Motivational Monday - where we are motivated to stick to our diet and exercise plans for the rest of the week.
Progess logged on Kato's spreadsheet (if you want to of course)

IMST looks amazing. She's half the woman she used to be. Grin

Seriously though steppemum if you look on the spreadsheet you'll see it has been down to consistent and realistic weight loss. I don't think IMST did a strict week but she used MFP really well. You can do it too and in six months it will be you being an inspiration to any new people on the thread. I wish it was me but I don't have the will power.

steppemum · 23/01/2013 10:21

what is MFP?

InMySpareTime · 23/01/2013 10:37

Hair, I'm blushing now Blush! MFP is the My Fitness Pal app, you can scan the barcodes of foods you eat, it's a free app, and helps you count calories and log exercise.
I'm not quite half the woman I used to be, currently 73% . I feel much better though, possibly because I didn't cut everything out of my diet, just addressed the reasons I ate too much and changed to eating just enough.
Losing the weight has helped me get the confidence to leave my old job and start my own business too, I am doing what I love to do, and while I'm not dripping with diamonds, I look forward to work each day now.
It did feel like it would take forever at the start, but a pound or two every week soon adds up, and once your habits change, it keeps coming off.

steppemum · 23/01/2013 11:01

I am finding this thread really helpful. When I am tempted to cheat I think about having to weigh in next week. Thanks ladies (you are so nice, but I so do not want to weigh in over!)

I did some thinking yesterday about why I over eat too. I know I graze biscuits etc at home because I am bored and putting off jobs that need doing. I can understand that one. But I do get times when I just desperately want to go and buy a bar of chocolate or a MacDonalds and stuff it. I can't pinpoint why I feel that strong urge and it is realy hard to resist.

LollipopViolet · 23/01/2013 15:27

OK, so, today hasn't been great.

Didn't get the job, but got some nice feedback. Had dessert with my nice salad too.

Oh well, 4 days of good eating should limit the damage, hopefully!

eighty, it was more that I've got some things going for me: nice looking CV, good telephone manner/voice and I came across really well in the interview. Other candidate had done high pressure sales before so they got it.

Got an interview with the Prince's Trust tomorrow, so that's good, and might have some freelance film work (albeit voluntary).

LollipopViolet · 24/01/2013 17:06

I HAVE MY DRESS! Grin

Photos in my thread here

Also had my Prince's Trust interview, I'm on the Team programme from February 14th :) Aaaand, I've done really well eating today so yay!

InMySpareTime · 24/01/2013 17:23

Yay LV, well done on both counts. I have date night tonight so not great food-wise (wine, chicken kiev, oven chips, peas for dinner and a maple and pecan lattice for cakepie)I've done a lot of walking though so might get away with itGrin.

reastie · 24/01/2013 17:58

Wow LV that dress is fab and really suits you IMO. Well done on the team programme thing AND the eating well.

IMST honestly, really well done, 18 - 10 is AMAZING. WHat an inspiration. I know that sounds pathetic but I mean it.

Diet wise relatively good day today I think. Feel like I'm coming down with a cold so hoping it's not a bad one.

Bonkey how are you now?

8020 we have date night every week, usually Thursday but the day changes dependent on DCs/DH/my commitments.
The DCs eat whatever they please for dinner, then go off to their rooms while me &DH eat dinner. We spend the evening talking about bits and bobs, nothing in particular, but it stops little niggles turning into arguments.

LollipopViolet · 25/01/2013 11:25

Well, I've not gone skating today :( I have a rotten head cold and there's snow predicted here. Even without the snow prediction, I still wouldn't have gone, I'd have got nothing out of my lesson and it would've wiped me out physically.

So I'm staying in til at least Monday. On the plus side, I don't feel like eating much.

8 and 11, they can play quietly in their rooms until 7pm, then go to sleep.
We tend to cook easy food that we wouldn't have with the DCs, such as oven bake stuff or filled pasta, pesto, naan bread, jar sauces that's dirty food in this house . About once a month we have take away, but I've learned to stop when full, and keep the rest for lunch next day.
DCs are great, but time for DH gets squeezed unless we make it a priority.

Envy of date night discussion. DD is nearly 2 and the thought of a date night seems far away, esp as I still bf at night so can't leave her in the evening.

LV now, question is, have you got shoes to match the outfit yet? Hope you feel better soon and don't get too much snow. We might have some tonight apparently but I don't think there will be heaps. FWIW I'm a bit down today as I'm getting a cold too - hope it wasn't you that sneezed on me Wink

steppemum · 25/01/2013 22:18

LV lovely dress you look great

LollipopViolet · 26/01/2013 09:10

reastie it wasn't me who sneezed on you, honest! I have a pair of comfy, nice looking shoes that I'll try with the dress, and if they don't go, then it'll be a spot more shopping.

We have about 6 inches of snow Shock but annoyingly, it came AFTER I would've been safely home from skating. I was in no state to go yesterday though. All being well, I'll go Monday or Tuesday, and try and get a half hour lesson from my coach to make up for missing a week :)

InMySpareTime · 27/01/2013 08:06

I'm logging on MFP today just to check I've not strayed wildly off course.
I'm still losing slowly, my aim is to drift gently down to 9st 3lb (top of healthy BMI) and maintain there. 1st to go.
How's everyone else doing? Still motivated? The snow's melted now, good time to get back out while it's briefly warm. Bring waterproofs!

reastie · 27/01/2013 21:06

Hi all

IMST snow pretty much all gone here now. I'm actually feeling quite motivated at the minute - I'm just about squeezing into my pre preg skirts (although they are too tight really but you can't see with a top/jacket on top) and have I think about 8 lbs to go until I should fit into more of my pre preg clothes more comfortably. I've now hit the 60lbs loss mark and am close to being overweight rather than obese, but not quite there yet! I agree with what kato said before - I'm eating chocolate most days still but am at the minute managing a slow but steady loss. It's a way of life I guess, I just have to get used to it.

LV have you still got snow?

InMySpareTime · 27/01/2013 21:49

Brilliant loss Reastie!
I bit the bullet and bought some size 12 pyjama bottoms, as my old size 16-18 pair were in serious danger of falling off and tripping me up.
I also bought leggings but had to go back to the shop as I found the security tag still on when I got homeBlush and they are a bit loose, not lumpy, just fabulous looking!
I am quite impressed how my figure is shaping up, (I check myself out in mirrors and think "wowGrin") I never thought I'd be saying that!

LollipopViolet · 27/01/2013 21:58

Snow is pretty much gone - woohoo! Going to have another day of getting rid of this cold tomorrow, then skate Tuesday I think :)

I looked in the mirror today and for once thought, "Actually, I look alright, still a lot of work to do but I don't look that bad".

Trying dresses was a revelation - when I found the one I bought I just KNEW it was right, even if it wasn't the size I wanted (couldn't get the zip all the way up on a size 14 so had to get a 16) I thought, "yep, I look good in this, and I feel good too!"

Actually looking forward to weighing tomorrow :)

InMySpareTime · 28/01/2013 07:31

Motivational Monday again. Who's weighing in today? I'll do it once back from the school run.
MFP check day was fine, 'twas well under.
This week I need to do exercise, I felt a bit meh last week and did the bare minimum.

LollipopViolet · 28/01/2013 10:52

Well, I weighed this morning. Expected a maintain because of TOTM and my meal out (including dessert) on Wednesday.

Nope, maintain didn't happen. I've lost another 2lbs Shock so that's the 3 I put on gone, plus an extra one that's followed it.

So, if I'm good, and don't slip up, in theory, I could lose a stone before my friends get married in March Shock Grin

That's serious motivation, right there!
