No spreadsheet to link to this week, as the LBD challenge is now over!

I don't know about anyone else, but I have definitely not had the greatest of weeks, and I'm keeping on keeping on until we get to Christmas.

Not quite sure yet what my own Christmas strategy is going to be, but I also guess it depends on where I've got to with my weight by then. I know that, having achieved my first major target of losing 2 stones, I still have more to go. So my next really major, very psychological target, will be to reach 9 stone. Something I have been trying (and failing) to do for the last 10 years! But now it seems so much more achieveable, especially with all you lot giving such brilliant support.

This week for me starts with a super strict day today. I'm out to dinner tomorrow, with a groups of ex colleagues, and venue is not yet chosen, but is likely to be a Chinese, which always brings its own problems. not to mention the wine

I'm also out to lunch on Friday, so it looks like Wednesday and Thursday will also have to be super strict!

hi guys,

hope you are all keeping well, i had a bit of a crappy weekend with stuff with dh but feel so much more positive today, we are sorting out all the financial stuff.

i used to use fitday.com, where you can log all your food in, see the ratio of fat to protein to carbs you are eating, and automatically see which nutrients you are low in. i haven't used it for ages and last night i typed in a typical day. well i got a SHOCK! i realise i have been suffering major carb creep with stuff like milk, and just little snacks. i am also in no way comfortable with the amount of calories or fat i am eating! but i am very pleased with the difference with the way things are from like a year ago.

i am aiming for between 30 - 40 grams of carbs a day, moderate protein and moderate - higher fat, although i am going to stop using as much mayonnaise and cream etc, i think for me calories and fat DO make a difference. i think seeing it down in black and white really helps me see whats going in and will really help me to keep motivated and understand what im doing.

its amazing how the carbs add up once you add the different foods in! i like having a proper meal plan, so once i have done a few days variations, it means if i freak out about what im going to eat, i can just rewind back to a day which i felt ok about, and copy the meals for that day.

good luck everyone :)

Jan - sorry to hear you've been having trouble with your DH Sad

Re the whole fat thing, I strongly recommend that you watch

Hopefully it will reassure you a little.

Remember, your food needs to be fat, then protein and then carbs, in order terms of proportions.

Be very careful about the whole calorie thing too - don't let this get you obsessing about food again. In fact, the whole counting thing is a bit obsessive really!

jan2013 · 07/01/2013 12:13

lol i understand... i think it helps me feel safe though if i know what im eating. once ive logged for a couple of weeks hopefully i won't need to anymore... i just need to know ive stopped gaining weight and then i will be ok about it all.

that is what the pie chart showed when i put my plan for today in, that it was fat then protein and then carbs so im glad its right now.

i will have a look at the video. got a solicitor appt soon... wish me luck! :):)

halfthesize · 07/01/2013 12:29

Jan sorry to hear you had a bad weekend with DH, but glad you are feeling more positive today.

halfthesize · 07/01/2013 12:29

Meant to say, good luck with the solicitors Jan

MrsHerculePoirot · 07/01/2013 18:48

Hi Jan I know we are on the new thread now, but it moves so fast! I just wanted to say good luck with your solicitor appointment and I'm sorry that you've had ExH trouble again - hopefully it will all get sorted and settled for you soon.

I, like half, also wouldn't dare to write down what I've been eating recently, epsecially yesterday, but am determined to get it sorted. This time next year I want to be one of the big losers!

JustasmallGless · 07/01/2013 19:34

Jan- let us know how y get on with solicitors. We'll all sort him it for you- messing with a LC stalwart ;) it's easy to get lost on big thread - couldn't believe when I finished work and there had been 250 posts Shock

ToomuchWaternotWine · 07/01/2013 20:23

I've come back here for a little breather from the madness of the week one thread!! Biwi has had to start a separate thread just for questions as its moving so bloody fast. The revolution starts here.....

Good luck jan the low carb Hit Squad will come round and pelt him with pork scratchings and Lidl litre tubs of yoghurt for you, just say the word Wink

Hope everyone is doing ok, I am very tired today as insomnia struck last night and I think I had about 3 hours sleep but I have managed to stay on plan nonetheless, no carb loading to prop me up any more!

halfthesize · 07/01/2013 20:30

Hi All, Grin @ Low carb hit squad.

Other thread is so busy I keep loosing track. Toomuch 3 hours sleepShock you poor thing..

I'm in the process of removing all nail varnish etc as have my operation 1st thing tomorrow, postponed from December. so I will be feet up and resting for 2 weeks, lots of time to OD on MNGrin

JustasmallGless · 07/01/2013 20:36

Toomuch-love the new name btw. I'm not dry for Jan Though- unlike Dosh! I did mine in November. Got the wedding of the year on Burns night with all the clans coming down so couldn't be dry Wink

Half- good luck for the op tomorrow. Hope it's not serious - be thinking of you

Am completely stuffed tonight- have eaten loads in an attempt to stave off the hunger but its sent me sleepy.
Hope you get some kip tonight toomuch

BigStickBIWI · 07/01/2013 20:36

Oh good luck with that, halfthesize

This is like a little oasis, this thread, isn't it? Grin

I'm more than happy to post/answer questions, but it does irritate me when people don't read the bloody rules!

Jan - hope the meeting with the solicitor went well

JustasmallGless · 07/01/2013 20:39

I'm even thinking of making a word doc with snacks, breakfasts and a link to recipe thread on!

BigStickBIWI · 07/01/2013 20:40

That sounds like a good idea! (A lot of work though ...)

halfthesize · 07/01/2013 20:51

Thanks ladies, nothing major, having a lump removedHmm but in a rather delicate area, sorry if TMI.

timidviper · 07/01/2013 20:58

Good luck half, hope it all goes well.

Likewise Jan, not an easy thing to go through but hopefully will be sorted before long.

I have survived a day out shopping. Gave up on the idea of finding anything decent to eat in the city centre restaurants so left DD and her friend to themselves and bought some prawns at M&S instead. Just trying to chill out a bit now as back at work tomorrow.

Doshusallie · 07/01/2013 20:59

Good luck with op half, and hope solicitors went well jan!

MrsHerculePoirot · 07/01/2013 21:10

BIWI I think you, and others here have been very patient tbh!

I also love our little oasis thread! Shhhhh......

Doshusallie · 07/01/2013 21:24

Sounds sooooooo patronising but it's like we were 10ish months ago! All the same questions, worries, anxieties.....bless 'em! Grin

EwanHoozami · 07/01/2013 21:51

half all the best for tomorrow.

Jacaqueen · 07/01/2013 21:59

That's what I was thinking Dosh.

Most of them are so lovely apologising profusely for all the questions.

BigStickBIWI · 07/01/2013 22:51
Grin I did actually think about starting a thread for us in Off The Beaten Track!
BigStickBIWI · 07/01/2013 22:51

.... but then thought that might be a bit too quichey

timidviper · 07/01/2013 23:17

BIWI We'd be accused of being the new moldies! Grin thought had crossed my mind it would be nice though!

Hopefully it will settle down after a while.

halfthesize · 07/01/2013 23:24

I do love our little retreat threadSmile
