Just thought I would start a new thread, seeing as we are perilously close to the 1000 posts cut off!

We have all started WW this January and so far so good, we are all losing. This is a really supportive group. Please feel free to join us and share your WW tips and any recipes that you may have. Smile

Fled I'll kick you up the arse if you promise to kick me back. Everyone else I know when they've had a very "naughty" day get back on track the next day and claw some of the damage back. Me, oh no, I go even more mad the next day and make things doubly worse. Weight in tomorrow night and dreading it. Must do something next week, the pounds are starting to pile back on.

jazzcat28 · 21/03/2013 21:12

.....flying in quickly to let you know that Birds Eye potato waffles are 3pp for THREE!!!!.....

......off to point up more hidden treasures in my freezer....

MsIngaFewmarbles · 21/03/2013 21:51

Hi, could I please join the thread? I started last week, I have around 3 1/2 stone to lose. Really chaotic week but I lost 6lbs Shock The tracking alone seems to be helping my eating habits massively. I can still eat bits and pieces of rubbish as long as I accept that it means I have to be careful with what else I eat.

Quick question about the HB cookbook, does it have all the nutritional info in the book or do you just add the recipes into the calculator? Also how compatible are the recipes with WW?

STIDW · 22/03/2013 00:06

Tracking alone is good. I do WW Online and don't go to classes. A couple of years ago I lost over 10st and halved my body weight. Unfortunately I've put on about 3 st again!

Actually once I put my mind to it I don't find losing weight too difficult but this time I'm thinking of going to classes when I get to goal to get the hang of maintenance.

Today I managed to lose 2.2lb at weigh in so that's 20lbs in 10 weeks. Discovered Waitrose's buttermilk and blueberry pancakes are 2 points each, the same as the ordinary buttermilk ones. I was a bit disappointed with the blueberry ones and prefer the buttermilk only. Anyway going to bed now as I'm getting peckish.

Good luck everyone.

mrsXsweet · 22/03/2013 03:30

Ms inga, someone earlier in the thread has very kindly pointed all the recipes in the hd cookbook. If you are a member of esource there us a recipe builder where u add the ingredients and it tells u the points. Unfortunately it needs flash so won't work on phone/iPad.
I lost another pound this week, which I am pretty pleased with as I have been eating my (not insignificant) body weight in chocolate.
I am wondering whether to try and do low carb for a couple of weeks to kick start the weight loss.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 22/03/2013 07:40

Fanfare please.

Crunchie is in the 13s Shock

I'm so happy. 12lbs lost now. Couldn't have done it without the support of you lovely people Thanks Thanks Thanks

bigTillyMint · 22/03/2013 08:04

Crunchies, well done!Flowers

And STIDW - 10 stoneShock that is an amazing loss!

Peachy, I agree 26points is pants - probably why I don't seem to really be losing the last little bit (with only a week to go to my hols, where I'll probably pile on the pounds!)

OhTheConfusion · 22/03/2013 08:34

Morning everyone... catch up time!

Welcome to our newbies, it really is a fab thread! Grin.

Go Crunchie Go!!! I am so hoping to join you within a fortnight.

Sally, I am now on 31 and finding a real change form 33 Sad... I dread to imagine 26.

Well DH came good in the end and produced not only a card and flowers but a bag of nice food from marks and sparks Hmm. Luckily for him I had already made dinner and it was a bit more WW friendly. I did duck into my weeklies to eat baguette and chocolate though. I will have to be good today and then I will still have some extras for Sat and Sun.

Really not liking the return of snow.

AddictedtoCrunchies · 22/03/2013 10:29

Updated spreadsheet

chillyigloo · 22/03/2013 10:29

chillyigloo sheepishly creeps back into the thread after being AWOL from weight watchers for 3 weeks

Hello all you lovely people. I'm back after giving up for a few weeks. Got a bit despondent with slow losses and staying the same weight but went back to the meeting on Tuesday and am back on track now. I think I had to accept that now I'm on my last 3/4 stone to lose, it's going to be a slow journey. Giving up isn't going to get me there though is it?!?

Have spent a few days catching up with the thread and you're all doing so well

fledtoscotland · 22/03/2013 12:07

Updated my stats and still the heaviest Blush

Lots going on atm and finding it difficult to focus but trying to get myself back on track today thanks to crunchies foot meeting my arse Shock

fledtoscotland · 22/03/2013 12:08

Sorry it was paws foot not crunchies but its big enough for two feet anyway !

peachypips · 22/03/2013 13:11

Well done you lot! This is a great thread- lots of traffic and regulars which is so helpful.
I have added myself to the stats- was that the right thing to do? Put my start weight as the weight I am today rather than at beginning.
fled I would have been one of the heaviest when I started last year- just think, in a year you could be one of the lightest!!
What is the HD cook book?
Tilly I am in the same position- have slowed right down and finding it hard not to cheat with 26! I am also going on hol in a week and I really don't want to bugger it up!

peachypips · 22/03/2013 13:14

My actual start weight was 16.2 btw.

chillyigloo · 22/03/2013 13:23

One of the things that me and the leader discussed at the meeting on Tuesday about my static weight was the true points of fruit. She said that whilst fruit was 0pp it shouldn't be considered as 'free' and that portion control was crucial, especially when you're down to that last stubborn stone.

The example she gave was that if you calculate the propoints of grapes based on their nutritional information they come in at 2pp per 100g, so a 500g punnet is a whopping 10pp! The health benefits of the fruit sort of outweigh the costs which is why they're 0pp, but if you were eating a punnet a day (as I sometimes did) plus a couple of bananas, an apple or two etc, the hidden points can show on the scales.

So, my aim this week is to control my portion size of my 0pp treats. (I say this gaving already eaten half a punnet of grapes and a banana today Blush )

Those 2pp mini malteaser bunnies are calling me - no hidden points there! ...

peachypips · 22/03/2013 13:42

Hmmm that's interesting Chilly as I have just started eating more fruit to compensate for the 26 point thing. I'll have to switch to veg :-(

AddictedtoCrunchies · 22/03/2013 13:43

Fled mine are size 9 so consider yourself kicked Smile

jazzcat28 · 22/03/2013 13:51

Peachy the HD book is the Hairy Dieter's Cookbook currently £7 on Amazon here

Recipes DH and I love include the beef chilli, sweet & sour chicken, sweet chilli salmon, spanish chicken bake.

Crunchie I am so pleased for you that you've got into the 13's!!!

Am also a little Envy as I can't imagine being there myself yet - I'm 10lb away from that little milestone. WI tomorrow but am having to do it at my mum's on her digi scales instead of meeting as we are visiting her for the weekend. So of course, any fluctuation in the wrong direction will be down to the weighing equipment and not the wine

Welcome to the newbies, this is such a motivational thread, I really think we can crack this diet if we stick together. I love hearing about everyone's little successes, it really helps me keep going.

peachypips · 22/03/2013 14:27

Thanks Jazz - off to Amazon I go!

MsIngaFewmarbles · 22/03/2013 18:59

Oh thank you so much, book arrived today, I shall annotate now :)

Could I ask, if you go to meetings, has your leader asked you for a goal weight? I seem to remember agreeing one when I did WW many moons ago.

I am so happy to be here, it really helps, I met a lovely woman at my meeting who is very supportive but she looks so tall and skinny already :(

backinaminute · 22/03/2013 19:47

Hi all, I've updated the spreadsheet too. Still ticking along here. Going to be a hard week this week because it's ds1's 2nx birthday - party on Sunday, birthday tea on Monday and full day out on Wednesday.... I don't want to scupper though so will try and make good choices.

I have however agreed to go to a pudding night at the end of april with a big group of friends. Looks amazing but I think it might be a million points.

My leader hasn't asked me for a goal weight - I thought it was odd but it's so far away I haven't dwelled on it Grin.

My leader did talk about Easter eggs though - a big Lindt bunny is 76 points!!!!!!! (Is it bad that I could easily polish one of those off with a pit of tea).

At the moment I'm going to the meetings because I got 3 months free by being referred by the health visitor. It's nearly run out and I can't decide whether to sign up for meetings or just do online. In some way I quite like the 'fear' of a meeting and the shame factor that will make me stick to it but the timing is rubbish (dc bedtime 6.30) and I'm trying to get 4 month old ds2 into a better bedtime routine. Anyone got any strong opinions either way? By doing it online, how does it work? Is it just the esourse that I use now? Such a quandary......

backinaminute · 22/03/2013 19:49

POT of tea even (though pit sounds appealing if accompanied by biscuits). Talking of which, an indulgent treat - 5 rich tea biscuits for 4pp. Rich tea biscuits are the answer to my choc philli dilemma too Grin

Livinginorganisedchaos · 22/03/2013 20:04

Very happy as 1.5 lbs off on today's weigh in. Not sure how that happened TBH as had ate all my weeklies and may have had a few extras. Still, it is so motivating to know as long as I am good and track at least some of the time, it seems to be working for me.

I am another 26 pointer and I find I need to eat all of my weeklies and most of my activity points just not to feel as though I am starving. My weight loss has probably averaged about a pound a week over the last 2 months but I have accepted a slow loss in return for being able to eat my weeklies.
