starting all this chiefing.

We tried on tons of dresses and it was fab. They were all size 14s and all fitted, some actually looked nice. It's given me a massive boost and really made me realise that I have actually lost weight iyswim. Before now it was just numbers.

Unfortunately we had lunch at Red Hot buffet and may have visited a couple of pubs on the way home but in my, admittedly very weak, defence we did walk around for 6 solid hours!

Anyway, somehow after all my splurging I've lost 3.6lb this week. Totally confused but I weighed about 25 times and moved the scales god knows how many times to make sure they were in the exact spot I always put them in and it's definitely right. Maybe there really is something to this "calorie spiking" thing after all.

Hope your daughter feels better soon double.

DoubleMum · 17/04/2013 12:49

Randall I'm beginning to regret giving up alcohol since January. It obviously makes you lose weight!!

OP posts:
RandallPinkFloyd · 17/04/2013 13:15

Apparently so!

I think it's the spiking thing. I generally stick strictly within my 1200 limit every day and the last few weeks it's been slowing down, I only lost a pound and a half last week.

I wouldn't recommend doing it too often but I honestly think shaking things up a bit every so often can kick start things again.

I did two 500 cal days on Thursday and Friday so that seems to have compensated for Saturday, and I'll do another 2 fast days this week to try and make up for yesterday. Then I'll just go back to normal and hope!

RandallPinkFloyd · 17/04/2013 13:29

And bloody well done on staying dry since January Shock
That's some stonking willpower you have there.

BsshBossh · 17/04/2013 13:33

Wow Randall amazing loss! And I think you must be right about the spiking effect. And Double really well done for being dry since January. One of your meals inspired today's lunch: baked sweet potato with cottage cheese. Looking forward to it.

DoubleMum · 17/04/2013 14:33

Well I have to say I'm only dry because DH is (and I did have 1 glass of white wine when a friend brought a bottle round in Feb - seemed rude to say and I'd forgotten to mention it to her). He has used alcohol to self-medicate panic attacks for years so it's rather an issue and I feel I should be offering support. In the house though, I don't miss it at all. Doing a dry cruise was a bit different though. Thank god for mocktails is all I can say, although I don't supposed I'd be impressed to find out how many cals they contained.

OP posts:
DoubleMum · 17/04/2013 14:35

Bssh I need to buy some sweet potatoes. There's actually no fresh food in the house at all as I feel too bleurgh to go shopping. Probably a good way to lose weight though, just not shopping.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 17/04/2013 15:22

Yey, you're back Double - poor DD, that hurts, shingles. And poor you on your hols but lots of walking and still fitting in the trousers - brilliant. And Shock at a dry cruise. You have amazing self control.

Randall and Juggles. Wow. Both of you. Brilliant. I am in awe of you both.

Lovely to go dress shopping for weddings of really good friends. I bet you look lovely rather than "not bad" Grin.

That tea sounds lovely juggles - I will be trying it.

Bssh - at what point is a 24 hour fast a fail? I think that's great. Well done. I'm fasting today and would love a bit of scrambled eggs. mmmmm.

Hope you slept well Bambie - I often find I get really hot and have flushes after the gym so find it really hard to sleep. I suspect it might be my age starting to creep up on me Sad.

Been to the gym and spent 55 minutes on the cross-trainer - training for this blelly 10k whilst trying to protect my knees . Will try to do a long run in the next couple of days. I played hockey yesterday and my weight loss has completely paid off as it was a really, really good, hard, fast game. I did loads of running in the mid-field, scored a couple of goals and got a bloody injury. I like to think it's a proper game if I'm bleeding - luckily only my leg rather than face so I won't look like a loon at my second interview Grin

Bssh I weight train 2-3 times a week. Never consecutive days. I tend to stick with a routine for a couple of weeks and the challenge is to get better at it, then I'll swop to do something slightly different (for example barbells to medicine balls or do more lunging versus more core). I tend to be quite light with my weights - except every 6-8 weeks when I will do what you did the other night and go until I go all wobbly. When I'm exercising between weight days I tend to use cardio or Jillian to keep me moving so the next day hurts aren't so bad IYSWIM.

BsshBossh · 17/04/2013 16:35

Tea detailing your workout really helps. Thanks Flowers. I think I'll stick with my current weights programme for a few weeks then add in some new things (aim is to replace a machine exercise with its equivalent in free weights and bodyweight).

24 hour fast is not a fail but I'm quite a driven person and like to achieve the goals I set for myself so in that sense it was a fail. Don't worry, I didn't cry or anything Grin.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 17/04/2013 17:50

Me too Bssh, me too. I must be really irritating to live with Grin but we get a lot done and the boys get a lot of experiences

dinkydoos · 17/04/2013 18:27

randall so impressed! Honestly I bet you look so very different, and bet that clothes shopping trip did wonders for you!
Bssh, tea, lizzy flipping heck you are so inspiring. I have been gym going a fair bit, and have been doing some free weights seeing as you keep extolling the virtues, but tbh I am sort of making it up. Don't think I am cutting the mustard in terms of looking like the real deal iyswim Grin

BsshBossh · 17/04/2013 20:26

LOL dinky I'm hardly the real deal either when it comes to weights - I hide out in the screened off women's section of the gym when I do them Grin. When I feel more confident I'll join the big boys and girls!
