Can't link to this from old thread but thought I'd start a new one as the old one was getting full and kept crashing my kindle.

OP posts:

Meeeee. I'm 5:2ing. Well I've done it once because I wasn't getting any joy with just calorie counting - 2.5 weeks of no movement when everyone else is dropping weight is quite soul destroying - and I think allows for me not to feel so bad about beer and cheese at the weekend!

Day one of it was yesterday and it was fine actually. Small coffee for breakfast. Salad for Lunch. Paella for tea. Rice cakes for snacks. Lots of water. Doing a Monday all dayer and a Wednesday 1pm to Thursday 1pm for my 2. They are days I'm busy and relatively easy to distract. I'm trying not to go above 1750 on a 5 day on week days and then will see what happens this weekend so I can set a weekend target.

I bet Jillian troughs spaghetti hoops when no-one is looking

RandallPinkFloyd · 29/01/2013 19:31

I know, they're not even Heinz!

BsshBossh · 29/01/2013 20:27

Tea remind me your MFP username again (if your diary's open that is). I think I might try it out from next Monday...

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 29/01/2013 20:35

WillStillNeedTeaAndGin ....... It's open.

BsshBossh · 29/01/2013 20:39

Thanks :-)

WiseKneeHair · 29/01/2013 20:41

Blimey, this thread moves quickly.
Well done you losers and shredders and everyone else.
I always say I shredded, never realised I should have shrod. Grin Although I haven't yet. Getting DC to bed in a minute, then off to do day 3 of level 3 hoping someone calls me hard, even though I'm more like a marshmallow really.
I lost 1 lb today, so pretty happy.
I've got 9 weeks until I go on holiday. Would like to lose a stone in that time. I think it might be a bit of a stretch, but I'll be as good as I can be.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 29/01/2013 20:43

Feck me ... level 3! My pelvic floor can barely cope with Level 1 and I do a lot of exercise. Wise you are my new hero.

namechanger11111 · 29/01/2013 21:25

I put on 1lb after my very bad weekend. Sad It was 2lbs but I did a big poo went to the toilet and weighed again and it was only 1lb on. Blush

I am back on track properly now and am about to go and do half hour on the exercise bike. I keep meaning to take my measurements too.

BsshBossh · 29/01/2013 22:25

Well done on the loss Wise! How did the exercise biking go namechanger?

RandallPinkFloyd · 29/01/2013 22:27

Level 3? Kudos.

WiseKneeHair · 29/01/2013 22:30

Done. It's not getting any easier yet!
Well done on the big poo namechanger
Tea I started level one with a wodge of toilet tissue stuck in my pants! After 3 DC, it was either that or buying some tena. Now, as long as I wee immediately prior to shredding, I'm ok. So, I think as well as reducing my wobbly belly, it does seem to have improved my pelvic floor. Grin

Notfootball · 29/01/2013 23:02

Hi Tea, I have sent you a friend request on MFP. I've been doing okay with the calorie counting and shredding, have lost over half a stone but have now moved to 5:2 so would be interested in seeing your diary. Not sure if I can fast from breakfast though, I was a right misery when I did it before so did 2pm - 2pm from yesterday.

nilbyname · 29/01/2013 23:13

I just did level 2....and I enjoyed it! I got that push through euphoria feeling, was mental!

RandallPinkFloyd · 29/01/2013 23:18

Blimey, I'm such a shred wuss.

I've done level 1 every day for 6 days in a row and its no easier than it was the first time. I can do it but I'm no better at it. The first cardio bit with the pretend skipping makes me cry!

nilbyname · 29/01/2013 23:20

the pretend skipping is HARD, there is a double jump one on level 2. Mental!

Tabbykat · 30/01/2013 07:28

That's the worst bit for me, too! My calves burn so much and TBH they are already quite muscly, want to get weight off everywhere else, not add more bulk there....Have been crap foodwise FRi-Mon as lunch out every day (most unusual) but really have to get back on track. Might go swimming later while DD2 at pre-school - although last week when I went it was just me and the entire six form of the local boys school in the pool - nearly died of shame having to walk my porridgy pasty body back to the changing rooms. And never mind nearly dying of drowning in Lynx, sebum and hormones....

Will remember to take towel to poolside today....

DoubleMum · 30/01/2013 07:39

OMG Tabby that sounds like my absolute worst nightmare! Full marks to you for even getting in the pool.
I have lost another 1 lb BUT am not counting it because I may well put it back on over the weekend. Technically though it takes me to half a stone, which is motivating.

BsshBossh · 30/01/2013 07:44

DoubleMum pull yourself together woman and count it . A lb is a lb and an excellent loss!

BsshBossh · 30/01/2013 07:56

Right, today I'm going to experiment with the 5:2 diet thing - eating at 500 cals today and Friday, then eating as close to but not over my TDEE the rest of the days. If it doesn't suit me then I'll go back to my usual diet. I'll still be logging in MFP. I'll be fasting on exercise days because exercise seems to reduce my appetite anyway.

namechanger11111 · 30/01/2013 08:21

The exercise bike was good, the only problem was my bum was already hurting from the day before when i went on the bike. It was agonizing and it's still hurting now.

If i can get enough work done this morning then I'm going swimming at lunch time.

WiseKneeHair · 30/01/2013 09:04

Well done on the swim Tabby. I'm not sure I would have braved that!
Nimby in level 3 she gets you to do star jumps whilst doing lateral raises with the weights Shock
Doing an odd shift at work today in a different place than usual. This means I probably won't get chance to exercise although I could have done it this morning and will be tempted by food. So, need to stay strong today.
Keep chiefing everyone.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 30/01/2013 09:22

Goooooooo Chiefs swiming, biking, shredding.

Signing on for another day of Chiefdom. Today I'm fasting and exercising because my plans for a swim tomorrow have been thwarted by my husbands work and four children!

Bssh - I'm less hungry if I exercise too. Odd isn't it?

DoubleMum · 30/01/2013 09:30

Hmm I could definitely do with pelvic floor benefits.
Bssh have pulled myself together and logged it!!

BsshBossh · 30/01/2013 11:10

I did the same workout I usually do today - an intensive 45 minute cardio sesson on the treadmill and stepper machine at the gym - but I was much sweatier and my heart rate was really turbo-charged. I think it must be the milder weather...

Anyway, I feel great. I really am enjoying exercise. Fast day for me - not hungry yet and guzzling loads of water but time will tell whether 5:2 is for me. My thing is that I'm of the "eat more to lose weight" persuasion so I need to watch that my weekly calories don't go too far down on 5:2. Time will tell.

WiseKneeHair · 30/01/2013 11:28

Well done on the loss Double and you should definitely log it silly woman
Good luck tea and bssh on the fasting.
I had forgotten that where I am working today has a Costa on site. I'm going to need to be restrained.
