WillieWaggledagger · 14/01/2013 23:20

For anyone wanting a comforting hot drink yogi tea choco is worth a try - it smells heavenly though does taste like dishwater like most herbal teas but has a faint sweetish aftertaste which I think comes from liquorice (not overpowering at all). I've bought it in sainsbury's and it's not cheap but I have some maybe once a week and it's a nice warming before bed sort of drink

WillieWaggledagger · 14/01/2013 23:20

I didn't discover this tea btw - another low carber did ages ago jut can't remember who it was sorry!

Valdeeves · 15/01/2013 00:14

I weighed myself and it says I am 7 and a half stone. As I was ten and a half a week ago I think the scales are broken!! I think I've lost at least four pounds just by my tummy.
I really hope I lose more next week as I really want to she'd the frumpy body and buy clothes which are trendy rather than hide the lumps and bumps!

Valdeeves · 15/01/2013 00:15

OTTMumma - I ate three chocolate oranges at Xmas within two days - they are hard to resist. See you back on the wagon tomorrow xxxx

halfthesize · 15/01/2013 00:19

princess 1lb is fine it's all in the righ directionWink

ToomuchWaternotWine · 15/01/2013 00:21

Well done everyone on your great losses, and into week 2 we go!

2 and a bit lbs off for me, so takes me back under the 11 stone mark at 153 (I'm 5'8"). I lost 20lbs on the last bootcamp, put on 5/6 over Xmas/ny so that's half of that gone in the first week back. I think my ideal weight is about 145-7 so half a stone or so to go.

weighin advice thought worth a reminder, as I had to remember this:

always weigh:
On the same scales, pref on a hard floor not carpet.
First thing in the morning
After pee/poo but before you eat or drink anything
Naked

This will give you the most accurate "true" weight

(If you are like me, this will also include removal of all possible body hair, cutting of nails and refusal to put on moisturiser or deodorant Wink )

halfthesize · 15/01/2013 00:28

wine I actually just spat my coffee out laughing at you cutting nails and removing hairGrin
well done on all the lossesWink

NoveltySlippers · 15/01/2013 00:36

Thanks half

I can't sleep either! Smile

BlackAffronted · 15/01/2013 06:59

Morning campers!

Was so tired after Zumba last night, I had a shower & went straight to bed! )to read my kindle I may add, I didnt go to sleep at 8pm lol). If i am knackered after 1 hour of Zumba, how am I going to be after 8 hours? Shock

Menu yesterday was -

b - 3 fried eggs in coconut oil
l - chicken & broccoli bake
d - salmon, salad & mayo
s - ham slices, 1 square dark choc

NoelHeadbands · 15/01/2013 06:59

Morning all

Already scoffed two sausages this morning with a portion of butter. I'm bloody freezing though, and would love a hot drink. I'm avoiding black coffee because I'm currently having my teeth whitened and I can't drink tea unless it's got milk and sugar. Wah!

NoelHeadbands · 15/01/2013 07:04

I can easily go to sleep at 8pm, especially after exercise. Every 2-3 weeks I tend to have a really early night to catch up Blush

8 hours of zumba and I'd probably need to book a couple if days off work!

Xenia · 15/01/2013 07:27

Just following this. Well done to everyone.

skandi1 · 15/01/2013 07:53

Marking place on new thread.
I will add my weight to spread sheet today once I get to the compute.

Not has much time to post as DS decided to get 4 shiny new molars over the weekend

All going well so far. Only craving I have had is for choc. May owe more to sleep deprivation though.

I think my slower loss than the average is because I have still not made it to the gym.

Well done everyone. You are all doing amazingly well!!

GuyMartinsSideburns · 15/01/2013 07:59

Morning!

Well I went to bed around 8.30 last night, read for an hour then slept right through. Don't usually go to bed so early but I was so tired - had a headache all day yesterday that just wouldn't go, an I started to get the weird 'flashing lights' a bit which usually comes before a migraine so no wonder I ended up so tired really. Feel much better today, will drink even more water!

Haven't eaten yet, I got up at 7 and its too early for me. Have had a coffee though. Not sure what I'll be eating today, but celeriac chips WILL be involved! Grin

Hope you all have a good day today, it sucks when your body is hassling for sugar, I can't quite believe how strong those cravings feel. I was so desperate for some kind of pastry the other day I couldve cried! And I'm someone who would very rarely buy anything like that - certainly wouldn't have anything like that in my cupboard, or shop cakes etc but my god I wanted them sooo badly, even though I knew if I ate them I'd feel terrible afterwards. On a strong day I walk around the co op or sains to get my bits, and smugly saunter past the cakes Grin The sugary twats

BigStickBIWI · 15/01/2013 08:02

Morning all!

There is a lot of rumbling going on about wanting sweet things, and a lot of you giving into the cravings. Can I remind you that we are only just in week 2?! The whole point of the strict, initial phase of Bootcamp is to break the addiction to carbs generally, but sugar in particular. If you give into the cravings, you have undone all the good work that you've done so far. Some of you have lost fabulous amounts of weight but are still cheating. You really need to ask yourselves why you are self-sabotaging yourselves.

The reality is, that if you have cheated, then you need to do another week of Bootcamp before you can move on to Bootcamp Light. Otherwise you will allow sugar to retain its hold over you

There are very few things that we can eat or drink that are naturally sweet without some kind of carb cost. Trouble is, the ready availability of carb-heavy/sugar-laden foods has created a sweet tooth in most of us. If we're restricting the carbs, the only way we can get this sweet fix is through either cheating (not recommended, obviously) or via the plethora of 'sugar-free', low carb products. These aren't recommended either, as they are full of artificial ingredients. (I refer you to rule 10 of Bootcamp!) Not only are we trying to avoid artificial sweeteners because we are aiming to eat natural, unprocessed foods, there is an increasing suggestion that they impede weight loss or even cause weight gain.

So next time you consider eating/drinking something sweet - please, please, please ask yourself why you are doing it. All manner of excuses can be used to justify it, but just remember what you are doing to yourself. Is it really worth it?

Ultimately, it's entirely up to you. If you cheat, you won't lose weight. Worse, you will put back on what you have worked so hard to lose. And you'll have to do another week of Bootcamp.

toomuchwaternotwine - I do the same! Blush Plus an extra sit on the loo to make sure I've wee-ed everything possible out! Blush

BlackAffronted · 15/01/2013 08:04

Thanks to whoever mentioned nori - I have a few packs in my larder! I think I will make the crisps, and also try making tune mayo wraps. Yum.

halfthesize · 15/01/2013 08:06

Brew good morning all, finally got to sleep about 2am....

Noel how about hot water?

I have weighed in with a 2lb loss, not greatSad especially as hardly eaten in a week due to being ill, but not been to the gym and on a lot of tablets, perhaps this is why the slow startConfused
oh well a loss is a loss.

BlackAffronted · 15/01/2013 08:07

Is 1 square of dark choc classed as cheating?

BigStickBIWI · 15/01/2013 08:11

YES!

OP posts:
halfthesize · 15/01/2013 08:13

what a great post BIWI and so true, since starting this woe back in April, my need for sugar has completely gone, but I did have to stick to the rulesSmile
now anything sweet just tastes funny and certainly not worth it.
this woe is a lifestyle change, not just a quick fix, so you really need to embrace itWink it really is worth it.

skandi1 · 15/01/2013 08:31

Despite being well over the stage of craving carb (don't even fancy any or miss anything other than choc), I still don't feel great.

Most of you fellow boot campers are reporting feeling full of energy etc. I feel tired beyond belief and foggy of head which is why I can't find the energy to get to the gym.

I have read about candida die off. I wonder if its that?

If so, then how can I help myself feel better or at least get over the die off sooner?

And I don't look great like you are all reporting. I look effing terrible.

Any experiences?

halfthesize · 15/01/2013 08:36

skandi do you think it could be a bog? there is a lot going round at the moment. are you drinking enough water and making sure your potassium levels are ok? hope you start to feel better soon x
