The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here

Three weeks to go!

How are you all doing?

Anyone Ubercamping this week?

Good luck. Still time to shed almost half a stone if you really stick to your knitting! Grin

I went for a run this morning. Had small dinner last night and my stomach was rumbling before we left, but the energy was there for me - however much I miss cake, I love having all of that energy on tap. For me fat burning feels as if my energy is coming from all of my body, whereas carb burning seemed to come from my stomach, so depended on my last meal.

B: buttery scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, coffee with cream
L: big salad with oily dressing
D: not sure - have got a big celeriac, so might do a dauphanoise, DH does a nice one with added layers of fish and prawns, so it's a sort of fish pie effort.

Valdeeves sorry to hear you're feeling a bit lonely. Would you like to join me on MFP and laugh at the amount of tea I drink?

Iamaslummymummy · 28/02/2013 08:58

Lovely breakfast. Not really in the bc rules due to the whey protein but not bad and very filling

Makes 2 servings
1/2 cup tvp
1 tbsp desiccated coconut
2 tbsp almond flour
1 egg
2 cups milk (I used unsweetened soya)
Cinnamon
1 tbsp peanut butter
1 scoop vanilla whey protein.

Whizz it all up and microwave. I microwaved half of it for 3 minutes.

WillieWaggledagger · 28/02/2013 09:01

Well done blackaffronted on a low carb birthday!

What lovely news hazchem Thanks

WillieWaggledagger · 28/02/2013 09:04

cathy you're back on the spreadsheet

JakeBullet · 28/02/2013 09:17

Back to severe sweet craving this morning...I am NOT hungry so this is addiction....a bit like a smoker desperate for a fag. I am sipping my "one coffee with a splash of cream" at the moment.

I have been shopping and now have sparkling water plus.....the Teapigs Liquorice and Peppermint tea. Not tried it yet but am prepared to like it......especially as it wasn't cheap.

I am going to overcome this craving.....it's already fading for the moment. No artificial sweetened drinks now in the house....DS had the last Pepsi Max last night.

No luck on my hunt for celeriac though....,perhaps there's no call for it in Essex Grin.

BIWI · 28/02/2013 09:53

Ooh Lavender - that fish/celeriac thing sounds lovely - could you get your Dh to share the recipe with us?

Jake - good for you on resisting the urge. It's the siren call of sugar, that's all!

"Peel and quarter celeriac. Slice thinly (quartering is so that all slices are around the same size). Put knob of butter into pan with S&P and squashed garlic, melt the butter, turn heat right down and pour cream in - don't let it split.

Butter a roasting dish, layer slices of celeriac, layer of salmon (pause here...er...bits? chunks?), pour some cream over, layer of celeriac, sprinkle on some prawns, celeriac, more cream. Make sure top layer is celeriac. Pour over rest of cream. Bake for 40 minutes."

DH is working from home, and was trying to finish a call and do some other work - but recipe should make sense.

If I'm in the kitchen I'll put a pinch of mace in the cream and maybe sprinkle some dill over the salmon.

That's definitely dinner sorted for tonight Smile

BIWI · 28/02/2013 10:39

Any idea how much cream for a whole celeriac?

OP posts:
LavenderBriggs · 28/02/2013 10:40

"a big tub"

LavenderBriggs · 28/02/2013 10:41

Have checked fridge - 600ml.

DH is being told to write clearer recipes.

BIWI · 28/02/2013 12:15
Grin

That sounds really fab and I'm definitely going to try that one next week.

WillieWaggledagger · 28/02/2013 12:22

that does sound lovely. could i just check whether the salmon is pre-cooked?

BlackAffronted · 28/02/2013 12:39

Ive made the celeriac thing with smoked salmon in the layers, it was delicious! Like the sound of prawns in it too.

Making a salad with asparagus, boiled eggs & homemade coleslaw plus lots of rocket & watercress.

Have spent the morning making Red Nose Day cookies for a blog promotion I am doing. I couldnt bring myself to make any with sugar in them, so made savoury ones instead Grin They still did have some flour, but the rest was cheese, spring onion, passatta and a wee slice of cherry tomato on top! Quite proud of myself. Wont be testing any either.

Lovely news Hazchem! Our first bootcamp wedding (I think).

Have we had a bootcamp baby yet?

Womenand chickens, I work in a uni and we have in the past allowed people to sit a resit as a first attempt for close family weddings / weddings where the person is bridesmaid etc. It's real life and we have to work round it. Hope it resolves itself. What are you wearing as mother of the bride?

I gave blood yesterday (equipped with ham and babybel to avoid the biscuits afterwards) and my iron levels are right up. I am often a bit borderline on the iron but yesterday it sank straight away to the bottom and the nurse commented on how well I must look after myself to have high iron. Fuelled by bacon and red wine meat, that's me. Thanks for all the support.

I have swum 3 times this week and am going again tomorrow. I may not be lighter but I feel thinner and have bags of energy.

Enjoy the rest of your day lovely girls.

LavenderBriggs · 28/02/2013 13:02

Salmon is fresh and it cooks through well. I like the idea of smoked salmon, but we had that with breakfast - now I don't buy carbs I have more money to spend on lovely protein.

I have bought fresh dill and taken salmon steak out of freezer. I'm happy that DH's recipe is being used, I think he'll quietly be a bit chuffed.

JakeBullet · 28/02/2013 13:38

I am still to track down a celeriac in Essex Grin, bet I'll get one in Waitrose.

WillieWaggledagger · 28/02/2013 13:43

fab thanks lavender

i did finals a few years ago and had a couple of exams on saturdays. it was horrible (and luckily for me didn't conflict with anything other than paid work shifts which could easily be sorted) but it was simply a case of too many students/exams and not enough rooms to put them in. we had exams in some weird places too, including the staff room of a nearby shopping centre iirc! do tell us what you're planning to wear womenandchickensfirst!

syb that's good to know about your iron levels, always nice to have the confirmation.

we did have at least one person who got pregnant last year, i think she left bootcamp as obviously want to be careful about ketosis and pregnancy (dangers are unproven as i understand but of course no one would want to take the risk, though i know people have kept going with low carb in pregnancy to good effect just not as strictly as boot camp).

WillieWaggledagger · 28/02/2013 13:44

jake they're not always where you think they would be - i was looking near root vegetables in sainsbury's, but they had them near the herbs/root ginger etc

Womenandchickensfirst · 28/02/2013 13:56

Many thanks sybilfaulty, that does make me feel better, that you have direct experience. I'm feeling calmer today - there's obviously a way round it! Apparently they let people who have 'important sporting fixtures at international level' swap, and this wedding feels like it's as important! Tee hee. And Biwi too, it's crazy! I think the problem is that if she doesn't pass then there's no resit available, but she's a proper brainy haystacks, so don't think that will be an issue (crosses fingers and touches wood).

What to wear is an issue. I've made an appointment with a personal shopper in our House of Fraser for 28 March, so I have another month to lose some more weight. Thinking of all the photos that will be taken is a great motivator when faced with biscuits!

I'm intending to keep up with this WOE bootcamp light stylee at least until the wedding, which is end of May, so highly likely I'll be where I want to be by then ( invokes more wood and fingers). I think I dress well now (but how do we ever know?), so hoping the personal shopper can advise. If it doesn't work out there then I still have time to do John Lewis/ independent shops/ trip to London if necessary. I feel too young for typical MoB garb, but want to be fabulous!

The scales were kind this morning! Back on the yoghurt, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon today. The celeriac and salmon sounds well worth a go! Thank you.

Good luck to mrsrinky for her interview today. Please let us know how it goes.

JakeBullet · 28/02/2013 14:08

Ah....been looking for them in the wrong place. Herbs and root ginger section for me later then. Thank you.

NoveltySlippers · 28/02/2013 14:19

Hi all

I work in a uni too and I would say if you don't ask, you don't get; if you ask, you might get...!

PS. Congrats hazchem Smile

WillieWaggledagger · 28/02/2013 14:23

sainsbury's categories are weird anyway - in the one i go to courgettes come under 'exotic vegetables' Confused

mumat39 · 28/02/2013 14:26

Hello everyone.

MrsRinky, good luck for today and hope it goes well!

I'm not going to list what I ate yesterday other than to say it was all sugary twat stuff.

I'm trying to put that behind me and get on with it but was wondering if anyone could maybe suggest a nice herbal tea that I could try.

So far I have tried but not liked:
Dragon fly Cape Malay rooibos chai tea
Fennel
Mango orange mango and cinnamon
Chamomile with spiced apple
Peppermint

I couldn't find the red cherry one someone mentioned on one of the other bootcamp threads.

My favourite so far has been liquorice but I found I was getting cramp in my calves with that one as I think it affects potassium.

So, are there any other suggestions for a sweet tasting tea that tastes as good asit smells. All the ones I've tried so far have smelt lovely but tasted like water with a bit of lemon in it.

I find it easier to drink a hot drink that lots of cold water. I do have hot water with some coconut oil in it, but just need something more tasty.

Thanks in advance. Xxx

Iamaslummymummy · 28/02/2013 14:36

I hated the licquorice tea but got the cherry tea in track. I love it. Aldi shop tomorrow so will try their fruit tea.

Iamaslummymummy · 28/02/2013 14:36
