Last one filled up really quickly, so here is a brand, spanking and distinctly thinner thread for you to fill up.

Sounds perfect!

Afternoon everyone, am feeling proud of myself for sticking to low carb food over the weekend.

I always find it easier to resist temptation when I'm at work during the week. Must admit the smell of DH's toast this morning made my mouth water! Consoled myself with boiled eggs with butter and celery fingers for dipping.

I have everything crossed that I have lost a few pounds when I weigh in tomorrow.

Have a good evening.

Ruprekt · 13/01/2013 17:32

Wow! IloveTeddy! Fab weight loss.

DH wants to know what happens after boot camp. I might post this qu in the qu section! Grin

gloriafloria · 13/01/2013 17:35

teddy you look amazing, wow!

thatgirl poor ds and poor you. It's really awful having tonsillitis and also for you exhausting. Hope he feels better soon.

Thanks for those articles biwi will have a look later when kids are in bed. I've not had time to read all the threads, roast chicken in the oven, no wine consumed but will I resist the scummy yorkshires? My most fav bit of a roast. I've got cabbage instead Grin

BigStickBIWI · 13/01/2013 17:36

After Bootcamp we move onto Bootcamp Light - if you wish - for the remaining 8 weeks. If you're happy with Bootcamp, then you can continue doing that if you want.

Rules of Bootcamp Light are on one of the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet

If you want to, you could also do a hybrid - Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

Really interesting links, thanks BIWI.

It really squeezes my cheese, all the low-fat guff that's promoted by the establishment in the face of so much evidence to the contrary. I'm sure that the govt is somewhat in thrall to the big food companies who profit from the ranges that promote calorie restriction, but think of how the UK economy would actually benefit from more people cutting out carbs. Livestock and dairy farmers. Local butchers and greengrocers. The reduction in strain on the NHS through the reduction in obesity and related conditions.

It feels like someone in a govt dept somewhere has read the research but thought 'don't want to rock the boat' with the supermarkets and agribusiness and, let's face it, the big pharma companies Angry

EwanHoozami · 13/01/2013 17:42

On a lighter note, I'm finally having peri peri chicken livers tonight Grin

Lavenderhoney · 13/01/2013 17:53

I' m going to have some Brie. And I have some very soft cheese too, which I can let melt:)

That girl, just read your post- your poor ds. My ds gets it sometimes. I'm hoping he grows out of it. I let him have ice cream before he eats to try to get his throat down and suck on home made lollies. We go through so many toothbrushes as well, with my irrational fear of the germs:)

I'm going to search for the cheesy scone recipe.

Oh- and I wore a dress today and I didn't need spanx. My hips seem to be less child bearing:)

Ilovemyteddy · 13/01/2013 17:56

I think I might make that soup in a mo - sounds delish.

Does anyone know of any info WRT cancer and high carb diets? I was talking to a friend who has read a lot about preventing cancer and he says that a diet high in carbs leads to a higher incidence of cancer.

NoelHeadbands · 13/01/2013 17:56

I'm stuffed

DH looked at our heaped plates and remarked "what diet?" Exactamundo

cathyandclaire · 13/01/2013 17:56

Veered a little off piste this weekend, not shockingly bad-although Biwi may disagree (managed Les Mis twice without popcorn or snacks...just snivelled quietly) but have had shed loads of wine, pistachios and 85% chocolate. A sort of bootcamp very light if you will.
Going to try the courgette carbonara this evening and hope the scales aren't too evil tomorrow.
Teddy you look amazing, well done!
To all the cheaters (errr..me and the rest, you know who you are!) everyone slips up. On previous diets I've thought sod it and just given up and fallen into a large bag of Doritos, with bootcamp I've found I can get back to healthier ways and keep losing. So the odd bad weekend isn't a disaster just part of normal life.

may still have a cold glass of white with my supper tonight though

BigStickBIWI · 13/01/2013 17:58

I may be joining you

I'm looking forward to official weigh in tomorrow. I've lost 8lb so far, so even if it fluctuates slightly, should be at least half a stone SmileSmile

My intention is to stay on full Boot Camp for 4 weeks (which is how long I committed to myself to stay off alcohol), with the exception of 25 January, where I'll allow myself haggis with my neeps and then sugar/honey and oats with my cream, raspberries and whisky (the latter three all permissible in Boot Camp Lite).

The sausages I got out the freezer for tonight are a wee bit carb heavy - 5.8g per 100g (2 sausages will be about 120g). I'm planning on having them with some creamy leeks.

prettybird · 13/01/2013 18:00

Oh - and some red wine too Blush

BigStickBIWI · 13/01/2013 18:00

ilovemteddy - yes, a high carb diet is implicated in cancer

Weekend away in hotel and not drifted too far off the diet. Lovely buffet breakfast so I went for huge pile of scrambled egg with mushrooms (not sure what they were fried in though) - followed by 4 slices of cheese and large bowl of full fat greek yogurt. I was so full I didn't need lunch. Now about to do fried tuna steak and broccoli for dinner.

Yama · 13/01/2013 18:30

Righto, before I go and read all the links I just get down what I've had today.

B - Chicken leg
S - Greek yoghurt
L - Salad with pate and Camonbert
D - Chicken breast stuffed with Tahini and wrapped in pancetta and cauli rice.

Womenandchickensfirst · 13/01/2013 18:34

Just want to thank ilovemyteddy for those inspiring photos!

I'm not losing very much as yet, and then had a 'planned cheat' last night, as we had friends round for a meal. I made a lovely Broccoli and stilton soup (they had bread with it), then slow cooked leg of lamb, cauli cheese recipe from thread - delicious, stir fried greens and swede and carrot mash. The planned cheat was the pudding - dark chocolate mousse, in a ramekin. I had a craving for pavlova and thought it would be ok - eggs, cream, berries, what could be wrong with that, but having looked at the carb content, and also some internet photos of meringues made with sugar substitute I decided to go for the mousse, and bloody hell, it was delicious. I also had a small G&T and 2 glasses of fizz - my first drink of the year. The out of control bit was some pieces of fudge that I served with coffee that were left over from Christmas, I had a couple of pieces I shouldn't have -and that is what alcohol does for you!
SO, I've been super strict today (although have driven over 300 miles so didn't want to drink too much water...) and have every confidence I'll be ok next week. It's lovely to hear of others in the same boat, and the support to keep on going.

MrsHerculePoirot · 13/01/2013 18:35

Oh dear, had Sunday lunch at my parents and succomed to one small Yorkshire pud, and a couple of roast sweet potatoes and one small normal roast potato. Obviously plus beef, cabbage and sprouts. BUT no cakes, puddings or chocolates, Doritos or breadsticks, drips or fizzy drinks and am chugging back the water.

Iamaslummymummy · 13/01/2013 19:04

Anyone with cfs/me on this thread? I'm finding it physically quite hard to do this type of cooking every day rather than just jam sobering from the freezer into the oven or sauce into pasta. Also how are you finding it affects your tiredness levels?

Iamaslummymummy · 13/01/2013 19:05

Btw slow roast pork, cauliflower cheese, Brussels with chorizo, Swede mash and real gravy. Then sf jelly and cream Grin

Valdeeves · 13/01/2013 19:23

BIWI please can you explain why cream is ok and not milk? I'm struggling with this one!

Firsttimepig · 13/01/2013 19:23

I just had pork belly for tea with spinach it was yum. Thought the list of veggies on here really helpful will print it out tomorrow. Neris and India recommend cabbage and onions in phase 2 but they are v.carby ! And they say you can eat as much cheese as you like ? I think I will be careful from now on the cheese front.
