Last one filled up really quickly, so here is a brand, spanking and distinctly thinner thread for you to fill up.

ILoveMyTeddy - you look tres gorgeoise! Well done!

NoveltySlippers - hope the bus ride was ok, and you didn't dwell too much on the last few days (it's the sort of thing I would do, oh well I might as well follow the Toast and Nutella with some chocolate as I've ruined it now). Tomorrow is indeed another day - I fully expect to be in your shoes at some point along the way, don't fret. These are for you Flowers.

Pistey - Yay, well done! This is for you but you're not allowed to eat it.

BlackAffronted · 13/01/2013 15:11

cold Grin it tastes amazing

Ilovemyteddy · 13/01/2013 15:19

Thanks all Thanks

MsRinky you go for it, girl! I know you have been doing this long enough to know that targets are good, but it's how we feel and how our clothes look and feel that is the true indicator of what we set out to achieve, not what the scales say.

Good luck for the weigh-in tomorrow everyone.

Black I'm suffering today too. Went out with good intentions last night but was really, really bad!

thatgirl Hope DS is ok

Novelty A psychologist friend told me a technique to use on blips like yours and mine this weekend. Imagine that situation as though you are outside it, watching it and give yourself constructive comments and learning points (absolutely no criticism allowed). So e.g. if I was watching myself at the dinner dance last night I might say "You are eating that pudding which you are not particularly enjoying just because it is in front of you. Next time I will remember that puddings really don't taste good enough to be worth it and say no thank you when the waiter brings it". It takes the sting out of things and by putting it into words and being non-critical and self-supportive it helps reinforce good habits.

teddy You look great! Congratulations.

mawbroon · 13/01/2013 15:24

halfthesize you just put a handful (or more Grin) of grated cheese into a non stick pan. Wait until it starts bubbling and looks a bit like lace, then flip. I just made some for ds1 and I put loads in a small pan so that the outsides were crispy and there was gooey cheese in the middle. He liked it so much I have made some more for him to have in his packed lunch tomorrow.

I guess it's a moderation thing with the cheese though because it does have carbs.

Hello,

I am on holiday at the moment and I don't have scales here. Last time I checked I'd lost 4.5lbs so I will use that for the sheet tomorrow. I drank a glass of orange juice today. Freshly pressed. I know I shouldn't have but I just had to. Smile

How is everybody getting along?

halfthesize · 13/01/2013 15:30

mawbroon thats sounds lovely, getting DH to grate cheese as I type x

BlackAffronted · 13/01/2013 15:39

cold Grin! Its like how I trick my 4 year old into eating veg.

NoelHeadbands · 13/01/2013 15:51

Had a sneaky look at the scales this morning, and a week and half in, I'm down 6lb. Huuuge relief to see myself almost back at what I was at the start of Dec (1lb to go for that, plus I want to lose another 9-10lb)

Breakfast today was Greek yoghurt and a coffee. Lunch was...skipped Blush which I know is not ideal but we had some visitors pop in, and also I adore my Sunday dinners so I've left room for a huge plateful of:-

Roast chicken
Roasted cauli and broccoli
Cabbage, sprouts and bacon done in butter
Swede mash
And I'll have a spoonful of gravy

Firsttimepig · 13/01/2013 15:51

williewaggledagger thanks for the encourangement I've never done a diet before so its all new for me. I have just added up all my cm lost and its nearly 40cm so I am pleased about that. My goal of buying some size 12 jeans will happen !! I am going to keep it up.

NoelHeadbands · 13/01/2013 15:52

NoelHeadbands · 13/01/2013 15:53

vnmum - It is indeed viral tonsillitis and we're home with a 10 day course of antibiotics and a tired and emotional DS. Bit of a nightmare but I'm just glad it's nothing worse...those rashes can really scare you. Thanks for the support.

I'm very pleased to report that I didn't succumb to any temptations in the waiting rooms ...I just sipped on a sparkling water from M&S food and then popped in and bought another 2 litre bottle on the way out.

I'm just having dinner/tea now...

Large salad, green leaves, 2 radish, qtr cucumber, 1 spring onion, some bacon lardons, smoked haddock and a yolky fried egg.

thatgirlsevil · 13/01/2013 16:50

FRIED CHEESE? Oh my.

Ilovemyteddy you look amazing, that's such a difference:)
It's a very positive thread:) very inspiring.

Ooh yes, fried cheese. Halloumi is nice as you can just chuck it in the pan and it doesnt need anything else to cook. I used to make ds omelettes stuffed with grated cheese. That might be a nice breakfast:)

Didn't eat breakfast yesterday on account of being at hospital. Was let out to wait for the head gyny who would be late, so had lunch at home, fish soup made by dh. Then nothing as had to wait hours at the hospital and there was no food available. I wasn't hungry and when I got home near midnight couldn't face food. Just had loads of water due to the dreaded ultra sound. Had 2 yesterday.
Oh, and the vending machine cappuccino x 2.

Today
B- fried egg, mushrooms. Dc had same but with leftover fried mash which I didn't touch! Even the leftovers.
L- salad, honey and lemon dressing with mozzarella( herb leave salad)
D- rest of fish soup. Dc had duck breast, which I pinched a bit as its lovely, creamy mash and broccoli, peas, so I had some veg.

And water. So much water:)

I bought some turkey bacon. It's zero carbs and very nice too:) dh made some as croutons for my soup:)

I never feel hungry.

BigStickBIWI · 13/01/2013 17:24

And another post, about fat

Notice the following quote:

"British Journal of Nutrition, 1998, vol. 79

?Low fat diets are associated with greater feelings of anger, hostility, irritability and depression. These mood changes appear to be biological consequences of inadequate fat in the central nervous system.?

And look at the date! 1998! But still we're being told to cut down on saturated fat.

Just poking my head in to say that I've concocted the most delish soup tonight which is quite frankly a surprise. Grin

Three chopped courgettes
Fry off lightly in a bit of butter and sesame oil
Added a few bits of sainsburys basics cooking bacon (as recommended by someone on this thread - thank you)
Add a knorr ham stock cube and some water to cover
When courgette cooked add splash of cream and season if necessary
Blitz with your Billy Blender

Yum, but does that sound ok carb wise?
