Week 1 Weigh-In - Little Black Dress Low Carb Boot Camp

i know you're all dying to get started on the low carb boot camp, and for those who haven't done this before, here is the link to the spreadsheet where you should record your starting weight for Monday 1st October in column c next to your name. Please don't touch any other columns for now

weight is recorded in lbs, so if you have problems converting from kg or stones, FiddledeFat made a handy widget which can be found in the tab at the bottom labelled 'conversion'

if your name isn't on the spreadsheet then you can add yourself by adding a new line and dragging the formulae down from an adjacent row, or just ask me to add you and I will do so as soon as i can

good luck with the first week of bootcamp!

We have a Sainsbury's but it is a little further away. Will go there tomorrow if I have time.

Salad and chicken for lunch. And more water

chrome is fine, i use chrome, explorer and firefox depending on what i'm doing. google docs inevitably work better in chrome (they freeze for me in explorer)

woozy have added your overall loss and i think have added everyone who has asked so far...

sorry if anyone has been trying to add things while i fiddle about with it myself

there are 58 people who haven't yet weighed in...

caramel I go to the gym at least 3 times a week and have been LC since April(original bootcamp) I find I have loads of energy.

I did do 5 times last week, but its rare I can manage that much normally due to DH working hours and DC x 3Smile

shagmund I take chromium and also magnesium, supposed to help with sugary food cravings.... couldn't tell you if they work, or whether it's this WOE generally that has reduced cravings. (I've been doing this for a few months now).

Shagmumd I've been taking chromium (from H&B) for a couple of weeks and I've found that I very rarely have an urge to snack and if I do, a glass of water sorts it out.

This could also be because my body has sorted it's own sugar levels out, of course. I plan to pause taking it after my current bottle of 30 have run out so see if it was having any effect.

There's usually chromium in a good multivit anyway.

caramel when i first changed to this woe i found exercise beyond a brisk walk really tough (previously had been running quite long distances), and it made me feel horrible afterwards

i stopped for 2-3 weeks, and changed to exercising (running and dvds like shred) in the afternoons after work instead of first thing in the morning and i'm back up to where i was before. my body seemed to need a little while to get used to the new fuel type. i won't deny i was a little worried, but it's all good now

Day 1 going well so far. Was amazed to weigh in at the same I finished at before the summer, I really expected to have gained a fair bit but I guess this woe has become more ingrained than I realised.

Am another one struggling to get enough water down, it's just getting back into the habit I think.

MmeLindor I take any of the following for my lunch (tend to rotate): tuna mayonnaise with salad leaves or cherry toms and cucumber; diced chicken mixed with mayo and celery with green salad; sainsbo's taste the diff cheese coleslaw with slices of pastrami; vegetable soup and a couple of mini cheeses.

caramel I am deeply lazy and just do a Callanetics vid two or three times a week.

Off to down some water...

Biwi - I actually thought that coming off the caffine completely was going to be a step too far but can only drink my coffee sweet and milky. Will pick up some sweetners first thing tomo and watch the milk amount.

I have a problem. I am in an all day business meeting tomo. With catered lunch. So I will apologise but I suspect that there will probably be carbs involved. Tomo is also my stupid exercise day so there will be 4 hours of stamina, core strength/flexibility and skill training for me. The plan is to take some cheese, a yoghurt and some celery (to munch for habit) as snacks. Hoping for scrambled eggs for breakfast. Will try and sort something out for tea but might just grab a bag of undressed salad and munch that whilst I watch ds do his stuff in the evening.

Also it turns out that lack of sleep, lack of caffine and lack of carbs is a very bad combination. I am irrationally and completely in a vile mood atm. Kit to sort and then i am off for a nap until ds' bedtime. Going to be a few more days of this isn't there? Or is it just me?

Ooh there you all are. I've weighed in. Breakfast of two rashers of bacon and an egg, onlym just hungry now so I've just had a snack of cheese and salami. I'll have something proper later.

I'd like to make up some low carb soups - any ideas?

Am child-minding and know that the minute I strip off to weigh myself , ds2 will decide to give my 2 year old mindee an emulsion paint make-over or start encouraging him to surf down the stairs on a tea-tray, or something. He goes home at 5.15 so I'll weigh in then.

Have drunk 3 pints of water so far.

Also had a coffee with cream mid morning, and a big coffee with a spalsh of semi skimmed this afternoon.

Lunch was a 3 egg omelette with 2 frankfurter sausages chopped into it and a big salad with mayo. I know frankfurters not ideal but they are open in fridge and I refuse to chuck them away.

Have had 2 slices of roasted gammon ham for a snack.

I'm not usually bothered by sweet things but have just seen a colleague come back to his desk with a delish looking cheese cake yoghurt pot. Had snack envy.

Am going to make this for our dinner party and not eat any. Chances?

Don't weigh this evening! All you are doing is weighing yourself + the food and drink that you have consumed today. Far better to do it first thing in the morning, naked and after you've been to the loo

This is the tricky time
About 50 g of Wensleydale with ginger and mango
About an ounce of Stilton
A slice of smoked Bavarian
Celery stick with tbs of peanut butter
Glass of water

That should do until dinner.
is that alright?

Report
BigStickBIWI · 01/10/2012 16:55

I'd go easy on the Wensleydale - the mango will be adding carbs - and have you checked the carb count of the peanut butter?

But yes - isn't it lovely to be able to eat cheese?!

Hello! Have been sooooooo much better today despite severe lack of organisation. Kept putting my alarm on snooze so didn't have time to cook breakfast but managed to get two rashers of bacon from school canteen! At lunch I made it out in the rain to get a salad as nothing in canteen suitable and then I have come home early as boiler man coming. DD (2.10) has some chocolate biscuits left over and I have resisted and had pepperamis!! I realise too much processed and I haven't had enough water yet but am very proud to not have had a biscuit and I have netball tonight!
