We've nearly grown out of the last thread here so i started the new one.

We're all doing different things but we're all here to support each other on the journey. We kick each other when we need it and offer sympathy when that's more appropriate.

i have had a good week so far as determined to see a weight loss this week ( hopefully a decent one)
I have stuck to my 1200 calories every day so really hope it makes a difference

I wanted too to try adios but as i had my gall bladder removed a couple of years ago fear that isnt a wise option as they work with a normal digestive system and obviously mine now isnt !

Iceaddict · 15/11/2012 10:12

Thanks! Tips are always welcome, not tried that but I will, no they're diethylpropion from the clinic, yes I've had tesco and asda shakes before I'm sure they're around £6 a tub.

ICBINEG · 15/11/2012 12:05

lo all.

I doubt it will last till weigh in day (I always weigh less on tuesdays/thursdays than I do the next monday - some combination of badminton and low caffeine intake over the weekend) but today, right now, I am half way through my planned weight loss!

Two and a bit stone gone and two and a bit more to go.

Also I started right on the overweight/obese BMI line (30) and today I am right on the normal/overweight BMI line (25).

So another massive thank you to my no excuses thread buds!

ICBINEG · 15/11/2012 12:09

Just been reading the comments about GPs. It pisses me right off that if you need help and support giving up smoking they are right there to provide it (and so they should be!) but if you need help and support losing weight (and a lot of us have fairly unhealthy psychological relationships with food that we could certainly use some professional help with) then there is just nothing.

Yeah - go and see the GP before you go on a diet so they can do some gentle (patronising) chiding and give you basic and utterly pointless nutritional info (because no fat person could possibly have worked out that they need to eat less calories to lose weight).

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 15/11/2012 13:17

Hi iceaddict welcome to the thread.

Well done icb What an achievement! I can't imagine going to BMi 25 and wanting to go down more! My aim is BMi 24.9!

I briefly considered going to the doctor but my gp is crap. I know what you mean about smoking, it must be very hard to give up, but at least you give up whereas with food you can't stop eating and there's a million experts all pushing a different way of losing weight, so it is hard. Slightly worried about the number of people who say calorie counting makes you fat in the long run and wondering if I shouldn't do a lower carb approach but I think I would find that hard to fit into the family diet.

Lunch today is more hairy bikers curry. Not sure about dinner but I've been googling dry rubs to see if I can find a way of making chicken interesting.

Tortoise · 15/11/2012 14:15

I'm so tired and lacking energy today. It's going to be a hard day i feel.

Youcanringmybell · 15/11/2012 17:08

Hey everyone - I have committed a serious crime and bought chocolate. It was entirely intentional and planned. I didn't get the job I went for, I have had a terrible headache all day, my kids are poorly with a cold and I quite frankly needed somehting to look forward to.

I know I will feel awful and terrible tomorrow but when I feel up to it again I will give it everything I have got!!

Sorry for anyone already on a downer. I will shape up soon I swear!!

FedUpOfRain · 15/11/2012 19:30

I have had a fair few chocolate bars over the past weeks youcan I understand wanting something to look forward to (and the guilt that follows) I just try to be a bit better the next day. Sorry to hear you didnt get the job, I'm sure its their loss Smile
I'm having an ok day, trying to be good I really want chocolate now but when I get home from work I just want to eat junk. I might plan something nice for the weekend I can look forward to.
Hope you all had a good day!

Mathsdidi · 15/11/2012 21:07

Sorry you didn't get the job youcan, it's such a competitive job market out there isn't it? A bar of chocolate can be forgiven in the circumstances. Even slim people have occassional chocolate you know.

I've discovered another trick to losing weight. All you have to do is work through lunch every day and then fall asleep when you are putting the dcs to bed and wake up far too late to eat a main meal.

TheHumancatapult · 16/11/2012 05:35

Sorry youcan

Yup think chocolate entirely justified

Oops maths I admit I often go to bed early to advoid snacking/munching

dancinginthemoonlight · 16/11/2012 06:04

Sort to hear about the job youcan. Chocolate is justified and today is a new say. You thought about buying a nice goal outfit to wear when DH comes home as motivation?

Youcanringmybell · 16/11/2012 07:18

You lot are lovely thank you! Feeling a bit better this morning as i slept from 8pm - to 7a.m!! My headache is there but I am already all over the Nurofen. Feeling far more optimistic.

It came down to two of us and the other person had far more pre-school experience than me (ex-childminder) so that's fair.

Anyhoo..dancing - er not clothes so much as er...'nightwear' Grin
Very flattering, non-Ann Summers (never fits in the cup) nightwear.

I ordered more chicken noodle soup this week and they were out of stock so they sent me 'Cock flavoured Soup' - THAT IS WHAT IT IS CALLED Grin

It is a jamaican clear is chicken soup and very spicy!! But yummy. 150cals for a massive bowl (more than the usual clear soup) so not bad.

Available from all good Tesco's....

Iceaddict · 16/11/2012 07:28

Sorry about no youcan. Something great will come up and you'll be glad you didn't get it.

I went to bed at 11 and didn't snack! Had a good day and actually worked up a sweat cleaning the house, Maybe I didn't snack as I was glueing spots on a top for DS as there was nothing left in the shops, why don't school give more notice?!!

Iceaddict · 16/11/2012 07:29

I'm sure that said sorry about the job! Oh well

Youcanringmybell · 16/11/2012 07:38

Well done Iceaddict - snacking is a daily challenge that's for sure!! Thanks

ICBINEG · 16/11/2012 09:50

Johnny I made chicken in the stick a bunch of minifillets in the oven with some of the nandos BBQ spice rub sprinkled over them (to lazy to actually rub obvs) and that came out quite lovely!

youcan sorry to hear about the job but even getting to interview is a major achievement these days!

TheHumancatapult · 16/11/2012 19:02

That chicken sounds fab

I'm doing nowt back to just my 4 dc now I'm wiped to tired to eat ( kids having chip shop )

TheHumancatapult · 16/11/2012 19:05

But think need get back to doing the yoga of a morning it seemed to help with the energy levels and the scales also need get back to drinking water I lived on diet soda and coffee bto am not expecting this week to be that good as it has been smaller loss I think but oh we'll

Youcanringmybell · 16/11/2012 19:44

Human - have something - even if it is a cuppa tea and soem toast. Keep your energy levels up a bit!

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 16/11/2012 20:37

icb thanks for that, I've ordered some online as i couldn't find any in the supermarket. it sounds yummy. I am looking forward to making chicken interesting again.

youcan I'm sorry you didn't get the job but I'm sure something else will come up and you'll get it. Hurray for new nightwear! Lucky dh Grin Blush

Had an ok week, 3 good days and 2 quite good days. Wore a nice dress today with a gorgeous new size 14 cardigan I bought from eBay. I would've felt confident and attractive but for a spot on my forehead! Gah! At my age!

Youcanringmybell · 16/11/2012 21:28

Johnny - congrats on a size 14 Grin

Amazing !!

TheHumancatapult · 17/11/2012 02:42

Wow johnny on the 14

I have a pair of size 14 as my try on jeans can get then on and over my arse but the button not meet but it will some point ( will try in again after lost a stone see if it's any nearer

Afraid I just fell into bed was way to tired. But just got up and raided fridge for some chicken

Mathsdidi · 17/11/2012 20:50

Congrats on the size 14 johnny. I had to go shopping for new jeans today as the zip has gone on my old ones. I had to buy a size 20 Angry. So apparently I have lost almost a stone but have gone up a jeans size Confused. How did that happen? I'm sure i just picked up some that are sized quite small (because they were only £8, I can't expect fabulous quality).

TheHumancatapult · 17/11/2012 21:20

Maths I find depends on make and where from alters the size . Primark being a prime example as they tend be cut based on Indian sizing which is slimmer

TigerlilySandybanks · 17/11/2012 21:50

Hey all. I just joined mumsnet today and looking for these kind of threads. I have two girls aged 3 and 1 and 3 stone to lose. I'm about 13 st and really want to be 10 st. I've lost and gained and lost and gained the same four lbs for months now. I log calories and try to stick to 1200 a day. This weekend has been a total loss and I can feel that I've put on weight as my unsightly gut is even more unsightly. I always get depressed when this happens but that doesn't seem to be enlighten to stop me eating crap. Which upsets me even more as I'm my own worst enemy and only have myself to blame. I do exercise, but after a day with the girls working 24-hour shifts and trying to keep on top of the house work, I'm usually exhausted. I need to be more proactive and not make excuses. Sad
