Oh yes - agree with Venetia - I do find BFBM handy when travelling so have it downloaded to iphone! Have done it in a number of hotel rooms and my parents back garden!!

gingercat12 · 15/11/2012 12:22

Venetia's DD Grin

Arcadie · 15/11/2012 14:01

I'm only kidding about the waiting for a year thing - I'm on a PN thread with Earnest so she knows my lazy ways..... but I could barely function at 6 weeks PN - Earnest is however a lithe and active little thing and puts me to shame.

EarnestDullard · 15/11/2012 16:21

Grin Arcadie Believe me, I'm far from lithe and active at the moment. Thanks for the replies everyone; I think I'll hold off on the Shred for a bit longer; might start slowly with some pilates and light jogging and see how I feel.

CHST · 15/11/2012 21:08

ginger what do you mean about counting backwards or forwards? I am confused.
I tell you what pisses me off on Bob Harper's workout is some guy called Angel who has seriously crap form most of the time and Bob doesn't even correct it. It really puts me off..he should go lighter on the weights..he doesn't hold plank correctly and hunches over when lifting weights....the girls kick the guys' arses seriously. Girl power
Max plyo circuit, max cardio conditioning and a fit test and I be done with Insanity!
My knees will be very glad!

gingercat12 · 16/11/2012 12:32

CHST Poor Angel gets it in the neck from Bob as well. I was so sorry for him.
Bob sometimes counts down from 15 to 1, and other times 1 to 10, YKWIM. He is inconsistent, and I am tetchy when I am crap at a work-out...

I decided next year will be about getting my snowdrift off my tummy, so 6W6P, Killer Abs and then Bob Harper... I enjoy planning what dvds to buy next.

CHST · 16/11/2012 14:20

I want killer abs too but not sure whether to get it from US or UK (both are region 1)

CHST · 16/11/2012 14:21

To be honest, I didn't even notice his counting!

gingercat12 · 16/11/2012 19:36

CHST Because you were probably too busy doing the exercises right, while I was cr@p blaming Bob's counting...

CHST · 16/11/2012 22:38

eek have just bought killer abs off ebay...now the wait begins to get it in the post

gingercat12 · 17/11/2012 16:27

please, let us know if you like it CHST

CHST · 18/11/2012 08:34

ginger I will let you know!
Insanity graduate here! woop! I am so relieved but have loved the journey. It has been soooooooo tough at times but glad I pushed through...am looking to going back to half an hourish workouts!
You do a fit test beginning, during and after to practice progress and I'm going to share my results....you do as many of the following in a minute: First result = day 1, second result = end of insanity

switch kicks: 109 117
power jacks: 40 62
power knees: 84 107
power jumps: 34 53
globe jumps: 7 10
suicide jumps: 15 20
push up jacks: 20 30
low plank oblique: 33 50

aroomofherown · 18/11/2012 12:01

Can i join? I've just completed Day 1 Level 1 of the 30DS. I've done it before about 2 years ago but I don't remember it being this tough. I did enjoy it though - it's over before you know it so it doesn't feel too bad until tomorrow probably

How is Jillian not sweaty by the end? Even her lipstick is intact Shock

GeekLove · 18/11/2012 12:26

Hello no time no see - have still been doing Shred at least 3 times a week apart from one week when I had a cold.
Earnest
I started Shredding as soon as I had had my 8 week all clear but I had a very straightforward birth with no cuts or stitches. Even the. I found that I had to avoid the most plyometrics exercises since my knees really did whinge -this is no doubt a result of looser tendons as a result of pregnancy.
I think you are better off avoiding plyo/ heavy reps for at least 12 weeks post birth from my experience.

gingercat12 · 19/11/2012 12:42

aroomfoherown Welcome, hope you'll like it. IKWYM I never understand how can they be so fit. Also Jillian never shuts up. All right she does not always do every single exercise, but she talks for England.

CHST Wow! That just sounds, well, insane.

Just moved up to Killer Buns L2. Always a bit scared of it. Mind you, this time I could do single leg burpees and that crab dance thingy where I previously could not balance. Result!

notyummy · 19/11/2012 12:59

Will have to see if I can find my Insanity month 1 results CHST. There was a definite marked improvement in everything I think. I scribbled them down in one of DDs notebooks though, so there is a chance they have been discarded. I am still not entirely sure it wasn't starting month 2 that set my back off - although the physio says it is having to sit in the car and at work that is actually the most damaging thing for it. There really isn't much I can do about that though, but I am setting an alarm on my phone to force me to get up and walk about every 20 mins when not driving.

Back is slowly improving. I cracked and did a 2 jog run on Saturday and Sunday, plus 15 mins of pilates on Saturday. Finding the no exercise thing really hard. Nothing today and will see the physio again tomorrow and see what she says about doing some light stuff. That said, staying away from nearly everything has resulted in it improving, so I think it is a neceesray (although hopefully temporary evil.)

CHST · 19/11/2012 14:17

welcome aroomofherown! Keep going! It will get better!
ginger well done on the improvements! Always so satisfying!
notyummy love to see your results if you find them. Can totally understand your feeling on not being able to exercise. Hope the physio can give you some options tomorrow.

well I did Body Revolution workout 11 to see how it would feel today. It is strange using weights after over 60 days of using just body weight. Not as bad as I thought...the cardio minutes were not challenging for me but I kinda new that was going to happen. Still finding the three part push up challenging but did quite a bit both times round unmodified...before I simply could not do it unmodified.
Another thing for me which felt good today was that I was able to hold chaturanga unmodified both times for the whole time. Last time I did it, I even struggled on my knees so looks like Insanity has given me a lot of strength in my triceps and biceps and core too.
Felt really wierd when I had finished though as with Insanity, I was so sweaty at the end and now did not sweat much. I also felt like I had more in the tank as the insanity workouts are double the time. I hope I don't lose that endurance

aroomofherown · 19/11/2012 19:36

Oooh I'm glad I logged in to read your messages of support. My leg, arm and tummy muscles hurt and I was tempted to have a sneaky little glass of wine and tap away on tinternet but I think I'll get my kit on and give it a go Smile.

gingercat you're right, she just talks and talks!

aroomofherown · 19/11/2012 21:27

I did it. Day 2 Smile

notyummy · 19/11/2012 22:08

Here you go CHST

Switch kicks- 120 130

Power squats- 55 59

Power knees 110 107 (yes, got worse!)

Jumps- 11 13

Suicides- 24 28

Push up jacks- 22 29

Plank things 60 64

CHST · 20/11/2012 08:22

Those are good reps not yummy, especially the switch kicks and high plank obliques! You must have been going at quite some pace!
I'm going to do Bob Harper Yoga for the warrior today...first time trying it. Will let you know how I get on

CHST · 21/11/2012 17:29

Enjoyed Bob Harper Yoga actually though some moves are crazy and I can't do them..!
Was going to do a Bob Harper today....my hardest one but my arms were hurting so thought an hour of arm bashing was not going to help so did Body Revolution workout 6 today. One of my fav moves in there, lunge chops. Great for getting aggression out.
Stamps feet impatiently while waiting for new dvd to arrive.
Check in everyone! What was your workout today?

gingercat12 · 21/11/2012 18:33

Killer L2. Still hard for me so early in the morning, but makes my day enjoyable.

CHST What are lunge chops? Sounds super.

Am munching Heston's mince pies. I think I am addicted.

notyummy · 21/11/2012 18:44

Are the same as the chops in L2 6W6P?

Bad back still inhibiting nearly everything. I have set of pilates and yoga very gentle moves given to me by physio yesterday. PLus she said I can walk for up to 30 mins, but not overstride. It is still really quite sore, but I am more mobile than I was. I ended up doing 30 mins on the cross trainer today - not sure if that is allowed by was raining too hard for a walk.

In slightly less glum news, the physio told me I had 'extremely impressive' lower abs. That'll be all those planks and windshield wipers then!

CHST · 21/11/2012 21:12

those are static chops in 6w6p. In BR, you lunge and swing at the same time with a lot of force like you are trying to hit someone behind you.
