Can't link to this from old thread but thought I'd start a new one as the old one was getting full and kept crashing my kindle.

Pantryboy, I woke up feeling bad for being all bossy with you when you'd had a bad day, sorry! Blush Thanks

Hope everyone has good days.

WiseKneeHair · 24/01/2013 09:30

Morning Chiefs.
I don't post for a day and then have to read an essay!
Well done you losers and PULL YOUR SOCKS UP YOU SLACKERS - you know who you are Wink Seriously, I had a really hard day yesterday because I was busy and stressed and tired. I am an emotional eater and normally would have eaten a tonne of chocolate, but I managed to stay in control very grumpily. I was a few calories over, but am pleased today. If I had given in, I would have felt shit today.
As others have said , we are trying to change our eating habits for ever, rather than a quick fix and we will trip up on the way.
I'm going to shred now before going to the hairdressers to get my grey roots covered where I can read trashy magazines and drink coffee.Grin

dinkydoos · 24/01/2013 09:50

Weighed today after 10 days.
Lost a measly pound. Not happy, I know if I had low carbed it would have been loads more. Sigh.
Anyway total low carb is no good for me, and like you all say, slow and steady wins the race.
Only want to lose 10 pounds or so. That will get me to 10 9 ish, and though that's not skinny, at my advanced age of 44 I start looking even older when I lose too much. Well that's my excuse and sticking to it!
But I think it's time to go back to bossy Jillian for some shred misery!

DoubleMum · 24/01/2013 09:51

A lb is a lb Dinky, and much better off than on! Well done!

WiseKneeHair · 24/01/2013 09:58

If you haven't got much to lose Dinky then it will be slower. The shred may not help with the weight loss that much, but it will definitely firm bits up. I'm sure I have less wobble to my belly and muffin top!

DoubleMum · 24/01/2013 10:04

Gosh it would be nice to have less wobble to my belly. My belly is pretty much all wobble, with a lovely c-sec shelf. Sad

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 24/01/2013 10:21

Decided to go for the full humiliation this week and got out the B&Q measuring tape again.

But that was good news despite lack of weight loss .... 1.5 inches off each leg. 1.5 inches off hips and 1 inch off waist.

I think I'm going to save measuring myself for weigh-ins with no progress just to keep the motivation up.

juneybean · 24/01/2013 10:32

Fantastic Tea

Herecomesbod · 24/01/2013 12:00

That was a tough workout, but feel great now. It helps that the trainer's really supportive and specialises in post-pregnancy training, so he totally gets it when I have a moan about my saggy belly!

Fab inch loss Tea, well done!

WiseKneeHair · 24/01/2013 12:08

That's a brilliant inches loss tea Well done.
Here glad you had a PT session. I used to have them, but the problem was I didn't go to the gym in between times!

Now, Chiefs, when you have a coffee at the hairdressers and they bring those little caramelised biscuits, it would be rude not to eat it, wouldn't it? And if you have two coffees, well, I really have no choice but to eat both. Yes? Grin

CarriedAwayAnnie · 24/01/2013 12:14

Well done on the inches Tea! I don't think I could bring myself to stand on those rude scales Grin

Those seasame snap bars that were recommended on the other thread are also good for a quick snack. Cheap as well.

I also like a rivita with a bit of philly and sweet chilli sauce .. Yum!

I've shredded today. I didn't do it yesterday as I was experimenting and seeing if I could motivate myself to exercise when the dc are in bed .. I can't. They sleep - I flop!

So back to doing it after the school run.

If I wanted to do some ab crunches before bed do I need to warm up first. My belly is truly hideous and I think it needs a lot of extra attention, so if I wanted to shred in the morning and then do some extra crunches at night without warming up/cooling down would I hurt myself?

DoubleMum · 24/01/2013 12:17

Well done Tea, and yes to hairdresser biscuits. I have the screaming munchies and have already demolished lunch which doesn't bode well for the rest of the day.

BupcakesAndCunting · 24/01/2013 12:32

Afternoon chiefs!

Pleasant surprise just. In a moment of wild abandon, I ate an Aero chocolate mousse. Logged it on MFP and it is 97 calories! The same as the crappy fat free yoghurts I've been persevering with!

LOL at juneybeans's Heroes mishap.

RandallPinkFloyd · 24/01/2013 12:37

Wow, bloody well done tea!

I'm quite glad I haven't measured as unfortunately none of my heroic 11lb loss has come off my guts.

It seems to have mainly come off my cheeks. Not chin, just cheeks, I look like my face has melted.

WiseKneeHair · 24/01/2013 12:40

Ooo, Bups I like the sound of those aero mousses.
Carried you probably need to do a brief warm up. Have you seen the 10 minute solutions DVDs? They do a belly blast one which has 5 10 minute workouts on. They are really good and have a very brief warm up and will probably push you more than you would push yourself. I've done shred and a couple of those this morning and feel I've had a good workout.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 24/01/2013 12:48

Carried I don't think you would need to warm up - maybe some stretches at the end? Have you thought about just planking about before bed (or doing other pilates type exercises like hold onto one's pelvic floor at five levels ). It's meant to be the most effective type of stomach exercise. I seem to remember that the birthing ball type ball, if you have one, is quite good for your stomach muscles too - do the sit ups on there and the plank and it's meant to be doubly effective and not quite so much sweating as doing stomach crunches.

Not that I'm an expert. The lady in the pharmacy was surprised when I didn't get a free prescription yesterday. I was a bit offended because I assumed she assumed I was a tramp on account of vair stylish army coat and lack of a hair brush but when I walked out of the shop I caught sight of myself in a mirror and I look preggers with my three hoodies on under my coat!!

Mmmmm aero chocolate mousse, hairdresser's biscuits.

Hurrah Bod so pleased you feel great.

Herecomesbod · 24/01/2013 13:47

Tea agree about the plank. Trainer did lots of that this morning with me (or rather, he told me to do it and I did it, iyswim).

S'posed to be v.gd for strengthening 'the core'. Probably better than trying to do lots of stomach crunches.

Exercise balls also v.gd for stomach as long as you don't fall off like me!

Yes to hairdresser's biscuits. If you're having a cut and colour you could probably manage 3 cups of coffee/biscuits, yes?

juneybean · 24/01/2013 14:18

I just carried a two stone toddler up a snowy hill, what can I log that as on mfp?! Strange thing I used to be three stone heavier and I swear it wasn't that much hard work getting up the hill.

TigerFeet · 24/01/2013 14:19

Blimey you're a garrulous lot aren't you Grin

So, how does one "plank" exactly?

I'm not really exercising atm, whenever I try and do anything overly strenuous it feels as though my left leg is going to fall off, knackered Barbie stylee. I'm hoping that shifting a couple of stone will help. I should go swimming, I do take the dd's a couple of times a month, but dd1 currently has a verruca. I sound like a 14 year old PE refusenik don't I.

I had some chocolate last night for the first time in a couple of weeks or so. MAN it was GOOD. Trouble is, I'm now craving it. I am actually drooling at the thought of having more.

TigerFeet · 24/01/2013 14:20

Aero Mousses btw - every now and again Asda have them on offer, a pack of four for a measly quid. Bargain.

CarriedAwayAnnie · 24/01/2013 14:55

I don't own an exercise ball Sad

Isn't planking just lying down? I quite like the idea of just lying down and calling it exercise but I'm sure there must be more to it ..

CarriedAwayAnnie · 24/01/2013 15:05

I really need to moving on from Level 1 of the Shred don't I?

I am just so unfit that L2 scares the hell out of me. How did you know when you were ready to move on? I know ideally it's ten days but I don't think that's taking into account someone like me!

WiseKneeHair · 24/01/2013 15:13

Carried if you move onto level 2 shred, you will know what a plank is. Grin
Here I managed two and politely refused a third as I was desperate for a piss
Well, I've worked my calories out for the day and if I don't have anything other than the planned dinner, I should have enough calories left for a small glass of wine and a little bit of chocolate. Now, I had said I was only going to drink at weekends, but as I'm off work today and tomorrow, this counts as the weekend, doesn't it?

WiseKneeHair · 24/01/2013 15:15

Carried I meant to say that I moved on when I could roughly get through level 1 without having extra breaks. I couldn't do proper press ups, though. and according to DH still can't

CarriedAwayAnnie · 24/01/2013 15:16

I did it all today without stopping. Oh shit. I will die on L2.
