No spreadsheet to link to this week, as the LBD challenge is now over!

I don't know about anyone else, but I have definitely not had the greatest of weeks, and I'm keeping on keeping on until we get to Christmas.

Not quite sure yet what my own Christmas strategy is going to be, but I also guess it depends on where I've got to with my weight by then. I know that, having achieved my first major target of losing 2 stones, I still have more to go. So my next really major, very psychological target, will be to reach 9 stone. Something I have been trying (and failing) to do for the last 10 years! But now it seems so much more achieveable, especially with all you lot giving such brilliant support.

This week for me starts with a super strict day today. I'm out to dinner tomorrow, with a groups of ex colleagues, and venue is not yet chosen, but is likely to be a Chinese, which always brings its own problems. not to mention the wine

I'm also out to lunch on Friday, so it looks like Wednesday and Thursday will also have to be super strict!

I think I'm following you in both my names now!

MrsHerculePoirot · 04/01/2013 23:28

WHAT?!?!?! Mulled are you on twitter and I am missing out?

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 05/01/2013 00:19

She is/we are! You are!!!

OMG 9st5lbs Blush Blush Angry up 9lbs from lowest, what a stupid thing to do!!!
I'm also on Twitter ladies, but quite new to it'sWink

WillieWaggledagger · 05/01/2013 08:40

Half I am up 10lb! Shocking because I got through Christmas with only 2lb on, so the rest is within the last week or so! Hopefully a goo amount will come off quickly in the first few weeks

I am on twitter but haven't used it for ages - I think you and I used to converse from time to time biwi (years ago). Maybe I will resurrect it

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 05/01/2013 08:47

Did we? Confused

It's bloomin' hard remembering everyone's MN name, real name and their Twitter name! I sort of dip in and out of Twitter at the moment (mostly because I spend all my time on these threads)

OP posts:
BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 05/01/2013 08:49

Don't worry about the weight gains. If you're ketogenically adapted, which you will be, you should find that it disappears quickly - especially if you're strict over the next couple of weeks.

Morning!

Go BIWI! Maintenance is still a good half a stone away for me but will be interested in what you come up with for that. I put on 5lbs over Christmas but I guess that wasn't eating 'normally' was it. All that cake, pudding, potatoes, etc., more like gluttony really.

willie good luck with the spreadsheet! rather you than me-- Grin

I am on the new thread but once it took off I ran away screaming. Promise to be more helpful from Monday.

Gless hope you're all feeling better this morning.

WillieWaggledagger · 05/01/2013 09:04

I'm not doing anything about it until Monday though - I've got a meal out tonight and a birthday thing tomorrow (no excuses really, I could make good choices, but I'm so out of routine now). It will be a relief on Monday

Sadly I can no longer say I'm maintaining though!

WillieWaggledagger · 05/01/2013 09:06

With all the fast moving Grenada it's difficult to keep up with what's going on with the old-timer low carbers!

Humph I hope your tonsillitis improves quickly - it's such a miserable thing to have, drink as much as you can bear

Hope your children are feeling better winegless

WillieWaggledagger · 05/01/2013 09:08

Fast moving threads obv

MulledwineGless · 05/01/2013 09:29

Grenada is fast moving!

I put on 6 lbs over Xmas and the festivities and 3lb off so far so good start for Bootcamp. It's the mindlessness of overeating that bugs me.
I was pretty good until the stollen and crisps came out. No more though. Back LC and feel sooo much better.

DC are better although dd woke everyone at 5.30 so all in one bed and I didn't get much sleep after that.

Humph hope the tonsilitis is better- once antibiotics kick in you should start to feel human again.

We have been invited to a friends for a curry with the children. If she makes it I will have to eat rice, if its takeaway I will have tandoori mix.

Off to brave the shoe shops- I may be some time......

halfthesize · 05/01/2013 09:43

Glad I am not the only one with weight gain, I am actually looking forward to MondayWink

Gless 5.30am, you poor thing and now shoe shopping, rather you than me, I hate that job..

Have fun tonight Willie & GlessSmile

Humph hope you feel better soon x

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 05/01/2013 10:01

I lay in bed on Tuesday night, my last night of eating whatever I wanted/drinking whatever I wanted, and realised I was having palpitations - and generally felt very bleurgh. Was it really worth it?!

I don't think there's anything wrong with having 'time off', but it's an interesting lesson in what excessive carbs can do to us.

Hope you're feeling better soon, Humph.

MrsHerculePoirot · 05/01/2013 10:22

Hope you are better soon too Humph.

BIWI I asked MNHQ to put a link to new thread and got an email this morning saying it was done - hope that was OK. We might have to keep an eye on the message count in the first few weeks so we can always link to new thread if we get close to 900 or something?

Am starting today - hurrah!

EwanHoozami · 05/01/2013 10:56

Half YUM to scallops. One of my favourite foods, I haven't had any for ages. Hope the party goes well.

MrsHP thank you for getting the threads linked, good idea.

I used to use twitter a lot but have left it neglected. I think you and I were following each other BIWI after one of those "let's all get on twitter" threads a couple of years ago. Maybe I'll fire it up again in honour of LCing.

My love handles are back. Bring on Monday!

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 05/01/2013 12:26

We appear to be buying a new car today!

Does make me smile that the registration plate starts with LC Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 05/01/2013 12:41

i have made a start on the spreadsheet here

i have added a new tab called 'low carb resources' where I thought we could list some websites/blogposts/books etc that have been useful? I've added a few already but have since had a mind blank. I know biwi hunts out some interesting info regularly and it can get lost in the threads

WillieWaggledagger · 05/01/2013 12:43

pressed post too soon

please do add other things you find useful and interesting (and rearrange and add headings too as needed)

MsRinky · 05/01/2013 12:57

Spreadsheet looks awesome willie, we'll done. Can you add me please?

MsRinky · 05/01/2013 12:58

Grrr, well done. Stupid iPad.

BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 05/01/2013 13:00

Wow - look how many people are signed up! That's a great job, Willie.

And good idea re other resources. Off the top of my head, I would say Dr Briffa's blog would be a good one to add here

OP posts:
BIWIshYouAMerryChristmas · 05/01/2013 13:03

And Dr Mercola , although there's a lot of selling going on on this site, it's a source of some useful nuggets too

This site is really useful

And although Carblife is very, very quiet these days, the archives are full of good stuff - plus there's a carb counter there
