Okay I am going to be 100% honest on this - rules are

Post your height, weight and dress size
what you want to achieve
post everything you have eaten and drank every day if possible.
Also post details of any exercise taken.
When someone has been over indulgent we need to help support and remind them why they want to lose the weight.

anyone up for this?

I will start

I am 5ft 5" and weigh 16 stones Shock
I am a size 20 (but try to squeeze into 18!)
I have never been skinny but would like to be able to buy clothes anywhere so get to size 14ish.
I will post details later of food and exercise taken.

Someone join me please?

dont let one mars bar get to you mrsbang - we all do it! DH lost a whopping 8lbs!!! It was his first week and has a fair bit to lose but wow! He has done really well.

mrsbang · 24/05/2006 17:33

Well done mr schneebly!

(I've remained on track after the mars bar - just irritated myself that I'd started so early in the day lol, and I know I have to be strict this evening when I often have a munch attack)

schneebly · 24/05/2006 17:48

Better to have had the mars bar in the morning and have the chance to work it off than have it a night and then go to bed I think! Wink

glitterfairy · 26/05/2006 21:11

Have had a terrible pizza and chocolate night in but am going to the gym tomorrow so will work it off.

Am being wieghed at the gym next week so have to do better than this!

mrsbang · 27/05/2006 00:59

good luck Glitterfairy.

Well I survived the mars bar lol, (tend to save my treat(s) for the evening, just to avoid double quantities IYKWIM).

Not such a good day yesterday, or today, but I've been reasonable for 2 1/2 weeks again. We're off to Westonsupermare for a few days and I plan to chill.

Not made my target but I'm still lighter than I was, and my choice of holiday clothes is far bigger than it's been in years.

Small steps, small steps.

glitterfairy · 27/05/2006 10:32

Absolutely Mrs Bang I think that if you think wow I have ten stone to lose it becomes impossible to acheive whereas one is much much easier. Have been to the gym after two days away and feel better already.

I have written down a plan of how to get thinner and why I want to and what has always stopped me in the past and that has clarified my thinking. Having goals and targets seems better somehow and also knowing what I think life would be like thin is helpful.

schneebly · 27/05/2006 14:28

mrsbang - enjoy your hiliday!

glitterfairy - I think I will try that!

just bumping to see how everyone is getting on!? I have had a fairly good week - get weighed tommorow and think I have lost at least 2lbs but hoping for three so I can get to the half stone off!

glitterfairy · 29/05/2006 16:45

Hi I have had a dreadful weekend but am going to be back on track tomorrow! I am supposed to get weighed this week but am feeling worried now and may put it off until next week!

schneebly · 29/05/2006 17:32

Get weighed anyway - If it is bad news it will give you a kick in the bum to do better maybe!? Don't worry too much about a bad weekend - I don't really diet 7 days per week - I let myslef have one or two day where I have a little something extra that I want as long as I can keep control and am still losing weight. Might not be as bad as you think! Anyway - you are doing loads of exercise too which helps!

OP posts:
glitterfairy · 29/05/2006 21:43

Yes I have not done that for two days either and eaten my head off. Tomorrow is another day though! I will go and get weighed you are right!

schneebly · 29/05/2006 22:53

Just draw a line under it and start afresh tommorow! That is the best thing to do. Smile

schneebly · 31/05/2006 09:03

Hi guys - got weighed in last night and have lost 3.5 lbs this week so that means 7.5 lbs in the last three weeks which I am really pleased about - obviously still a long way to go but a good start. How are y'all? Smile

OP posts:
glitterfairy · 31/05/2006 11:22

Well done that is brilliant!

I am back exercising again which always makes me feel better. Trying not to take my horrible personal life out on myself by over eating which is hard. Pilates again tonight Oh God!!!!

schneebly · 02/06/2006 15:42

How are you all doing? I have been a little bit naughty this week so better buck up my ideas before tuesday!

Can I join?
About to hit 36 and facing the dread thought that it's now-or-never...

5 foot 9
12 1/2 stone
Size 16
Sugar, carb & butter junkie!
Have been in tears the last few times I went clothes-shopping.
Dug out the old Tchibo step-exerciser today. Have not lost an ounce since having DD1 2 months ago, despite breastfeeding and running around after a lively toddler. The weight dropped off last time, so I was lulled into a false sense of security and scoffed non-stop during my pregnancy. Hope it's going well with you ladies...

spangles · 05/06/2006 14:10

Hi all, can I join too?
I am 35, had 3rd child in Jan and despite BF the weight is on the increase. I am 5ft 8" and weighd in at 13stone 7lb Shock Blush
I constantly crave chocolate and would welcome any hints and tips to keep me on the straight and narrow from all you with willpower.
I dont get much time to exercise but I know that this will help me shed the lbs. Done weight watchers 3 years ago but stopped going when pregnant with 2nd child.

spacecadet · 05/06/2006 14:25

hi can i come back now?
now the house move is well out of the way, i feel i can really get stuck in now.
i saw the practice nurse today and she said, quite kindly, that i was dangerously overweight, the meds im on prevent weightloss, but the nurse said if im exceptionally strict and step up the exercise, i should lose weight.
here are my frightening statistics.

5ft 2
weight 14 stone!!!!!!!!!!!!
size 18/20
i have gained 6 stone since i got married 7 years agoSad
now im on my own, i need to get my self esteem back, also, i dont want to be fat and forty
preferably i would like to not have a stroke or heart attack either.
today i had fruit and fibre in skim milk.

aelita · 05/06/2006 14:26

Willpower? What's that then? Wink

schneebly · 05/06/2006 14:35

weclcome newbies and welcome back to spacey! (how is life in wales? It was wales you were moving to iirc?)

I have been taking pretty drastic action for the last 3 weeks or so - I am on 3 weight loss threads lol! I re-joined SW to help me get on the straight and narrow and got DH to join too! Grin I have been doing some walking too.
DH has lost 13 lbs and I have lost 7.5 - hoping for another 2 to 2.5 lbs this week but been quite bad so not sure!

OP posts:
spacecadet · 05/06/2006 16:22

thanks schneebly-yes im in north wales now, getting on ok, busy decorating!

mrsbang · 06/06/2006 00:15

Still around Schneebly, just about.

Had a lovely week on hols, moderate amount of walking everyday, didn't over-indulge too much (until I found the bread pudding on Thursday - I can't resist bread pudding). Also managed quite well over the weekend (this is a bad spot for me, I'm usually quite sensible on holiday - more relaxed and more regular meals together as a family and then overindulge over the weekend at home) until DH popped home last night with a big bag of minstrels. grrr.

Was proud of myself though - I left 1/2 a packet of butter, rather than using it all(we always have real butter on hols lol). A daft thing I know, but significant.

I have, inevitably put some weight back on, but am hoping to shift that again this week, and have had a good day today.

Had a shock today when I realised our big holiday (and therefore my 40th) is only nine weeks away - I thought it was 11) so even less time to get some serious dieting done. I was supposed to be a lot further along with this diet than I am, although I do keep reminding myself that I'm in a better position than I was.

So my new target, after the family wedding on Saturday, is to lose at least a stone before the holiday. Bit disappointed that I've not done better so far, but I can do it. I have to!

mrsbang · 06/06/2006 07:56

Good luck with your weigh-in today Schneebly.

And good luck to everyone else this week too.

schneebly · 06/06/2006 10:12

well done mrebang for excercising some control on holiday! 1 stone in 9 weeks is do-able - less than 2lbs per week - I am sure you can do it! Smile Not looking forward to the weigh in so much this week - been a bit bad but might have lost a pound I hope! Smile
