WiseKneeHair MFP name is the same as MN.

Nooneelseisallowedafergus · 17/01/2013 16:10

Don't worry littleabruzzen, I've just had a GIANT homemade choc chip cookie. It was unbelievably lush, but nearly 400cal! But am still within my cal limit for today. That's the best thing about MFP; you can have treats, it is not a faddy diet, all it does is encourage mindful eating and a bit of give and take.
That is why I am not my 8th day and I am cruising along.
So don't beat yourself up at all, just have a little less for dinner.

Nooneelseisallowedafergus · 17/01/2013 16:11

*on my 8th day

LittleAbruzzenBear · 17/01/2013 17:05

I did enjoy it. I was Grin after. DH is away so just had a very early dinner and within my limit thankfully! Am full and happy, but haven't overdone it.

BoraBora · 17/01/2013 17:25

Am going to be over today, all because I had to have some cereal! I was so hungry :(

If you were breastfeeding and starving, should you eat, or should you try and hold off?

Chopstheduck · 17/01/2013 17:42

I think I'd eat Bora, it can't be good for your milk to be that hungry, don't beat yourself up about it.

Doogle2 · 17/01/2013 21:18

I would eat Bora. This app is a guide and to make you aware of what you are eating. An extra bowl of cereal isn't a disaster and to be honest you will probably benefit from a bit of extra calcium ( the milk)
If it makes you feel better I know I will go a bit over tomorrow as I need to have one night where I can have a glass of wine!

Doogle2 · 18/01/2013 07:37

I wonder how many exercise points I can earn for playing in the snow? Grin

Chopstheduck · 18/01/2013 07:40

I wanna go sledging Grin

Nooneelseisallowedafergus · 18/01/2013 08:45

I bet climbing up snowy hills dragging a sledge is the best exercise ever! No snow in Colchester though.
Is anyone doing MFP with their other half?
My husband does not have any weight at all to lose (he has a washboard stomach) BUT as he is Mister Ultra Competitive, he has started doing it because I am doing it!
But it is sooooo annoying because men are allowed so many more calories, so after dinner he can always have a wine or milky hot choc and half a big bar of dairy milk fruit and nut and still stay under his daily calorie limit. SO UNFAIR. This is why they can easily stay slimmer than women - it's a conspiracy I tell ya!

Chopstheduck · 18/01/2013 10:13

I think most men have a competitive streak don't they! Thankfully mine can't be bothered with logging food. He is also doing c25k though. He actually started a fortnight before me, over Xmas. He kept nagging me to do it too, I wasn't interested, then he lost interest. Then I started, and hey presto he hasn't missed a run since! Grin

He won't exercise or eat healthily until I am too. And he has far less weight to lose than me Angry

cinnamongreyhound · 18/01/2013 10:44

Definitely eat BoraBora, as I said before I understand why you want to lose weight but your feeding your baby is also important and if you want to continue bf you need to take care.

My dh is a powerlifter so is constantly trying to eat as he doesn't really like food! He has quite a few calories from cider and then he tries to find the easiest way to get calories into himself. He's not a bodybuilder so it doesn't have to be low fat but he doesn't like pies, quiche, pasties etc so it's usually milk, chicken, beef and cottage cheese at the moment! I dish him up 3-4 times the size of dinner I have and he struggles every night to eat it. He's on about 4,000 a day. We always used to joke we could do with swapping appetites, but now mine is much smaller.

WiseKneeHair · 18/01/2013 11:59

cinnamon Shock and Envy at having to eat 4000 calories a day!
My DH is also exercising and eating healthily, but isn't logging it anywhere. He has a bit of a tummy he would like to loos, but is 6'4" and has only about a stone to lose, whether as I have 2.5 - 3 stone to lose. He doesn't tell me how much he's lost, partly because he is not as focused on weight loss as I am and partly because he knows I would strangle him when he's lost loads more than me. Grin
It's good when he wants to exercise in the evening as it spurs me on. Also, we are both only drinking alcohol at the weekends.

javotte · 18/01/2013 11:59

My husband is naturally skinny and has a physical job (and often works outside). He is losing weight ATM! How do I fatten him up while I am dieting, without cooking an entirely different meal?

cinnamongreyhound · 18/01/2013 12:45

Bigger portion javotte, that's all I do or add a fried egg to dh's dinner.

PrannyHamster · 18/01/2013 12:52

My partner is 6 ft 6 and 12 stone and every day he eats chocolate, cheese, massive bowls of pasta, doughnuts etc etc. It's not fair! Envy

LittleAbruzzenBear · 18/01/2013 13:24

DH is lucky, he pretty much cuts out or down on one thing and he loses weight. Envy. It is a much longer process for me. I look at a cake and I may as well cellotape it to my backside/thighs! We are both trying to stick to 1-2 glasses of wine a week though and that makes a small difference to me.

BoraBora · 18/01/2013 13:42

My DH is 6" and 11.5 stone. He runs regularly because he enjoys it. He just doesn't enjoy the taste of junk food. Doesn't have a sweet tooth. Doesn't see food as good/bad/treat. It's just food.

Where can I take him to get him shot?

Nooneelseisallowedafergus · 18/01/2013 16:12

This thread obv wouldn't be so involved if our husbands were on it.
It would say, played football / squash / went for run LOVED IT
Ate some food as was hungry LOVED IT
Was then full so stopped eating.
Entered my calories into MFP and am again slightly under for today.
EASY.
Maybe women are more prone to emotional eating, and dislike of exercise than men?
When I am stressed I reach for wine or choc, when hubbie stressed he goes for a walk or a run. I think this says it all.......

cinnamongreyhound · 18/01/2013 16:50

Mine drinks cider when stressed and falls asleep Wink. He can't train when he's stressed and dislikes all kinds of cardio exercise! I definitely eat for comfort but do really love my running now I can go a decent distance. Was so hoping it wouldn't snow too much so I can go for usual Saturday morning 6 miles :)

Nooneelseisallowedafergus · 18/01/2013 18:03

I hope you get your run in cinnamon. I will resist saying you go girl!

MonsterBookOfTysons · 18/01/2013 18:25

I am really hungry all the time atm. Think I just need to.ignore the hunger pangs in.the evening and get.into a good routine again.
Exercise has been good today, aswell as walking I was dragging dc on sledges, with a combined weight of 5st! :o
My dh just cuts out energy drinks and after a few weeks looks great.

BoraBora · 18/01/2013 18:58

That's interesting about your DH cinnamon, does he compete?

cinnamongreyhound · 18/01/2013 19:18

It's snowing now so not looking great, one of the ladies from our group is running in the london marathon so goes off to do another 6 half way through our run! She will be running if at all possible so we'll see! No he doesn't BoraBora, he should be he is happy on his own beating himself. His squat is now over 600lb though Shock
