Get well soon caramel .. Very impressed you could eat jellied eels when you're sick Shock I don't think I could stomach them even if I was in tip-top condition !
Maybe another few weeks of bootcamp will teach me, I always used to hate cabbage too and now I love it !

NewStartSameStory · 11/10/2012 22:23

Not ill Carb flu. And thankfully my dad is being released from hospital tonight. So one heart related scare over with.

ForSaletotheHighestBidder · 11/10/2012 22:28

Hi all, hope all those having a bad day or not well are nicely tucked up in bed or on the sofa with feet up.
Good day today.
B: 2 boiled eggs
L: burger, broccoli, green beans, small bit of gravy, lots of green salad
D: more salad with pulled pork, coleslaw, tomato
Had coffee with cream-gross. Going back to a splash of milk. Find a coffee with a teaspoon of Splenda kills my sweet cravings.
Of to drink a litre of water as can't remember how much I drank today, know it was at least 2l.
Thanks for the kind words last night re ds and freaky accident, he is fine, I hope to stop having freak attacks about what might have happened in time..

Minge thread is helping! Grin

foosty · 11/10/2012 22:38

caramel - sorry you've been feeling so rotten, but how the HELL did you eat jellied eels when you've been so poorly?

you'd have to pay me vast amounts to even let one touch my lips

tempertemper · 11/10/2012 22:38

Please may I join? I have been arsing around half heartedly for a while, but perhaps if I actually POST something on here, it may give me the impetus to crack on.

I have low carbed in the past. Am usually a Briffa sort but the fruit and nuts get the better of me and send me hunting for sugar. Having gorged on buttercream tonight I feel the need to abandon the carbs again and free myself of the sugar cravings.

Will weight in the morning. Eggs for brekkie it is, then.

caramelwaffle · 11/10/2012 23:09

Welcome temper

foosty cathy - MiniWaffle wanted to go for pie and mash as a (previously promised) treat. The only thing on the menu I could have was the tea and eels. Tried it (googled what the jelly is made from - a real eyeopener) with lots of vinegar (well a few bites), didn't think I would be able to eat anything but thought of THE BIG STICK OF DOOM and it was...ok. A bit spicy/muddy tasting Smile

Really wanted something sweet to make me feel better, so have cheated and eaten two chewy vitamin tablets Hmm

Viperidae · 12/10/2012 00:06

vnmum Well done! Grin

Had an odd day today, stressed at work as being driven up the wall by colleagues and patients alike and very rushed day which threw me a bit. Food was -
B: Leftover chilli bake (I know it's odd but I couldn't be arsed cooking breakfast!)
L: Prawn wonton soup (probably not strictly allowed but I checked and it only has 3.3g carbs)
Snack: M&S chicken bits
T: Prawns with thousand island dressing in avocado, Steak, tomato, asparagus, green beans

Snuck on scales today and looking quite hopeful Smile.

hurricanewyn · 12/10/2012 06:00

Morning all.
Hurray for vnmum - you're right, fab christmas chez you!
wine - I hope you're ok
Hope everyone else is ok.
Totm round here, so I am resolutely staying off the scales else I'll fall into a vat of chocolate in despair.
Breakfast today will be a cheese omlette. Dinner will be a thai curry with 'miracle' noodles. I also have a chicken thigh for snacking on.
Hope everone else has a good day.

caramelwaffle · 12/10/2012 06:26

Good morning everyone.

Hope that everyone that is unwell gets well soon

Thai curry sounds nice hurrican think I may have that tonight.

Have jumped on scales and have lost quite a bit in past few weeks (onwards and downwards) Really notice it in the top of my arms, which the exercise is helping to tone up.

Am thinking of switching MiniWaffle over to a Paleo type diet in the main.

Breakfast will be Greek yoghurt before exercise.

Have a good day everyone.

dotty2 · 12/10/2012 06:45

Went out for dinner last night and had a gin and slimline - my first alcohol cheat. I don't feel great this morning. So please don't shout. Foodwise, there were good choices, though having declined the boulangere potatoes that came with my main, they brought me extra roasted baby carrots and parsnips. I ate one or two and it was very difficult to leave the rest on my plate. So not the best day, all in all.

B - planning smoked salmon and scrambled eggs
L - to be determined when shopped
T - going to do the spicy pork mince from the recipe thread

Got up early to get some work in pre-school run - should get on.

tempertemper · 12/10/2012 07:45

Scales this morning were evil bastards.
Please add me to your spreadsheet at 173lbs.
I am 154 at my fighting weight.

Eggs eaten. I am ready to face the carb flu: bring it on.

EwanHoozami · 12/10/2012 07:56

welcome tempertemper

beef rendang tasting even better this morning. DH is looking at me oddly Grin

BigBroomstickBIWI · 12/10/2012 08:08

I am loving the BIG STICK OF DOOM Grin

Welcome, temper.

Scales are my friend this morning, now showing me at 9 stone 8 3/4lbs.

Sorry not to be around much you're probably very glad I've not been rampaging around the thread with my big stick but I've been working till late the last few days.

Caramel - sorry to hear you haven't been feeling great. If you think it's your electrolytes, please make sure that you keep your sodium/potassium levels up. Salt, salmon, avocado are all good for this. Maybe drop your water down a little?

Well the pesky pound that I put on yesterday has gone and taken another one of the little blighters with them.

Yesterday I was 13st and felt a bit rubbish.

Today I am 12st 12lbs and feel positively sylph like.

Kudos for eating the eels caramel.

Ewan do you have a recipe for the beef Rendang?

BigBroomstickBIWI · 12/10/2012 08:43

Brilliant, Jac!

OP posts:
Poppy1234 · 12/10/2012 08:53

Woohoo another pound gone, absolutely delighted. 4 to go until target. Delighted as I stand on the scales thinking I can't possibly have lost weight as I eat so much.

B: Greek yoghurt
L: Egg mayo and salad
D: Cardamon butter chicken with roast cauliflower and spiced spinach

BigBroomstickBIWI · 12/10/2012 09:09

Doesn't feel like a diet, does it, Poppy?!

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 12/10/2012 09:19

Spent a noble hour yesterday removing lots of my old carby stuff from my Asda online "favourites" and replacing with lots of LC orders. Still some stuff for DH and DS but I will avoid their goodies!! (And keep working on slowly converting them, although DH is Glaswegian with a very sweet tooth so that may never happen!)

Actually looking forward to another browse round Lidl on Sunday to see what other LC yummies I can discover. And I am so NOT a domestic goddess type AT ALL Smile

Jins · 12/10/2012 09:54

Feeling a bit better and the pound seems to have stayed off

I hope a bit more will go with it but this was my sticking point last time round and it took ages to get below my current weight.

cathyandclaire · 12/10/2012 10:11

Little dd's 14th birthday today ( oh where did the time go?) Have successfully negotiated the cake baking and decorating with NO spoon licking, did bacon sarnies for breakfast so I just had the bacon...but it is going to be a very looooong day with lots of temptations. May need to fall into a G+T to keep myself away from the cake ( or will that just make me even more weak willed? )

WillieWaggledagger · 12/10/2012 10:14

struggling on here, feeling awful and no appetite but dragging myself into work as just too much to do. forcing water down poorly throat but i know it's good for me in so many ways (get yer violins out)

that's enough self-pity!

caramel i have to say that jellied eels is dedication to the low-carb cause! not sure i could have done that

temper you are on the spreadsheet you can put your weight in in columns C and G (same weight in both)

butterfliesinmytummy · 12/10/2012 10:41

Seem to have hit a plateau.... Lost 7lbs in 8 days and nothing since Tuesday.... At least I'm not gaining. Being very good with food, but finding it hard to make myself eat (just shows what an effect all that sugar was having regarding cravings etc). I have never eaten breakfast and I'm finding hard to eat lunch too. Today I had tuna sashimi with lots of Japanese radish and salad and a piece of cheese, drunk lots of water (I have a new water bottle that goes everywhere with me) and its 5.30 here and I'm not remotely hungry. Cooking pizza for the kids and not tempted, but there are prawns in the fridge so might look at them later. Will keep eating 2 meals and a snack though as I don't want to miss out on nutrients, although what I am eating already has more nutrients than the biscuits I used to inhale...

Hoping plateau not too big and weight loss kicks off again but it's so fab not wanting to eat all the time , quite liberating....

Doshusallie · 12/10/2012 10:56

Well I am back to 9 2 and the scales teetered on 9 1!!! Very happy.

Less dairy for me is clearly the way forward.

2 boiled eggs for breakfast.

Swam a mile this morning. 20 lengths front crawl, 10 breaststroke, 10 backstroke, 10 legs with float, 10 arms with float, 2 more crawl 2 more breaststroke.

Felt compelled to tell you all that, I am sure you are fascinated. Grin

Boobz · 12/10/2012 11:06

Well done everyone!

Another 90 min Hot Yoga session for me today, and ran 10km yesterday with some sit ups thrown in.

Today:
Breakfast: 2 boiled eggs, 2/3 teaspoon of butter, 1 slice brown bread
Snack 1: Protein shake
Lunch: 2oz chicken, 2 macadamia nuts, 1/2 orange
Snack 2: 1 cup milk, 6 olives
Dinner: 2 oz steak, salad and 1 cup broc

2l water. 2 cups of tea with 1 sweetner each time.

Total weight loss since Oct 1st: 8lbs - am now 121.5lbs. Awesome.

(N:B Am on the Zone diet, hence my tiny bits of carb in there)

toomuchmonthatendofthemoney · 12/10/2012 11:08
