Okay I am going to be 100% honest on this - rules are

Post your height, weight and dress size
what you want to achieve
post everything you have eaten and drank every day if possible.
Also post details of any exercise taken.
When someone has been over indulgent we need to help support and remind them why they want to lose the weight.

anyone up for this?

I will start

I am 5ft 5" and weigh 16 stones Shock
I am a size 20 (but try to squeeze into 18!)
I have never been skinny but would like to be able to buy clothes anywhere so get to size 14ish.
I will post details later of food and exercise taken.

Someone join me please?

glitterfairy · 19/06/2006 20:32

It was nothing I wasnt expecting thanks schneebly! My X is an arse enough said!

I have just eaten far too much asparagus and have chronic indigestion which serves me right but I love the stuff. Am hugely enjoying this eating plan though lots of fish and veg!

spacecadet · 19/06/2006 21:23

just for curiousity sake, what are sw chips?

schneebly · 19/06/2006 22:19

Hi spacey - SW chips...

Peel potatoes and cut into chip shapes, par boil for 4-5 mins and give a good shake so that the edges get a bit fluffy. Spray a non stick oven tray with fry light spray and roast them in oven at {guess} 200ish turning halfway until golden brown. They are quite nice and 'free' on green day. I usually have them with baked beans and maybe an egg. Smile

Blimey, this thread's been active!

Welcome to all the new bods and well done to those who have lost weight this week.

Glitterfairy sorry you've had a shite day but WELL DONE on the 11lb, that's tremendous!

I've managed to lose another 1 lb. That means I've finally lost 1/2 stone since I started posting on here, so thanks for your support.

My thinking has been very muddled this week. I know I'm doing the right thing long-term, by trying to be more healthy as a whole, rather than strict dieting, and I couldn't cope with strict dieting anyway. The weight is coming off, but far too slowly and i just want a quick fix. I soooo wanted to have lost a lot more weight and be a "slimmer" 40 (i've got two months lol). That's just not going to happen and I've got to face facts. Having said that, on the positive side, I am eating more healthily and undertaking some exercise. I'm not as tired or lethargic, and my skin is definitely in better condition than it was. And I know I should be pleased that I've lost over 15% of my overall bodyweight, even if it has taken me two years lol.

I've also received three further comments about my weightloss, 1st from a colleague who hasn't seen me in months, 2nd from a friend I was out with just a few weeks ago but she'd really noticed a change, and the 3rd was from a male colleague (1st male to notice lol - DH is neither use nor ornament in this regard lol).

I have also got a renewed interest in my clothes/makeup. I have gone from wearing "what fits" to "what helps me look better". I've thrown out anything that is too big and I'm trying to wear more flattering clothes. I'm not totally successful, but there's a definite improvement. I've taken to wearing a bit of makeup more often too. It is surprising how much difference it makes to the way I feel.

My refreshed targets are:

To try to lose a stone prior to the cruise, whatever happens I want to get down below the next "Stone" mark (8lb);
To increase my exercise levels THIS WEEK - walking, exercise bike (I MUST GET BACK ON) and swimming.
To be a bit stricter with regard to meals / snacks.

schneebly · 20/06/2006 07:45

Hi mrsbang - great to hear that you are feeling so positive and well done on losing you half stone - that is brilliant! Smile It is really nice when people notice a difference! It motivates you further I find. How long have you got until your cruise? I am totally Envy by the way! Smile

Thanks Schneebly, I try to be positive but it's such a long haul.

We go away on the 15th August, and it's to compensate for getting old, rofl.

mrsbang · 20/06/2006 07:52

And good luck for tonight.

glitterfairy · 20/06/2006 09:14

15th August my birthday! A good day for everyone I hope!

Thanks for the congrats and the same to you. Making it a long slog means that the weight wont go straight back on if you eat more when it is all over! Also your skin tends to fit back rather than really sag!

I am concerned about having loads of excess skin and worried about what that will be like.

Anyway not had breakfast this morning as I feel sick after yesterday but am trying to be positive and have put a joint of pork in the bottom of the aga for tonight!

EvesMama · 20/06/2006 10:09

talking about skin..my legs look like elephants, not only in size but in textureBlush..theyre horrible, so am trying to drink more water..i could do with being re born and starting again i think!

spacecadet · 20/06/2006 18:30

mm, think ill make some of those sw chips, they sound quite tastySmile

mrsbang · 21/06/2006 07:05

Lol GF, another Leo! (there's three in our house lol)

I can't even begin to think about saggy skin, already got "saggy" arms (have had them a long long time). And the tops of my thighs, not a pretty sight lol.

Still, I walked a good mile with the boys last night before we went swimming, and I'm hoping to go again tomorrow and/or Friday.

And I'm just about to go and try a few minutes on the exercise bike for the first time in a while.

How did it go last night Schneebly?

mrsbang · 21/06/2006 07:06

And I hope you're feeling a bit less eugh today.

(mmm the pork sounds lovely too).

mrsbang · 21/06/2006 07:52

Yay, I finally made it back on the bike!

rofl.

schneebly · 21/06/2006 08:08

Well done for getting on the bike mrsbang - I have an unused one in the spare room - should really get on it ! I know what you mean about sagginess my arms are awful - bingo wings! I am only 26 too! I got on well at weigh in last night - 2lbs off! I would normally be delighted but needed 2.5lbs of to get my stone award! So close damnit! I guess I will have to wait until next week!

mrsbang · 21/06/2006 08:22

Well done Schneebly! So near and yet so far.

My arms have been like this since I was in my early 20s too, that's a long time of covering up, and it's one of those things that I can't see improving that much, no matter what.

I think, now I've got back on the bike, I'll be on it again regularly. I stopped when I had the "situation" with my dad and w stepmum and just never got into it again. Silly really I know.

We're also making a concerted effort with the swimming too, and hoping to go at least 2/3 times a week. Time will tell.

schneebly · 21/06/2006 08:30

We haven't had a local swimming pool for a few years now but a state of the art one opens at the end of the month - has pool, gym and health suite and...a creche! No excuses now!

EvesMama · 21/06/2006 12:34
