just put it In an search, most aldi stuff I have is on there.

:( that really embarrassing fir both of you, id be tempted to come back with " I can do something about my cake bump, pity you can't do anything about your face"

hoping for better days all round.

meso · 12/04/2013 07:57

Sorry a lot of you are finding it tough at the mo, I am too and in blaming the weather! I find it much easier to eat healthy when its warm! Feel free to add me - am missmou on MFP. I am actually getting somewhere since adding friends on there, it really makes you think about what you're eating and if you really want to add it publicly to your diary! Keep going, you CAN do it!!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 12/04/2013 08:03

Poor you Samnella, well done for sticking to the diet though.

I think twice before eating anything Meso so that I don't have to log it, I do like the public humiliation side of it. I've never done WW/SW but obviously the weekly weigh ins would be a good motivator for me.

What to have today, I haven't been shopping so there's bugger all in...

MrsBucketxx · 12/04/2013 08:26

I weigh myself in on mfp, and keep track weekly, gives me something to aim for and the fact its shown on my profile helps.

Moneypennyf2 · 12/04/2013 20:29

Hi, I think I am being stupid. Can anyone tell me hoe to add people from here on Myfitnesspal using a username?

Thanks,
F

awaywego1 · 12/04/2013 20:53

Hi money- you have to be on the website rather than app to do it. Go to search for friends in home I think. Hth.

cinnamongreyhound · 12/04/2013 21:43

You can add from the app, go to add by email and then just enter username.

Sorry to hear that Samnella, think of all the lovely comments you'll soon be getting Grin

I have gone over today but plan on pulling back tomorrow. I have meal planned using the BBC good food site and been shopping. I am sure half of my failure is due to not planning. I have also bought some nakd bars as snacks as someone recommended them.

Samnella · 13/04/2013 09:47

4lbs down and 2 inches off my waist. Despite my moaning.

Movingforward123 · 13/04/2013 10:40

Samnella - well done Grin

Ive been within my calories everyday for 3 days which is an achievement for me, but I havnt lost anything yet Hmm

I was shopping all day yesterday, what would you log that as on mfp? I just did slow walking as I eat over my calories and need more for all the food Grin

awaywego1 · 13/04/2013 14:44

Hey moving-I tend to log it as moderate walking but only log half as I think mfp over calculates calories burnt-so today I've walked into town and around for 4 hours but have added 2. I think other people do t differently and I might be being over cautious!

Movingforward123 · 13/04/2013 15:48

I think it over calculates too! I did slow pace and halved the time Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 13/04/2013 17:59

Well done Samnella that's great!

I think some things it over calculates and others under. I bought a hrm so add things in using that. If I'm wandering I don't add it but then I have mine set to lightly active and think things like that are included in it.

Starting MFP today. Six stone to lose after two DSs, now 5 and 3. Im Working as well, so find it hard to balance everything. Went wedding dress shopping with size 10, no kids, BF yesterday ( and basically glad it wasn't me, as felt so ashamed of myself!) been lurking on th thread for a while, and now is the time to step up!

BananasInBikinis · 14/04/2013 17:32

Hi all, I am planning to start MFP tomorrow, so would love to join this thread.

I have been trying to lose about 6kgs (around a stone I think - I am used to metric system) for a while. So I lose a couple of kilos then put it back on again when something such as Easter comes along.

I have a black-tie event on 25th May, so would love if I could maintain the motivation to do MFP and exercise 5 times a week, and hopefully get into a smaller sized dress than usual by then! I have a couple of new Davina DVD's and might alternate these with Jillian DVD's.

wheredidiputit · 14/04/2013 17:47

Right I back, and I am going to MFP properly and I also going to try to do at least 10,000 steps a day but aim for 13,000.

I know I can do it as I have already lost 30lb so really need to get on and lose the rest, at least another 30lbs if not more.

On a different note has anyone seen Secret Eater programme on channel 4. I'm really shocked that the people on it don't/can't see how much they are eating.

cinnamongreyhound · 14/04/2013 20:54

Welcome poshdjc, I lost 5 1/2st in 8 months last year using mfp. It really is a great way to lose weight! Don't feel ashamed feel positive that you are doing something about it. All of a sudden you'll realise you're well on your way and feel great.

Welcome BananasInBikinis, mfp is easy to stick to as its very flexible. You can eat less one meal or exercise more on a day you know you're going to have one large meal or treat. As long as you're organised and plan its fantastic, I recommend putting things in before you eat them.

Welcome back wheredidiputit you've already done so well. I know, it amazes me what people don't see about eating but I think its a lot of not wanting to see it. A lot of people are in denial about portion sizes particularly.

Thanks cinnamongreyhound for the welcome and the great advice Smile. I'm quite looking forward to starting tomorrow!

wheredidiputit · 14/04/2013 22:09

I know Cinnamon. I had to laugh at this week's one, where the lady carefully peeled cut and then steamed all their vegetable then drown it in cheese sauce and not realise that she adding 1000's cal.

awaywego1 · 14/04/2013 22:12

Waves to all the new people Grin feel free to add me-same name as here-the last few days for me have been an excellent example of how not to do things-loads of booze, processed food and treats-I normally eat much better than this and always get my 5 a day so don't know what's happened but i plan to rectify this week.

Remarkably though I've still managed to come under cals so am hoping once totm has passed I might see some loss-it's a bit disheartening not to have lost anything atall but I will be patient and persevere.

Movingforward123 · 15/04/2013 09:12

Away - I also havnt been Great this weekend! But I would say much better then normal! I started mfp on weds and havnt lost anything yet Hmm Saturday I went over my calories an put a pound on but its gone now and im back to starting weight!

I put myself in 1400 cals instead of 1200 as I really struggle and on 1400 cals I'm not struggling and can eat enough food and still have a little snack! Do you think I will still loose weight this way? Or should I just go back to 1200 cals?

I might give it more time as its the time of the month an that might be why Hmm

awaywego1 · 15/04/2013 09:37

Hey moving-you should still lose weight eating that definately-if you read the mfp forums it's very much encouraged for you to work out your tdee and eat at 20% below that for weightloss- rather than sticking to 1200-which is the bare minimum that mfp give anyone.
I'm attempting to stick to 1300 because I only want to lose around 8-10 pounds and I'm very very sedentary.
Hopefully we will both start to see the scales move soon Grin

BananasInBikinis · 15/04/2013 10:46

Hi All, I'm going to try to add people if that's okay. (My name on MFP is kathnight.)

Movingforward123 · 15/04/2013 16:45

Away - thanks I didn't know anything about tdee Grin which calculator do you use? I have tried two and they came up with different answers!

So is that you should have 20%less then your tdee or atlest 20% less?

My tdee on one was 1733 so take away 20% is 1386 and I'm 5'2 and weight 10.6 Confused

Movingforward123 · 15/04/2013 16:46

Bananas - add me Grin my name is: krissycat on mfp it's good to have friends so you can see what everyone is eating!
