We've nearly grown out of the last thread here so i started the new one.

We're all doing different things but we're all here to support each other on the journey. We kick each other when we need it and offer sympathy when that's more appropriate.

Human that sounds like you've got a lot on. I don't envy you that many kids all the time, no wonder you aren't exercising this week.

I only lost half a pound this week (and have been too busy to come and tell you that til now). I didn't do it properly til the weekend though, so may have put on before Friday then lost it over the weekend.

I've been really good since Monday morning now. No crap at all. I've decided to cut out sugar completely as I've been eating way too much of it, and with my family history of diabetes I need to stop it. I haven't had any sugar for 3 days now and I've had a killer headache since about 5pm yesterday :( I'm not giving in though cos I really do think I'll feel better in the long run. I had a sneak peek at the scales this morning and it looks like I've lost 1lb already in just 2 days.

TheHumancatapult · 14/11/2012 17:53

I'm drinking soda ( diet but oh we'll also swigging coffee and popping sudafed ( now come down with heavy cold great timing not )

Will get back on it hopefully at the weekend right now I'm just concerteating make through day ( on top of the 5 I also have my older two so my house consist of
Ds 1 and ds2 ( 18,15 ) dd age 9 ds3 age 7 ( but more 4/5 due to Sn )

Then neighbours kids 8 and 6 but 8 has ASD so need keep eye on him then I have my 1 year old niece to

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 14/11/2012 18:12

Human, I feel quite sick just thinking about looking after that many children. I struggled with just dd2 today.

Maths, well done. Even half a pound is a good achievement. I hope your headache gets better soon. It'll be interesting to hear how well you do cutting out sugar, will you be really fussy even cutting out processed and/ or low fat foods or a bit more relaxed? We have a lot of diabetes in my family (a lot of obesity too on my dads side) so I worry about getting it too.

It's an anniversary with dh today so I have starved myself so I can have a very rich chocolate pudding after my hairy bikers curry. Dh still not noticed I'm on a diet or any of my new eBay size 14s. (I've just started bidding on size 12 skirts but I have a long way to go til I get there)

Goonatic · 14/11/2012 19:23

johnny my dd is four too! (she is just a bugger)!
Whooooah there human send them my way (and maths too if I remember rightly) I will have them writing sentences and doing number bonds in no time and your older two can be my TA s!!

You were so right about the salt in that sodding pizza, and back to where I was before I ate the stuff so still have a few days to go to get down a bit. Was v good today, no rubbish.

Keep it up all, we will be getting wolf whistles before you know it!!

Goonatic · 14/11/2012 19:23

Ps Happy Anniversary! Thanks

Mathsdidi · 14/11/2012 20:38

Goon it's not me with loads of kids. I've got 2 dds but you'd struggle to get my 2yo to do sentences and number bonds just yet (she's fairly bright but not quite genius standard Wink), and dd1 is 13 and is genius standard apparently according to her (and school think she's G&T too to be fair) so she would make a pretty good TA if you want her.

johnny Happy anniversary Thanks. My family is riddled with diabetes, both parents, sister and all aunts on my mum's side, so I'm just assuming I will develop it at some point in the future. I also have pcos which is accompanied by insulin resistance, so I am 'pre-diabetic' already. I really need to sort myself out, and now is the time to do it. I'm not going completely overboard and cutting out every trace of sugar in my diet but I am cutting out everything that has sugar as a main ingredient.

Human How long are you going to be looking after all those kids? I hope your neighbour gets better soon.

Goonatic · 14/11/2012 21:02

maths I thought you were a teacher, is that fermez (haven't seen her for yonks!) and clever dd!!!

dancinginthemoonlight · 14/11/2012 21:13

I caved in and ordered Chinese celebrate surviving today. My DS has been waking with night terrors for the last 2 nights...

Mathsdidi · 14/11/2012 21:23

Goon you are correct, I am a teacher, I misread your post completely and thought you wanted me to send you my children Blush (you can have them if you want, they've been doing my head in today). Fermez is a teacher too I think, I wonder where she's disappeared off to.

dancing I've ordered Chinese tonight too. I burnt our lovely healthy dinner and we did not have the makings of another meal in the house Blush. So takeaway it is and Chinese is the healthiest we have close by. I chose wisely though and it's not too bad.

Tortoise · 14/11/2012 21:42

I've had quite a good day today. I did have a snickers but only the one and no other crap. Smile
Oh i did have a bottle of Bud!
Hope i can keep it up!

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 14/11/2012 22:00

Thanks goon, it's the 14th anniversary of our first kiss. We were together for 9 years before we got married so it's just habit to celebrate. I cooked dinner as we couldn't get a babysitter but we'll be eating out next week to celebrate too. Anyway, it went well and because I only ate 2/3 of the chocolate pudding I managed on 1180 calories so I'm really pleased.

Goon, dd2 is my 23 month old who is an absolute nightmare. It took two of us to change a nappy earlier, one to pin her down (on our bed so she wouldn't thrash and bang her head). She has always been very 'spirited' but has had a cold for about five weeks and so can't sleep so is particularly grumpy. I do have a four year old daughter who is an angel and is so patient when dd1 hits her.

maths doesn't the pcos make dieting really hard? I have a friend who was similar weight / height to me (before I started to lose weight) and she eats fairly healthily but has not managed to lose weight.

I don't think fermez has been on this new thread, but didn't she have a new man at the end of the last thread? Let's hope she's enjoying some exercise. Wink

Mathsdidi · 14/11/2012 22:20

Yes Johnny the pcos does make dieting really hard. Apparently there is medication which would make it easier, the same medication my sister is on for her diabetes, but I'm not fat enough for that Hmm. My gp told me that pcos can make gaining weight easier and losing weight harder but I shouldn't use it as an excuse because the best way to control pcos is to lose weight. It all seemed a bit backwards to me, surely if there are drugs that would help me lose weight and that's what I need to do, then why am I not allowed the drugs?

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 14/11/2012 22:38

How annoying! So you have to develop diabetes or put on weight to get medication? I've heard of people overheating so that they could be considered for a gastric band too.

They always say you should go to a doctor when you want to lose weight but they don't seem particularly helpful when you do not that I know cos I'm scared of all medical professionals and won't go within a mile of one.

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 14/11/2012 22:40

Over eating not over heating!

Hate this spellchecker, last week I invited someone over for a playmate rather than a play date.

Mathsdidi · 14/11/2012 23:17

Yep, that's about what she said. That was about 3 years ago when I was TTC, so that's what I went for as pcos also makes it hard to concieve (and then puts you at higher risk of mc too which makes it all the shittier). So being told that in order to concieve I needed to lose weight and may still need to see a fertility clinic but she wasn't going to prescribe the drugs that would help me lose weight and wouldn't refer me to fertility clinic until I'd lost 2 stones at least I was a little pissed off. Of course that did give me the incentive I needed to get myself in gear and lose some weight, and she was right, by the time I'd lost 2 stone I didn't need to be referred to any fertility clinic as I was pg naturally. I'm now just about a stone heavier than I was then :( and need to sort myself out again. I did it before, so I can do it again.

Iceaddict · 15/11/2012 07:39

Hi everyone! Can i gate crash? Started my diet today, I'm calorie counting and have some appetite suppressants, to stop the temptation I hope Smile I have 3st to lose

TheHumancatapult · 15/11/2012 07:39

Goon think my niece may need a pass on the writing though Wink to be fair they are all getting on pretty well . Friends son has ASD but as he knows me well and my house he is ok . Though 30 mins for a coffee be nice

Chinese sounds very good

My Dr said his prOffediknal self is horrified at the diet I'm following but he is also proffesionally pleased that its goung ( i was morbidly obese but not far of just being overweight now ) but his personal self is intrested in how it works And agrees that maybe just quietly carrying on as I am is the best thing ( all my bloodworm checks out just fine )

Only thing he did say he agreed to if needed refer me for tummy tuck ( if j make it to goal as loose skin and because I'm sitting all the time and it gets infected that it's a medical need rather than a vanity need but I happily admit the vanity side to ( no more kids planned ) . I would then need to argue the case wise to the medical board but feels that string case as not like can do sit ups and the sores are dangerous as I can't stand to let air etc

TheHumancatapult · 15/11/2012 07:41

Most drs I saw that used bang on about my weight were often overweight themselves

TheHumancatapult · 15/11/2012 09:27

Thats proffesional Blush

tiggy114 · 15/11/2012 09:45

Iceaddict do appitite suppresents work for you? They wouldn't for me coz i enjoy eating. So even if i wasn't hungry, i'd still eat! I picked up a pack of those adios tablets at the supermarket then put em back. I absolutly LOVE slimfast shakes. But they're expensive (i'm skint) full of crap and not that good for you. Otherwise i'd live on em!

Iceaddict · 15/11/2012 09:51

Yes that's part of my problem. I eat even when I'm not hungry because I love food. Mainly in the evening, I can be good all day then cannot resist eating later on. I'm only on my first day, so far so good loads of energy, I expect they're a bit speedy. I can lose weight when I diet I just have zero willpower so I've got my fingers crossed for these.

I was recommended to take these by a woman my mum knows she's lost 51/2 stone.

I'm also using My fitness pal to stop me lying to myself. Very motivated today, hope it lasts Grin

Iceaddict · 15/11/2012 09:53

Have you tried supermarket own brand shakes? I'm sure they're much cheaper than slim fast

tiggy114 · 15/11/2012 10:00

Oh but i used to lie on mfp as well! I would put in a packet of couscous then look down the list to find the one with the lowest calories! And i never put drinks on either. My tip for late night is if i wanna snack i have a cup of chamomile tea or some other herbal instead. Also when serving dinner out now, rest of family have dinner plates and i have a side plate so i don't get as much. We eat fairly healthy, i just eat too much i think.

tiggy114 · 15/11/2012 10:01

Didn't know there was supermarket own brand. Is it adios your taking?

tiggy114 · 15/11/2012 10:02

Oh and my other tip (full of em today) i have a glass of berocca in a morning. Full of vitamins, tasty and i have loads of energy to see me through to lunch.
