Can't link to this from old thread but thought I'd start a new one as the old one was getting full and kept crashing my kindle.

Hey Ladies, keep up the good work.

I had a trinidad chicken stew for dinner which involved lots of caramelised brown sugar. Have no idea if that was bad or not, even tho' it was already logged on MFP - not sure I can trust it.

Randall I am due on next week and I can already feel the urge to binge creeping up on me. Not sure how I am going to cope as I usually load up on bread like a nutter. Shock

I refuse to engage with the new BMI thingy. I am officially overweight, not obese this week with the old formula. I am NOT going to go back to being obese because of that fucking, bastard formula.
I am 5'2 and a half inches tall and not shaped like a rugby player, more like an apple. Sad
Randall sorry you feel crap and bloated. This seems to affect me more when I am losing weight too. Hopefully, you will find when it's over the weight will drop off again, at least that's what always happened to me after bloating up for the week.

Hi Lizzylou, will continue to use McKenna's basic principles ie eat when hungry, stop when satisfied, eat what you want, eat slowly but I never bothered with his hypnosis CD - the basic common sense rules were enough. Though interestingly I am listening now to the virtual gastric band hypnosis app each night and think it's having an effect but then again it may just be helping me relax into sleep better...

Evening all. Could you come befriend me on MFP (thanks those of you who already have)? I'm Bssh on there and am feeling lonely ;-)

randall I always gain a pound or 2 of water weight in the week before I'm due. Then I have a biggish loss the week of my actual period, then a week or 2 of normal loss then it starts again. But I assume everyone is different!

Report
RandallPinkFloyd · 21/01/2013 23:56

Lauren that's kind of how I presumed it would go, pre-period bloat! That's why I was so chuffed last week. I thought, bugger me, if I can lose weight this week then I'm doing alright.

But I have the opposite, post-period bloat. I'm a sodding freak Sad

DoubleMum · 22/01/2013 07:11

Hope you're feeling less bloaty this morning Randall.
Bssh I have sent a friend request.
Am not grumpy this morning because I can report a 4.8 lb loss! Yay!

Doublemum - well done!

Randall - i felt bloated all weekend but has settled down - think it might be the shock to my system of cutting out loads of crap? Stick with it, as you've done so well. Even if you go up a bit when you're on, I'm sure than long term you will be coming down as you've made changes to your whole diet and lifestyle.

Great news Doublemum! Randall I get the bloating (and gas) too now that I'm losing weight and it's not necessarily related to time of month for me. I think it's my body and digestion going through a big adjustment period - I mean a year and a half ago my body was carrying 3 extra stones and it's still carrying an extra stone (perhaps more)...

Report
DoubleMum · 22/01/2013 08:58

That makes sense Bssh.

WiseKneeHair · 22/01/2013 09:28

Bssh I've sent you a friend request.
My boobs are bigger when I measured them today, which is usual for me at the totm, so our bodies are going to fluctuate with hormones, but if we carry on eating healthily, the general trend will be down.
I lost 1.6lbs today, so very pleased as I've almost lost half a stone in 3 weeks.
Double that's a stupendous loss, well done. Obviously baking but not eating it worked yesterday.

Well done losers!
I have been awake since 2.30am for some reason Hmm. Got up and watched TV as was sick of lying in bed next to sleeping DH. Then went back to bed at 5am hoping to sleep for last hour before alarm, no.
So am knackered and looking very haggard.

Must make sure I don't eat myself senseless to feel better.

Randall, I always weigh more pre-period, then hold onto the weight for a week or so. Then normally an extra gain. It'll all work itself out, no fear.

Me too LizzyLou I was up with dd pretty much all night. I think I got about 90 mins sleep in total. To add to it DH (having been away all weekend in a work jolly) is 'sick'. I am so tempted to scoff to feel better.

Report
DoubleMum · 22/01/2013 10:06

Well done wise.
Sorry for all you non-sleepers. Lack of sleep is so hard. DD never slept through the night until after the age of 2 1/2 and I remember it all too well.
Managed to get the children to school today, so am getting some work done and will tidy up a bit. No cake baking today.

Double that is truly brilliant. Wise an amazing downward trend.

Lizzy Sad I'm feeling your pain - the 3YO has a stinking cold and for some reason could only sleep whilst clutching me last night. Hope a cup of coffee does the job for you. Normally I'd be perky with my caffeine intake at this point in the day but it feels like someone has pritt sticker my eyes and wrapped my brain in cotton wool. Hope you manage the day ok.

Randall I do the same as Lizzy I retain water the five days before my period, or now I'm minera lady, when it would be. It then goes over 5 days. Tis vairy depressing because I only feel good for half the month. You can still loose weight though it's more of a staggered loss though. I did find that water and lots of green veg did after a few months reduce bloating last time.

The new bastard scales, on a morning weight, show me the same as last week which was a shame as I was on for a 2lb loss, but at least isn't showing me at my starting weight as it was last night .

But I have two days to my weekly weigh-in. It might change [deluded fool emoticon]

Well done doublemum!

My bank hasn't paid me 2 direct debits that come in every week on a Monday Sad so I can't food shop, which means lots of pasta/ toasties etc this week until it sorts itself out whilst we live on cupboard food! Not very helpful for my diet!

Other than that I'm losing weight Smile desperate to log it on MFP but sitting on my hands til Friday! Not as good as doublemums spectacular loss though!

Report
DoubleMum · 22/01/2013 10:17

Tea I know it doesn't help for the purpose of recording, but you have still lost weight because the Bloody Bastard Scales would have shown you as weighing more than you thought you did before. IYSWIM.
lauren my loss is over 2 weeks, I didn't lose anything my first week so that's probably why it's a good one. Although if I could lose that every week I happily would!

Morning chiefs!

Sorry i've been AWOL for a few days. i come back and try to catch up and there's too much. TOO MUCH.

Can someone do a quick precis for me? Thanks

CarriedAwayAnnie · 22/01/2013 12:32

I've been AWOL as well.

I've logged into MFP today and I'm back on track. I shredded today.

I had poached eggs today which was yum! Used those egg poachers that were recommended on the other thread and they really work so Thanks Smile

I weighed on Monday, which is my weigh day, and I had put on 1lb. Which tbh after the weekend I had and the fact it's that time of the month, wasn't as bad as I was expecting.

Not going to slip up again!

Hello Chiefs

Haven't been on MN much this past week, too busy on MFP [ha]

There have been some great losses, well done.

I'm another Lancastrian pie fan Grin. I make a mean meat & potato pie. Meat & potato pie, chips & gravy (hold the veg) - I'm not usually one for chomping noises on the internet but, well, omnomnom.

I've been on a sort of detox for the first couple of weeks and lost 9 lbs - not as impressive as it sounds as I'm well into the obese category weight wise so have a lot to lose, at least 6 stone if I'm to get to what the charts tell us is an acceptable weight. I'm happy with the start though!

I've started re-introducing things now and woke up with awful stomach pains on sunday night after having cheese on sunday. I haven't had any more until today so please please can I not have stomach pains tonight as I don't want to cut cheese out of my diet. I have IBS and the griping pains on the right hand side of my lower abdomen get really quite sore at times.

Feel free to add me on MFP if you haven't already, I'm stripytigerfeet.
