Droppy thoughts Grin
Yesterday was terrible. Seems like if IT start on sugar I can't stop. Malteesers, marshmallows... I know I shouldn't buy them in the first place. Was miserable. Did sort out fridge and part of cupboard and throw a lot away and get my haircut so wasn't entirely wasted evening. Have done 30 day shred for second time in June. Ao much for everyday. Must dash! Hope you all snack healthy today :)

HotelTangoFoxtrotUniform · 05/06/2013 08:12

Second time in four days is good jchoc - take the positive rather than the negative and do it again tonight!

Seems everyone had a tough day yesterday. Had I been home during the afternoon I would have troughed everything in sight. Fortunately (?) I had an exam so was stuck in a room I couldn't leave.

CecyHall · 05/06/2013 09:47

riverboat I've been on MFP for a while, although not in the threads here. Previously I do well for a week or two and then something will happen (going out/totm/general boredom) and I'll eat really badly for weeks and put everything back on.

hotel hope the exam went well!

Peanutbutterfingers · 05/06/2013 16:47

Jchocchip I'm exactly the same, as soon as a bit of sugar goes in I'm like a demon hunting down every last sweet in the house. It's hard to have no treats at all in, I have a toilet training 3yo and a constant need for choc buttons!

Newrowsees · 05/06/2013 18:08

Hi all, hasn't it been a glorious day?! The weather makes such a difference to people's moods, it seems - people were actually smiling today!

I've done my exercise in the mornings for the last couple of days and really enjoyed it - I would say I'd make it a regular thing, but I know I'm too lazy. It just happens that at the moment our bathroom is being renovated so I have to go to the gym for a shower anyway. But it's been good while it lasted - I feel so wholesome for the rest of the day!

I didn't know whether to say this or not, as I don't want to tempt fate, but I've been on MFP for exactly a month today and I've lost 20.5lbs - am really quite pleased with myself Grin. Actually, the first 6lbs were almost certainly water weight, but it just shows how much I was over-eating before I started. I plugged in an average day and it came to over 4,000 calories Blush. I just hope I don't end up doing that again. It would be easy, but having some of you on there as friends is so good for accountability, as I'd be too embarrassed for you to see what I was eating before - it was madness!

Newrowsees · 05/06/2013 18:09

Hope that doesn't sound gloaty - please note, I still have a loooong way to go before I'm at my proper pre-pregnancy goal weight. And my tummy looks like I'm using it for storage!

Peanutbutterfingers · 05/06/2013 19:33

It's not gloaty it's fantastic! Well done, apparently that's equivalent to a car tyre. Hope that's a boost to keep going x

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 05/06/2013 20:04

Newrosees - that's brilliant!! Well done!

I seem to be pretty good during the day then I get to the evening and just want to graze.

Have done lots of walking with a loaded double buggy, up lots of hills, this week so I'm hoping that will have a positive effect Smile

eslteacher · 05/06/2013 20:53

Well done new roses! Not gloaty at all, just great progress.

I've had a bad day after a run of good...instead of going home after work, exercising and making a healthy meal as planned, I met some friends in a pub. Had 2 mojitos and a cheeseburger and chips. Was damn good though! Back on the wagon tomorrow...

Ledkr · 05/06/2013 21:52

Ok do wasn't too bad. Had no bread then a bit if all the rice/pasta salads and a tiny bit of pizza.
Then had minuscule bits of pavlova and bannoffee so not great but not a disaster either.
I made. Healthy stir fry tonight but had quite a lot if rice but I have been swimming which makes me hungry.
I've not lost for a bit so I really need to get back on track.

jchocchip · 05/06/2013 22:15

My day starts so well then the evening ruins it all again! Hmmm must take healthy snack for bus home...

HotelTangoFoxtrotUniform · 06/06/2013 08:56

Leapt Fell off the wagon last night - met DH after work instead of spinning and drank wine, even though I said I'd be dry this month, ate cake and had a fabulous time!

I'm beginning to think this is too hard - I should be happy at 9st11. I'm an 8/10 and must be bonkers to think I should be smaller, surely? I just want that magic lower number on the scales, and it moves so slowly as I have so little to lose! I think focussing on the gym and strength/speed etc might make it less hard. Who knows though.

Off to spin off my hangover. Wish me luck.

awaywego1 · 06/06/2013 09:11

How's everyone doing? I had a week off but got back on it on Monday. Managed to maintain at 9.1 which I'm very pleased with as i did eat a lot of rubbish but my week involved moving house so was probably cancelled out by cleaning and lifting.
Another 4 pounds to go before I reach my target. I'd like to see 9 stone by next week but totm is due very soon so we shall see!

Peanutbutterfingers · 06/06/2013 09:28

Hoteltango I was thinking about this last night, considering the 'maintenance' stage of weight loss and realised I have never got that far because I cannot imagine being 'thin enough'.

Even when I was 9st I was working for 8.5st. I simply cannot fathom being happy with my body.

That's shit isn't it :)

And wondering why I've started this week when I get to go to a 'nice' restaurant to ight (I literally cannot remember the last time I ate out anywhere but soft play) and BBQ/camping at the weekend. I know you don't have to stuff yourself at a BBQ, but so show I always do...

Have a good day peeps x

Newrowsees · 06/06/2013 10:49

Ah HT, that changes everything - I didn't realise you had so little to lose (if any!). Well you should definitely increase your allowance then, surely? Admittedly I'm not an expert, but it seems like if you can fit into a size 8, you could afford to start getting closer to your maintenance allowance...? What is your goal weight based on?

HotelTangoFoxtrotUniform · 06/06/2013 11:09

My goal weight is based on lunacy, I think. I'm heavy for my build - I read a thread on how much people weigh at 5'4", and was gobsmacked at how little everyone else weighed - all these 8st7 people, and many claimed to be bigger than me. I'm sure they probably were, but I sometimes get obsessed with the number on the scale which should be a byproduct not an aim of a healthy life.

I suppose another issue is that I don't want to accept that I won't be the same weight as I was at 21. I'm on a bit of a downer about it all. DH despairs of me because I complain about being dumpy and have honestly no idea of what I look like - I can't see the difference between me at 12 1/2st and me now, though I know there is one. Like I say, lunacy.

Sorry to be all self involved and me, me, me.

What is everyone doing with the sunshine? I'm stuck inside avoiding doing coursework.

Mitchy1nge · 06/06/2013 15:11

ah hello everyone, am just cartwheeling into the thread to see if anyone will be my friend on MFP so I can waste hours and hours and hours reading your eating and activity diaries :) am only v rarely on an actual computer though so don't know how to

have been tracking food and exercise on there for ages with no idea it was a big community thing, thought was just private app Confused

Mitchy1nge · 06/06/2013 15:21

I can't work out how to change my MFP username or ANYTHING

CecyHall · 06/06/2013 18:27

I'm so incredibly full of pmt I want to eat everything in the co-op. except the animal stuff, it's not got that bad. I can hear myself saying ridiculous things to DH the poor man.

Must avoid the cupboards at all costs!

Ledkr · 06/06/2013 19:54

My goal is about 12 stone from 13.6 I am a 16 and was a 12 at 12 stone and was once a ten stone ballet dancer (very skinny) weight is nothing

jchocchip · 07/06/2013 04:07

Mitchy I used the app for ages before I discovered the website. Think I was better at it with just the app tbh! Feel free to add me, same username as on here... will be around a long time as have lots to lose Blush

LoveBeingUpAt4InTheMorning · 08/06/2013 11:03

Hello all am going to be starting on Monday and could do with some friends to help keep me on track Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 08/06/2013 11:05

Hope everyone is doing well, losing and enjoy their food. I have decided its time to take the jump of not logging. I know what I'm doing but I still rely on logging it. I guess it's not the worst thing in the world but after almost a year of maintenance I need to trust myself!

OP posts:
eslteacher · 08/06/2013 11:47

Hi and welcome LoveBeing - is your MFP username the same as your mumsnet one? How many calories are you going to be aiming for?

Cinnamon - wow, big step. I think you're doing the right thing, realistically it's impossible to imagine logging everything I eat for the rest of my life! But MFP is working so well for me I fear the day I stop logging... Will you still be calorie counting in your head, or just generally trying to follow the principles of what you know you can/can't eat? I'll be really interested to hear how you get on.

I've had a good couple of days after my cheeseburger, chips and cocktails wobble midweek. This morning have done Shred Level 2 (arrrghh) and am just eating brunch: shiitake mushrooms and bacon chopped and lightly fried, mixed with scrambled eggs. Going to a friend's house this evening for dinner and I think she's planning some sort of cheese-based feast, so will try to hold off for the rest of the day except for a light snack later, to allox maximum cheesage tonight! I'll be driving too, which will at least mean I won't be tempted to go overboard on the wine...

LoveBeingUpAt4InTheMorning · 08/06/2013 12:02

It's LoveWearingSkinnyJeans.

Have it set up for 1100, once I'm back in the flow I'll drop it. What are you on?
