Sorry for the late start to this thread. I had an appointment at my gym for an induction this morning.

If you haven't already, put yourself on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Good luck for the week!

Oh dear you got BUSTED catinboots!!! Wink

QuickLookBusy · 09/02/2013 20:35

Choos you look amazing, I think you really deserve that dress!

Black congratulations, that's an amazing thing to do, I hope you're very proud of yourself.

Doshusallie · 09/02/2013 20:53

Gless sorry you are also poorly.

Would you cut ham up first?

Good food magazine this month has a rather yummy looking meat loaf made with mince and bacon, 3 carbs per serving. Only blooming low carb thing in it though.

JustasmallGless · 09/02/2013 21:32

The recipe just had the ham slice sitting in the muffin tin iyswim, pushed down then egg cracked into it. Also lots of egg muffin things with lots of veggies in- like a frittata bit muffin shape and easy to take to work

Hope you feel better soon- hot toddy is going down a treat plus it was prescribed by my Granny so got to be allowed! I didn't fess up that I was using Glenmorangie or think I would be in trouble!

Black- well done you!! That is such an achievement - really proud of you. I think managed to sponsor you last night- such a brilliant cause too

mumat39 · 09/02/2013 21:45

Choos, WOW! You look amazing! And in 10 months. I need to lose about 3 stone and your pics are definitely inspirational.

Black! Well done! 8 hours of zumba'ing! Amazing! Hope you enjoyed your dinner! Ps. My DS hasn't been very well today so I haven't had a chance to do the sponsorship yet. But I will do! Promise!

Xxx

mumat39 · 09/02/2013 21:46

Gless, hope you're feeling better soon.

Here's a hot toddy Brew for you. And some hugs (((())))

timidviper · 09/02/2013 22:04

I had been doing really well and then yesterday I fell off the wagon and landed with a very substantial thump! I really fancied a chinese and the only saving grace is that whereas I would once have eaten all of it, this time I gave DH some (me giving chinese away is close to a miracle!) Woke up this morning feeling full and simulataneously starving but have been good today.

Black Well done, brilliant achievement!

Gless I think I saw something like that on a recipe thread somewhere once, sounds lovely and I have some nice parma ham in the fridge so I might try that tomorrow. Rachel Khoo does baked eggs with a dollop of creme fraiche in, you could maybe put some of that in your hammy things too.

Dosh I make meatloaf and it is extremely yummy and versatile as you can eat it hot or cold. I'm sure I've mentioned before I have an american cookbook called "Saving Dinner the Low-Carb Way" and use the recipe from that

Sainsburys magazine this month has recipes for pizzata, which is like a frittata type base with pizza toppings, the ones without potatoes are a good low carb option.

Kiriwawa · 09/02/2013 22:08

Well done Black - I'm massively impressed! Hope you have a wonderful sleep and that you can walk tomorrow :o

I did 20 mins of zumba today - my 1st exercise for about a year and it was hard! The idea of doing 8 hours makes me want to faint.

I have to say that I'm loving the flaxseed bread - it's lovely toasted with marmite and philly. Also with philly and smoked salmon

thenightsky · 09/02/2013 22:27

I've just eaten a whole 300ml pot of extra thick double cream mixed with one of them small trays of raspberries.

Is that really bad? Blush

SavoirFaire · 09/02/2013 23:09

Black - well done, phenomenal.

Choos - incredible.

What an inspiration you lot are! I continue to write this week off. DH and I will be back on hard core boot camp tomorrow. Fully expecting carb flu and a weight gain on Monday. Urge. But if it wasn't for you lot there'd be no chance of ever getting back on the wagon.

Tigglette · 09/02/2013 23:49

Thenightsky, that's my treat when work is getting on top of me - feels lovely and decadent but is ok crb wise. Hope you enjoyed.

NellVarnish · 09/02/2013 23:59

BlackAffronted you are brilliant! Gaun yersel hen! Well done!

Sorry to hear you're poorly Gless - our house is full of germs at the mo. Hope you feel better in the morning.

Hi to everyone else - I've not been on the thread as am ashamed of myself for giving into temptation several times this week, and not drinking nearly enough water. Blush

Will be jumping on the Bootcamp Fullon Bandwagon in the morning and try to get back on track.

Help!

NellVarnish · 10/02/2013 00:00

timid those pizzatas sound nice, do you have the recipe by any chance?

Valdeeves · 10/02/2013 00:43

Hi guys, just checking in after a pretty exhausting week.
Had a lovely day at a ceramic cafe with a friend and our children. Also got some imprints done in clay of the baby which hopefully will be lovely.

Gless - hope you feel better - sending you a bunch of virtual flowers in spring colours.
Black - awesome!!! As Dora The Explorer would say "You did it!"
You are amazing!!

Is that flax seed bread on the recipe thread? I have a dodgy phone so it's hard to move between screens.

Breakfast: quick scrambled eggs, chives
Lunch: a piece of ham - no low carb options at all in the restaurant we went to for lunch after the cafe.
Tea: prawn Thai curry with stir fry veg.
Snack: some dessicated coconut in double cream.
Lots of water.

I have found this week hard as I'be been stressed!! However I have just watched The Full Monty on TV and laughed alot. I was born in the Soouth but brought up in the north - right now I'm living in West Berks.

Nobody swears in the south (goes behind a closed door to say F**k) and people wear Barbour jackets ( first time I've seen one in 35 .
The Full Monty reminded me of how different life is here - as literally every other word was b***d. I guess that film feels so current still as lots of people out of work or being made redundant. As I have a northern father, Southern mother, and was born in the South I feel like I belong to both (goes out to buy Barbour jacket.

However that also means no place feels like home - trying to work on that.

Valdeeves · 10/02/2013 00:50

Btw I'm not saying everyone swears all the time the further North you get - just in my limited experience.

(Goes to bed dreaming of flax seed bread...)

littlermissstan · 10/02/2013 01:18

Yay for Black and a wolf whistle for Choos! Just been to a 40th and had a fab meal, smoked salmon (gave DP the little blinis) and a gorgeous steak with garlic butter, asked for veg instead of chips and got a huge bowl of cabbage and spinach which was ace. A few gins and two glasses of red wine but hoping they were partially burned off by my frankly excellent dancing after :) well done all, fingers crossed for Monday!

NoveltySlippers · 10/02/2013 05:55

Gah. Went out for friend's bday last night and had a glass of red and some vodkas with sodas. Was very good food wise and didn't go on a drink-induced carb binge (victory!!). However - alcohol has meant I woke up at four and not been asleep since. So here I am on MN!

Valdeeves my experience is kind of the opposite - born and raised in the South, moved up North, and just realised I've now been here ten years this year. Lived in Yorks for 8 and now in NW.

I do love it up here, people are very friendly (cliche alert, but true), and I love that people actually say 'By heck!'.

(well, they did in Yorkshire anyway...).

Valdeeves · 10/02/2013 07:24

Ha ha - I lived in Yorkshire and they did! Ha ha - I'm from NW - whereabouts are you?

Valdeeves · 10/02/2013 07:25

Little Miss Tan - I want your steak!

Choos - check you oouuut!

BIWI · 10/02/2013 08:04

Have a look at this

I think this is a brilliant diagram and we should probably all have it printed out and stuck on a wall somewhere!

BlackAffronted · 10/02/2013 08:15

Had a wonderful sleeplast night :) I am also not sore today - weird. I was expecting to be hurting all over, and Im no more stiff/sore than after a normal Zumba session. I wonder if it will hit later?

Ive added a couple of photos to my profile, so that you can see that I am a large woman, and managed to out-stay many of the slinky ones! Hopefuly, by the time next years Zumbathon rolls round, Ill be a lot slimmer :)

Fab diagram Biwi!

MrsHerculePoirot · 10/02/2013 08:16

Black I can't click on your profile I think you might need to make it public?

LaVidaLoCarb · 10/02/2013 08:31

Well done everyone on losses, zumbathons and not giving up.

Here is the man himself Gary Taubes talking to the Swedish doc.

BlackAffronted · 10/02/2013 08:44

I think my profile is public now.

Will watch that later, LaVida, when I have peace!

LavenderBriggs · 10/02/2013 09:44

Surrey is very well represented on this thread. I'm starting to feel a bit lonely up here in Hackney. Any other Hackney Low-Carbers? And Val, if you want to hear swearing in the South of England, pop up to Hackney for the day Grin

I got pushed off the wagon. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and had a big pain flare-up. My back went into a massive spasm and while I was rolling around the bed in agony DH fetched me a glass of sherry (trying anything to relax the muscle). So, I've had a glass of sherry. And codeine - that will er...slow things down.

Pain has calmed down a bit this morning, so I made almond and cocoa pancakes for breakfast. DH has put some beef cheeks in the slow cooker, so I don't have to worry about dinner. Will drink loads of water and try and wince my way back on to the wagon.
