Week 7 - Little Black Dress Low Carb Bootcamp - Only 4 weeks left!

Confess all here

I see some have already been to check in this morning - fab!

So how are you all doing? I'm sensing that there's been a bit of wibbling and wobbling going on (present company included) so maybe it's time to have a couple of super strict weeks?

Given that the party season will soon be underway, a couple of Bootcamp weeks should consolidate our losses and hopefully get a few more of those pesky pounds out of the way.

Mrs Hp -whoop whoop
Well done you have been waiting for that pesky drop for a while!

I have been to the ideal home Xmas exhibition in London village today but got taken ill with D and v so just struggled home on 4 trains to get bask earlier than planned.

Just had cup of bovril in hopes to replenish salt levels.
Mighty fecked off at my day being ruined. The joys of children-Dd was off school
With it yesterday having woken up n a pool of both

SingingTunelessly · 14/11/2012 22:05

Butterflies I appreciate you are not in the UK but I did a double take at the gun down the sink! Grin

Everyone who is on polling duty tomorrow wrap up warm it sounds chilly.

B: Three egg omelet with mushrooms and spinach, coffee x 2 with double cream.

S: handful of nuts.

D: Roast Chicken, green salad, toms and mayo.

3ltrs of water.

Bit light on veg/variety today but DH away so I CAN PLEASE MYSELF. Grin

JessicaWakefield · 14/11/2012 22:35

Thank you for your really kind messages. I'm feeling better although still washed out with minimal appetite but am forcing the water down.

Wine really sorry to hear that you've come down with vomiting. Sounds very similar to what I had, one minute you're fine, then you're really really not. Good idea to top up the salt levels. I didn't and got very bad cramps. Hugs to you and DD, hope you're both feeling better soon.

Mrs HP that's great news, a number change is brilliant, well done!

BIWI how are you feeling?

Viperidae · 14/11/2012 22:43

Good luck to those of you doing the election tomorrow. I regard it as my duty to vote but haven't a clue how this time. We have had no contact from any of our candidates and I can't tell from t'internet if I like any of them or not.

We are away this weekend with friends and I have no control of the food so am just going to have to have the weekend off then get right back on Monday.

Today I have been quite good again
B: Omelette with chicken and bacon
L: Chicken with garlic and herb dip
T: Chicken with asparagus and tomatoes in low carb barbecue sauce

Very chicken-y day but it seemed different each time. The sauce was very nice for when you fancy a sweet-ish dish. I'll put it on recipe thread when I get a minute.

WillieWaggledagger · 15/11/2012 04:10

I know what you mean about voting viper

I don't think candidates have been allowed thre one free mailing each that you get in normal elections

Hope those of you involved are able to keep warm! Doesn't sound like you'll need the use of the fridge anyway!

Boobz · 15/11/2012 05:55

Apologies for the radio silence - my dad has been staying for the last week so I have been busy and off the web! But I have finally added my Monday weight to the spreadsheet (117lbs, only one measly pound off from the week before - grr) but still a loss so that's ok.

I am now famous too as I'm on the spreadsheet as the biggest loser % wise! Yippee! Am going to try and load up some before / after shots as I have taken them for my P90X regime which I started 30 days ago (but obviously started Lcing 46 days ago...)

jan2013 · 15/11/2012 06:02

hope it goes well toady for everyone doing the elections

Biwi sorry to hear youre under the weather :( hope you are all well again soon

im doing ok again with the low carbing and managing some exercise every day - i am really feeling these few extra pounds ive packed on the lsat couple of months and am quite impatience about wanting rid of them. when i lose fast, i tend to gain fast though so i guess being patient and slow is the better option.

BIWI · 15/11/2012 07:26

STILL feeling horrible Sad

It's all in my sinuses so I'm just hoping it doesn't become infected. I have a vague headache which is worrying me for that very reason.

However, on the positive side, I'm down a bit more, to 9 stone 7 1/2 pounds - which I was very pleased by, as I have fallen into a bottle of wine last night and Tuesday in an effort to make myself feel better.

Sorry to hear about your day, WineGless. Would rather have this than your D&V

EwanHoozami · 15/11/2012 07:59

BIWI ugh, hope you manage to swerve sinusitis, that truly is a misery. If you tap lightly over the area with your ring fingers it's supposed to help drain them.

B - Lidl yog
L - Lidl caviar on celery with cold meats (prob won't make the LCLC blog Grin )
D - Coconut beef and spinach curry w/ cauli rice

Am planning a beef and chicken liver cottage pie for tonight. Will that be weird?

Hope all the election workers stay warm today. I must look up the candidates and vote.

MrsHerculePoirot · 15/11/2012 08:01

BIWI I think I,ve had/have some similar. Was all blocked up and got the headache for a day, had a day when I felt slightly like I was getting better. Then my ears blocked up last Sunday and have stayed the same. I feel tired, like my head is full of cotton wool which is annoying in a classroom as the background noise drives me mad! It just seems to be lingering for ages... Hope you feel better soon.

I successfully navigated nandos I think. Butterfly chicken with ratatouille and grilled halloumi on the side. Not a single piece of pitta nor a single chip passed my lips, nor any alcohol. I did drink my body weight in diet coke mind, but back on the water today!

Wine I hope you feel better soon. I hope everyone involved in elections stays warm.

BIWI · 15/11/2012 08:06

Ewan - can you post a link to your blog, please?

OP posts:
EwanHoozami · 15/11/2012 08:19

I haven't started it yet Blush but once I've got a bigger range of recipes I'll build it and stick a link up.

I feel a bit conflicted about the low-cost angle because I believe that buying the best possible quality food is an investment in my family's health, but when I'm skint I'm skint. Hence padding out decent mince with chicken liver (cheaptastic) whereas pre-LC I'd have used lentils and carrots.

hurricanewyn · 15/11/2012 10:46

Ewan - can you report back on how the cottage pie works out. I often get chicken livers for 10p in Sainsburys at the end of the day, but only ever fry them with bacon so would love to try something else.

Shagmundfreud · 15/11/2012 11:02

Only lost a lb (so now just under 10 and a half stone) this week, but waist now down to 30 inches (I've got an antique solid silver belt that I've been using as a guide - haven't been able to get it done up comfortably for years. This morning it fitted with no bulging over or under it! Smile)

WillieWaggledagger · 15/11/2012 11:45

chicken livers sound interesting - have never tried, but will have to do so. unfortunately dp is allergic to all things fowl (seriously!) so will have to be on an evening when he is out

(actually, he's at a dinner tomorrow night, but i have already got myself a tasty sirloin oh yes)

MsRinky · 15/11/2012 11:51

Had good big breakfast this morning as have had tooth out this morning and don't know when I will next feel able to ear. Ugh.

clare8allthepies · 15/11/2012 12:44

Only just got round to updating the spreadsheet, one and a half pounds on Angry
Since then though I've had a word with myself, no more cheating and I've shredded every day, a sneaky peek on the scales and reckon I've lost the pound and a half already but will have to try hard not to sabotage myself as usual!

Doshusallie · 15/11/2012 13:51

2 baby bels and some Alpro yoghurt for breakfast.

3 egg omelette with yellow pepper and mushrooms for lunch.

Stick of celery with pate for a snack.

Over a litre of water drunk so far.

Went to gym the morning.

Have just found out that the theatre break I booked for DH and I for his birthday and our anniversary is on the same weekend that he was booked to go to Butlins with his mates. Mine is non-refundable so he is cancelling Butlins. I think he is a bit relieved TBH!

NewStartSameStory · 15/11/2012 14:41

Sorry to hear of food posionings, illness and other bad news.

Congratulations to those who have lost weight and a big woo hoo to those that have moved into a new weight bracket.

Things have got very out of control here and needed my attention, and energy and zapped my will power. I am very pleased surprised to have stayed the same weight having expected a gain. Also pleased to have shrunk out of some trousers. Not so pleased that I am mid way between the trousers that lurk in my wardrobe. I have two choices. lose another half stone or buy some new ones. i know what I wan to do.

Also had an interesting convo with the doc. about this. He had one concern - what happens when there is no more fat to burn. Hmm With this diet? not likely to happen. Aside from that he is happy with the progress of migraines, weight, shakes etc etc. so that has to be good. Now to get back on track. Just no promises to be about much atm though. Life is insane. :(

Onwards and downwards.

hurricanewyn · 15/11/2012 15:19

MsRinky - you have my sympathy. Hate tooth ache.
BIWI & Wine - hope you both feel better very soon.
NewStart - surely by the time you 'run out' of body fat, you'll be maintaining so you'll have increased your carb intake & be eating the right amount to keep your weight stable?

Very bored here. Only 18 people been in since 7am. Had a chorizo & mushroom omlette for breakfast & tuna mayo with a side salad for lunch. I'm trying to space my meals out to prevent me eating out of boredom.

Hope everyone's well though.

Viperidae · 15/11/2012 15:22

I'm the same with trousers NewStart, my work ones are looking rather baggy but my others still feel tight. It's odd because I was wearing them before when I was heavier than this and thought they were ok.

I had a shock yesterday as I was clearing out some clothes and found a nice twinset (for want of a better description, although that sounds very twee!) which I remember wearing a few years back, tried it on and it was quite tight despite being the right size. I must have put on weight slowly and gravitated unconsciously to looser styles. Anyway I wore a top to work today that I bought a while ago then decided it was too clingy and it isn't now so I'm heading in the right direction.

I'm planning to try my ice cream machine later and see if I can make a low carb version for a special treat. Has anyone tried this already? Any advice or thoughts?

WillieWaggledagger · 15/11/2012 15:25

newstart - sorry to hear that things hvae got a bit crazy for you, but you do sound positive in yourself? good that doc is pleased healthwise too

does your doctor mean no more body fat to burn?

with this woe (as with many) your weightloss does slow down as you get towards goal, though i think some people have overshot their goal (?jins). people on here seem to have found that they might need to restrict fat a bit as they get close to goal, because (I think) as a low carb, high fat diet won't make you put on weight, if your body is getting adequate fuel from your food intake then it won't need to use fat stores (ONLY seems to apply if you are getting close to goal and stalling!).

BIWI · 15/11/2012 16:00

If you have no more body fat to burn, then surely all that happens is that you burn fat that you are consuming?

Or am I missing something here? Hmm

JaxTellerIsMyFriend · 15/11/2012 16:47

hello hello. Tonight I am off out to dinner - a friends house; 1 of the 4 of us who are off on hols soon. God love her she has tried to cook low carb to accommodate me. So here is the menu -

carrot & coriander soup (didnt have the heart to tell her no carrots)
pork (with crackling) broccoli and cauli cheese, roast potatoes - wont eat the spuds
no idea what is for pudding.

I am not drinking as I am driving and I know her cheese sauce will have flour in, but I just felt like that would have been a bit too much for her as she knew I ate cauli cheese - just not the regular way.

So today all I have had to eat is a 3 egg omlette around midday, some yoghurt just now and black coffee - and water. I am trying to do damage limitation.
