I F - 5:2 - 4:3 - Maintaining the healthy weight

TalkinPeace2 · 01/02/2013 16:59

This thread is for those who have been doing IF for quite a while and are now at or nearing their target healthy weight.

How do we experience fasts and balance a stable food intake while having little or no weight to lose?

How to we ensure that this WOE does keep us at the healthy weight long term rather than revert to yoyo games?

I have now been at the same weight for a month. I'm happy with that. I'm also still enjoying the 24 hour fasts because of the clear mindedness I get during them.

How about you?

Waaaaa my bum and inside thigh muscles HURT! Smugness all gone. Will def do Shred tonight, am too knackered this am with DD waking at 5am again - but might go for a bike ride if DH gets up

SpiralSkies · 12/02/2013 15:43

Ouf, no Shred for me again today - lurking back problem rules out anything but gentle yoga stretches. Feel like old crone. Bah. And other swear words. Tomorrow morning I will do it for sure. Want toned arms by Friday night, if you please Wink

frenchfancy · 12/02/2013 17:56

I've shredded! I think it hurt more today than it did yesterday. I hate the squats with arm curls and the last set of abs (but at least by then I know it is nearly over). Even the stretches at the end hurt. It better be worth it.

SpiralSkies · 12/02/2013 18:04

FrenchFancy Shredding rocks. You really must take your measurements - at 42, last year, I wore a sleeveless top for the first time EVER after 6 weeks of Shred. Disgusted with myself that I stopped doing it. Tomorrow. Oh yes.

frenchfancy · 12/02/2013 18:13

laska you've had an apology on the other forum and they want you to keep posting. TBH I think they are just people who don't use forums much so don't know how easy it is to offend.

Aftereightsarenolongermine · 12/02/2013 18:26

Finding following the other forum difficult on my phone which is what I use on here. May try again but print size is giving me a headache & if I'm on 2 forums I really will not have time for anything else. Say hi to TiP for me....

Laska42 · 12/02/2013 18:40

Im shredded!! Day 2 ..28 to go! Grin gotta go and cook my fast day meal now. back later

Iwearblack · 12/02/2013 19:47

Well Ezzza my verdict is:

Hazelnut chunky kitkats- very disappointing; poor man's Topic
Mint: ok, bit bland
Coconut: good because daughter and partner don't like coconut but no great shakes
Chocolate fudge: oh my; awesome winner. Rival to the exquisite peanut chunky kitkats.

And that completes the votes from the IWB jury.....

Iwearblack · 12/02/2013 19:48

Hmm remind me why I am overweight again?

Laska42 · 12/02/2013 20:01

hi french im not mortally wounded and I will post again, was just a bit narked.. possibly IWBU.. but thanks for the nice recommend you gave about us all us all.. Thanks

so lovely prawns an veggies later.

I noticed that my armpits hurt when restarting the shred today ! I dont think they ever have before.. so what strange muscle is that targeting?.. (hopefully those for bingo wing reduction.) . otherwise the muscles on my lower thighs and just above my knees are twinging..

I have no known muscles in my stomach to hurt so thats ok ..Grin

Laska42 · 12/02/2013 20:02

I wear black today was an eating day I hope.. Grin

frenchfancy · 12/02/2013 20:06

Laska the bit of me that hurts the most is my neck. I'm obviously doing something wrong with the abs

Iwearblack · 12/02/2013 20:20

Amazingly the 4 kitkats were bought last week so lasted 8 days (between 3 of us)!! That is a 'NSV' in itself for me ....

GiraffesEatPineapples · 12/02/2013 20:23

My neck hurt when I was doing it too. Really impressed because I got up before the children this morning and did a postnatal dvd as worried about pfm. I then ate a small bowl of porridge for breakfast instaed of toast for the first time since starting this woe! My legs and arms feel tired . Planning to AD shred so I will still be on day 15 when most of you have finished...

Grin laska but TBH my tummy spontaneously hurts sometimes and I think its precisely because I have no tummy muscles!

Laska42 · 12/02/2013 20:35

Giraffes .. I wont be doing it everyday.. . ill be away at the weekend anyway.. But I reckon if I can keep it up until level one feels easy ill be pleased enough however long that takes , then ill think about moving up to the next level.. I've not exercised for so long . I'm surprised i've managed these two sessions..(and I may not be able to move tomorrow !! ) Smile

Aftereightsarenolongermine · 12/02/2013 21:10

Well I've spent most of today trying to find fabulous recipes a la laska but have failed miserably....

dontcallmehon · 12/02/2013 22:00

Hello all, I don't post very often, but I have been doing 5:2 from the start. Maintaining nicely at BMI of 20.

AmericasTorturedBrow · 12/02/2013 22:10

Oh god all of you doing Shred today means I will have to do it tonight, I went back to bed this morning which was great as fast day didn't therefore start til 10am, brilliant

I'm probably not going to go on the other forum, MN is addiction enough!

I'm a bit gutted to have realized I am small framed tbh. It seems to mean that at 135lbs (9stone 9lbs) and 5'9" I STILL have goddamn saddlebags. I don't get it. Went on one of those photo body galleries and women my weight but several inches shorter look thinner than me. So annoying so def cant really base it on weight and instead on dress size and measurements

ThinkICan · 13/02/2013 01:21

I agree - not going on other thread as all of you are here! Will just keep track of any TiP-isms!

AmericasTorturedBrow · 13/02/2013 05:08

I did Shred - and made DH do it too. He pratted around at first but then got into it.

I think I went a bit over on my fast today, gonna swap days around though so I don't need to fast on V day as he's got a lush fish fondue planned.

Night all

Ezzza · 13/02/2013 06:14

Mmm... Iwearblack, soo looking forward to being able to return my own verdict on those chunky kitkats!

I've been toying with the idea of Shredding too, but a bit scared. I had an e-mail from Amazon this morning asking me if I wanted to by the DVD. If I do do it I won't be able to start until March though as I won't be back in the UK until then to get hold of the DVD. I can't do it on Youtube because Youtube is blocked in China. Sad V. inconvenient at times. Ah well, I'll just carry on c25king for now.

Piebaldrider · 13/02/2013 07:31

I managed a good fast day On Monday and didn't eat at all yesterday until 2.30pm just to extend the fast as long as possible. However i have mentioned before that i work at the head office of a world wide company that makes and delivers the scrumiest pizzas ever as as part of our on going training we have to spend time learning how a store runs and how to make the pizza. Yesterday was day one and great fun but for lunch we were given just about everything on the menu and although i didn't over eat i was stuffed to the limit and felt bad for the rest of the day. I don't even want to count the calories consumed and as they were all delicious i will just let it go. Today is day two and i will be there until at least midnight so the food will be provided again but i shall be taking my own, i can honestly say due to this way of eating i cant stand feeling like i have over eaten and i cant manage to eat the amounts i used too. So if everyone here mentally sends me the thought you will not eat pizza today i should get the connection and not feel tempted .Wink

Laska42 · 13/02/2013 09:07

piebaldrider that must be so hard.. I havent actually eaten pizza for over 4years now although love it. I know I can on this WOE , but Its a hangover from doing WW .
I will again though.. soon..

I ache in places I didn?t realise I have this morning, BUT I?m doing it again tonight ( buns of steel!.. ok not!) ..

However,I?ve got it into my tiny vain head that I can break this plateau and make my goal of 9:!0 ..(vain because it is only 7lbs.. but id love it so much if I could get down to 4 whole stone lost .. (that?s over several years its true) . If I could id be back to what I was at uni , and I have a teeny tiny red tartan kilt (punk style) from that era that id love just to be able to zip up .. even if I never dared wear it anywhere Grin.

So!! Shred again tonight ? .. I have a conference with lunch to attend today so ill be sitting on me ar$e most of the day again .. I?m up for shred again tonight (that means I can have cake!) Anyone else? Like I say I?m your on-board Jillian!..

French yes I had been planning on starting c25k again also , so I might start doing Shred on alternate nights..

I dont have time to post over to on the other fastdiet board either . but will pop in sometime to say hi to TIP .. I?m happy here , ..but actually I really must post back on the main thread to offer suport .. I don?t think I have at all this one..

NatashaMousse · 13/02/2013 09:10

Piebaldrider, I have a feeling that just the sight of pizza today will make you feel as uncomfortably sated as you were yesterday and give you repelling thoughts of greasy cheese congealing in your tummy. Your take-along will look and taste heavenly by comparison, and you'll feel refreshed instead of bogged down. Onward!

GiraffesEatPineapples · 13/02/2013 10:45

Well done Laska . Piebald I think its fair enough to bring your own food for day 2, takeaway pizza isn't meant to be eaten days in a row and at least you could eat it on day 1 without saying 'I'm on a diet as natasha says visualise the grease today and enjoy your meal'.

Fasting today so far so good and what TIP used to say is true

Forgot ds' trainers tofay so did some HITT by running back to school with them. Did modified shred today used a kettlebell or no weights and butt kick with arm flapping instead of jumping jacks (DD 'you look silly mummy' also she was very keen for me to put a cardigan on afterwards!). Trying to put as much energy in to butt kick as possible ala HITT.
