I'd love to lose a stone...

Classic case: been dieting for 10 years on and off, have a hubby who is probably a little underweight, have a 8mth old who needs stuff to be mashed, and I'd love to lose a stone. Saw a picture of me at a wedding yesterday, after I'd lost my pregnancy weight (only put on 6lb), and I nearly cried, looked massive.

I'm 25, a size 12-14, 5 7, and 11 st 8lb so a little chubby. I work 3 days a week and work in retail gardening so run around a bit and do lots of lifting.

I'd like to know if there's anyone who's managed to lose that last bit and if there's any tips?

Thank you

Feel great and am optimising my meals so i dont feel hungry or deprived! Dh looks to have lost weight too! Just need to keep up the motivation now...

specialsubject · 14/01/2013 13:06

OP, you are the same height as me and a few pounds lighter. I'm not massive and nor are you. I need to lose maybe those few pounds.

size 12-14 is perfectly normal at our height.

can I suggest getting real? And stop dieting, just eat properly.

DancingInTheMoonlight · 14/01/2013 13:36

Surely as an adult that is OP's own choice to make....Everyone has different builds and comfort zones when it comes to feeling healthy and comfortable in their own skin. Height and weight aren't a full representation. As far as i can see noone is eating unhealthily here and whether its called dieting or healthy eating is semantics as if you read the thread most of us are making healthier good choices and reducing calories. If you don't like the threads direction, you don't have to contribute...

daisydee43 · 14/01/2013 14:21

Yes special subject, this thread is for people who are looking to loose a stone or perhaps a little more. Personally I'm a 12-14 and feel better being a 10-12. Everyone is doing really well and feeling better so I would appreciate it if you don't spoil everyone's hard work, thank you

^^ what daisy and dancing said!

This isn't and "AIBU to think I need to lose weight?" - it's a support thread for those of us who feel better slimmer... So YABU for criticising!

daisydee43 · 15/01/2013 07:37

Official weigh in today have lost 4lb this week!!! Don't know how, did the same as last week but with a few treats at wknd. This takes my total weight loss so far to HALF A STONE!! Very pleased, couldn't have done it without all your support Smile

Daisy that's brilliant! Half way there and only 2w into January!

Looking forward to my weigh in on Friday now. Smile

Wommer · 15/01/2013 14:40

Am going to try and not weigh myself until Friday morning.
Have got into the habit of jumping on the scales every morning which sort of makes a weekly thing a bit pointless.
Also can be disheartening with the day to day fluctuations.

How's everybody'a day going?

daisydee43 · 15/01/2013 18:06

Yes I kno it's a bad habit to get into. Days going well, have been so busy I have barely thought about food. Getting into a habit of eating same as dd 8mths which I don't know if good or bad thing lol. Pleased to be half way down tho

DancingInTheMoonlight · 15/01/2013 19:24

Phew! Glad to be home after a busy day! Brought my own tin of soup to work tho so was good :-) Also ordered the 30 day shred which should be arriving in the next few days. Want to tone up my mummy tummy!

DancingInTheMoonlight · 15/01/2013 19:24

Well done daisy btw! Goes to show good old calorie counting works!

rusmum · 15/01/2013 20:12

Am I too late to join? Need a stone off, lost 3 last year but put Half a stone back on

daisydee43 · 15/01/2013 21:06

No not too late rudmum, everyone's got different weigh in days. How are you looking to lose the weight?

How's everyone going? Hope your all being good. Felt like I was picking off plates yesterday so have been strict again today. Remember- nothing tastes as good as looking good feels Smile

So I weighed myself this morning. (Yeah, I know, I wasn't meant to be until Friday and its not Friday yet...) and had put on the 2 lbs that I thought I'd lost at the weekend.
Tried to tell myself that it was most likely water weight as am due af next week but was still mightily pissed off.
My mum came up to London today to meet me for lunch and I just couldn't bring myself to order a salad....
Didn't so much as fall off the wagon as take a huge running leap yelling wooohoooo here I go!!!!
Had Steak, and chips (and a tiny side salad) AND chocolate ice cream. And a coffee. But I didn't eat the biscuit that comes with the coffee so it's not that bad?
Right?! Grin

Maybe I just won't eat anything except lettuce and rice cakes until next tuesday and it will all be fine.

(Yeah right. Wink)

Wommer · 17/01/2013 18:50

Daisy good news about your dds christening - that's a great motivator!
How old is your dd?

daisydee43 · 17/01/2013 19:35

Wommer don't panic, I find that a bad day often means that when you go back to your diet your body is kick started again, don't just eat lettuce tho as you won't be able to keep it up lol. Keep going, you are doing so well! Dd is 9mths btw

I'm doing ok. Went it fitter lunch with work yesterday and had a steak sandwich and chips BUT i Cal counted it and just had a yoghurt ww choc brownie for tea so i stayed under cals for the day. I feel better and lighter despite AF :-). Got the week off work next week tho...

Wommer · 18/01/2013 08:11

Well done dancing - that's what I should have done but didn'tSmile

Thanks Daisy. Turns out that af came early (by a whole week! DS is 7months and I think things are still settling down) and today have lost those 2lbs again Grin

So still on track for my stone by the end of feb wooop woooop!!

Am going to be ever so good today as am feeling quite skinny :) haven't been this light for over a year!

(And this morning also got on the scales and had DH lift my massively huge BFing boobs up and lost another 5lbs!!!
Amazous!!!!) GrinGrinGrin

DancingInTheMoonlight · 18/01/2013 13:02

Well done Wommer! I hold my weight in my belly boobs too. I'm surprised i haven't fallen off the wagon yet but i think the big 30 is motivating me! I really don't want to be fat and frumpy... I'm finding mfp is much easier than ww and Sliimming world for me to follow so I'm not greeting annoyed at trying to count points/syns! Has anyone got any treats planned once they get to goal?

daisydee43 · 18/01/2013 19:44

Urgh diet soft drinks are poo! What ones are nice?

OP posts:
DancingInTheMoonlight · 18/01/2013 20:12
