Can't link to this from old thread but thought I'd start a new one as the old one was getting full and kept crashing my kindle.

Well done to all on weight loss and having a good crap.

Randall, dont forget, it takes 3500 cals extra to put on a pound of fat, that's a LOT. You may well weight more when you get back but it will probably be water weight from the insulin spikes etc.

No real change here (0.4 of a pound), but Im increasingly happy with how I look, which is the most important thing. I'd love to get under 10st but am prepared that it may take a while (currently 10st6.2)

bleedingheart · 07/02/2013 13:02

I've lost almost 4 kilos since I started so I'm not to fussed by this week, 2more to hit my target, ideally 7 more!

This thread has really helped me to stick with it! Thanks chiefs!

RandallPinkFloyd · 07/02/2013 13:15

3500 cals for a pound of fat Shock
Bugger me.

DoubleMum · 07/02/2013 13:35

Well done Lula. Somewhere I saw a pic of a stone worth of fat and it was one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen.

kerala · 07/02/2013 14:48

Thats made me feel better about the 3500 calories am gutted as just eaten abit off the end of a banana cake after being super good. Glad to know am not doomed!

Does anyone else find their weight varies? Have never weighed myself much before was thrilled had lost 4 pounds but weighed myself the next day and 2 had gone back on.

BsshBossh · 07/02/2013 14:54

kerala that's the very reason I've always tried to weigh myself once a month. I was very good at this last year but for some reason this year I'e adopted "weigh in Fridays". May need to think carefully about weighing in tomorrow. I like weighing infrequently because I'm motivated by the larger number losses on the scale eg 4lbs in a month sounds better to me than 1lb a week (that's on a good month!). I hide my scales in DD's bedroom, underneath her cupboard - it's a bugger to get out all the time.

dinkydoos · 07/02/2013 17:27

Well done all you losers and maintainers!
I put 2lb on, but had my suspicions of TOTM confirmed a few hours later (tmi) so am blatantly ignoring it

Lalalalalalalalalalalala

See how well I ignore?

Have a great weekend randall , know just what you mean re the 3lb cushion!

juneybean · 07/02/2013 19:43

I had a binge :( I bought doughnuts for a playdate and it got cancelled so I ate three....

BsshBossh · 07/02/2013 19:56

juney tomorrow is another day. Adjust your calories accordingly. Don't let it derail you. We all have binge moments but here we still are adding posts :)

RandallPinkFloyd · 07/02/2013 20:11

Remember Juney look at the weekly number not the daily one. That's the one that matters.

You wouldn't weight yourself every day would you?

Like Bssh says about the monthly weighing, it's the long term results that matter. If you lose 4lb in a month it doesn't matter if you lost a pound a week or if you lost two pound, put one on, then lost another three. What matters is that 4 pounds is gone.

juneybean · 07/02/2013 20:13

Yeah you're right! I've done well so far, slow and steady!

BsshBossh · 07/02/2013 20:17

Yey juney!

DoubleMum · 07/02/2013 20:27

Don't be derailed Juney. For what it's worth I could easily eat 3 doughnuts ...

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 07/02/2013 22:14

juney unless there were only 3 doughnuts in the pack you did better than I would have! Onwards and downwards.

juneybean · 07/02/2013 22:28

There were 5! I had to share them with the children some self control

BsshBossh · 08/02/2013 07:28

Morning all. 4 lbs lost this week. Very happy :)

DoubleMum · 08/02/2013 07:54

Well done Bssh, not surprised your happy!!

RandallPinkFloyd · 08/02/2013 08:04

Bloody hell, well done Bssh!

DoubleMum · 08/02/2013 09:02

your obviously = you're ...

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 08/02/2013 09:03

Bssh That is amazing. Hurrah for you. Gosh. My gast has been flabbered! I'm going to carry on 5:2ing for the foreseeable I think.

Donuts. Mmmmmm.

I would just like to register that I think the Chiefs are fantastic for their support all round for losers, stickers and temporary gainers - I'm not sure I would have kept this up without the thread. Always nice to see a positive side being pulled out.

dinkydoos · 08/02/2013 09:32

Sterling work there bssh
Were you 5:2 ing??

Quick question for you or tea , do you try and have a long time without food, eg from something like 6pm the night before, and then nothing for at least 16 hours, eg around midday ish? And then only 500 cals anyway for rest of that day?
Thinking of giving it a whirl....

Lizzylou · 08/02/2013 10:03

Morning losers!

Bsssh, that is such a fab loss! Well done you.

Tea, I completely agree, everyone's support makes you feel so much better when you're having an off day.

I am away for the weekend childfree with DH. Much eating and drinking, but also lots of walking and possibly a run or two (DH is training for a triathlon but has never ran!). Will eat dust next week!
I am going to sign up to do a 10km in June. That'll focus my mind.

Tabbykat · 08/02/2013 10:12

Just checking in - congrats to all those with great losses! Been a bit rubbish the latter part of this week as have had lots of work, tight deadlines and little exercise time, as well as too much chocolate - always eat when stressed. Out with old school friends tomorrow too, so will have to be careful to keep the wine consumption under some kind of control.

However, next week should be quieter workwise so will try to squeeze in more shred. Have noticed that at least I can now do up my jeans again without having to breathe in, which is something. Hope everyone else still hanging in there!

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 08/02/2013 10:12

cor Lizzy that's brilliant - the weekend away and the goal of the 10km in June.

dinky I tend to eat the night before about 6.30 - and because I have suffer from evening munchies have a couple of ricecakes about 9.30pm and perhaps a couple of pieces of chocolate. Next day I tend to power through until 6.30 again - use about 400 calories for an evening meal and have ricecakes before bed again. I have a couple of cups of tea and a black coffee and loads of sparkling water and mint tea to get me through the day. In the book, one of the authors does a lunch (150 cals) and dinner (350 cals) (there are recipes in there). The other does breakfast and then dinner. They make a lot of the fact you can do what you want with the 500 calories as long as you are thinking about the fast (as that's where the health benefits are) and what works best for you so you succeed.

RandallPinkFloyd · 08/02/2013 10:19

Ooh, your weekend is child free? Well jel Envy

I have to take Randall jnr and the canine!

I don't envisage huge losses this week Grin
