Brussels airport has a kids' play area in a secluded part in Terminal B (I think or A), which is only open after 3 or 4 pm. Don't know why. Of course Monday was the only day when a flight was boarding opposite and people with no kids were sitting in the play area (in England they would have been arrested - how sad). They also have computers next to the play area, so it partly sheltered me from view, and let DH work while DS played and joined in.

The toilets are near, too, so you can change your top and wash a little bit.

It is not so much dedication, as need. I had my AF, and I just needed the exercise to be in less pain. I just worried my trousers would rip or fall down. I need to buy some smaller ones Grin. I love Jillian and am addicted. Also I am still very big, but in a much better shape.

gingercat12 · 08/11/2012 13:45

I saw an advert for P90X this week and I found the hard sell very convincing. Although I am still hoping to be able get to Insanity level first. Maybe in the new year.

notyummy · 10/11/2012 20:01

Still held back by my back! Managed Killer L1 yesterday. Only with 3kg weights and had to substitute a couple of exercises. Stayed in a hotel last night and went to the gym this morning. Managed a session on the bike and a short slow run, which I cut short because of back. Seeing physio on Tuesday and it can't come fast enough.

CHST · 10/11/2012 21:27

notyummy I really hope the physio helps...does not sound fun :(
only 1 week left of insanity for me to go woop woop!
ginger I really like the look of p90x too but you need a pull up bar and where the hell do I put that? I'm afraid of ruining the door frame...the workouts are quite long an hour to 90 mins? That for 90 days? I think p90x is definitely more strength focused whereas insanity is more cardio focused so it depends what you want out of it. Have heard that people who do insanity first find p90x cardio easy in comparison.
Not sure what to do after insanity myself...am probably going to do bits and bobs till xmas and then maybe a program after. Have Bob Harper's totally ripped core I haven't tried yet...have two others of his...I do like Bob Harper's workouts..challenging! I think I want to incorporate more yoga into my workouts as flexibility is definitely something I could work on

gingercat12 · 11/11/2012 18:47

notyummy Hope you are feeling better. Mind you I am perfectly healthy and would not find Killer L1 easy with 3 kg weights...

CHST Thanks for the info. I already get up at 5.50 even for Killer, so perhaps a 90-minute work-out would be a step too far. By Friday afternoon I cannot keep my eyes open. For the rest of the year it is Killer and then 6W6P for me. BFBM is nearly finished. Maybe the new JM dvds are worth having a look.

What do you think about NMTZ? Is it long? Is it good?

CHST · 11/11/2012 19:48

To be honest ginger nmtz is not my favourite...don't know why, just can't seem to get on with it...same with level 2 of 6w6p. I really want to get her new one killer abs...
If you want a step up strength wise, I can reccomend Bob Harper's total body transformation and pure burn super strength....I also have his totally ripped core which I have yet to try!

xelliex · 12/11/2012 09:52

Well so much for my double shredding! Not done any for seven days. I've been decorating but really I could have fit 20 minutes in. For some reason I seem to lose motivation the minute I take a day off, and then one day ends up being three.

I have two long shifts at work the next two days so on wednesday I am going to try and do some Jillian. I want to get back into it before xmas, I don't want to start putting on weight now!

babbas · 12/11/2012 10:52

Hello everyone. Can I join you please? Ive been shredding since early sept. in fact I had a complete diet and exercise overhaul. I'm on my second round of shred and currently on level 2. I love shredding. And try and do it at least 5 times a week with walking and l1 killer and billy blanks abs thing ( recorded off sky) sometimes mixed in. Last week was my tenth week of exercising and I was v lazy. Only 4 sessions of shred. I think it's because psychologically I have completely lost my mojo. I have list about 3lb in these last ten weeks and I am really demoralised. I try it to focus on weight but it really affects my mood and my ability to keep going

There are many positives: I have lost a few small inches I think and I am stronger. The second round of shred feels easier. Also the day I exercise I feel amazing all day.

Please can you encourage me to keep going? Today I woke up an hour early to shred l2 and I will be doing a 50 min during school run. I try and eat well and am using Mfp to log calories.

I have bought a box set of jm DVDs and after I complete my second round of shred I have decided to do alternate weeks of 6w6p and bfbm. I have been lurking to feel I know you all! Notyummy hope your back gets better!

notyummy · 12/11/2012 11:36

I really like NMTZ actually. It is around 45 mins. Split in segments like NMTZ. The last 2 bits are the easiest, so if short if time you could leave then out and cut it down to 35 mins.

It was actually L1 Shed and Shred I did yesterday- not Killer! It is relatively easy I think, but I wasn't trying to push the weight up because of my back. May try L1 Killer tomorrow. I need stuff that doesn't demand too much of core/back and that doesn't need heavy weights for any benefit to be got out of it.

notyummy · 12/11/2012 11:37

And welcome Babass! Get your trainers on!

gingercat12 · 12/11/2012 12:55

Thanks for the replies and welcome Babbas! I currently only maintain lost weight, but it is a slow process, Babbas. But it took years for me to put on those 2 stones I lost since January, so it is ok. No rush. I love that rush of endorphine you get after exercising as well.

The age-old question what would make my abs flatter... That is why I cannot get a new dvd before I do 6W6P again.

CHST I recorded Bob Harper and I was not sure if it is for me. He always confused me with the counting. Are you counting forwards or backwards? I am simple, me. Maybe your right, Killer abs is what I need. And maybe when I am stronger, Bob Harper. His work-out are so stylish.

notyummy Is NMTZ any good for "blasting those abs"? Bad back is the worst thing in the world.

babbas · 12/11/2012 14:29

Thanks for the lovely welcome. So as well as l2 shred I also did the first two circuits of bfbm and I loved it. Tmrw am planning on doing all of bfbm as I need a change from shred. To all those wanting good abs exercises, I recorded billy blanks tae bo for instant abs. It's amazing. It's the only abs workout which makes me core and obliques ache for days. It's on sky 282 and I would recommend. He does stand up an work and sit down but they are super effective.

notyummy · 12/11/2012 14:33

Ginger- NMTZ is strength based and there are 2/3 circuits out if 7 that focus on core and abs. Probably great for overall strength and fat burning, although not wholly focussed on abs. Extreme Shed and Shred has a lot of core and abs. Mainly L2.

YankeeAlphaBravoUniform · 12/11/2012 17:34

Just done day be of the 30 day shred. I am dripping with sweat!

Arcadie · 13/11/2012 13:49

Hi All - I've not been on for a very long time but have just about finished the 30DS. My question to you hardcore Jillian fans:

Which next - BFBM or 6W6P? I've been given both for my birthday and wondered whether you guys rate one as harder than the other? TIA

notyummy · 13/11/2012 15:24

BFBM lasts longer but has a couple of really quite easy circuits (and a couple of pretty tough.) L2 6W6P is really tough IMO if you do the second time round at the pace she wants you to and use a fairly decent weight (3kgish.) L1 has its moments too, but is nowhere near as hard on the sweaty/ cardio front.

Just back from the physio. Bulging disc apparently. Have been given a lecture. Absolutely nothing apart from gentle walking and stretching for a week. Wah!!

VenetiaLanyon · 14/11/2012 09:01

that's rotten, notyummy. Hope that you're feeling obedient; know it will be tough...

My DD (4) has started trying to join in properly with a few exercises, to get "stronger and stronger". Am trying to make sure that the emphasis is always on fitness and health rather than weight when I talk to her about what I'm doing.

Arcadie, they're both a bit longer than Shred; BFBM does't require weights, and 6W6P feels like yuo're being rushed through, but both have their own merits. Think that Ripped and Killer are better, however. Congrats on being nearly finished!

Welcome babbas and well done Yankee!

gingercat12 · 14/11/2012 12:51

notyummy Enjoy your rest [just trying to be positive].

Venetia How can you cope with a 4-y-o joining in? I am always worried that I accidentally kick mine in the head, or something. He is just so unaware of his surroundings sometimes, and seems to think that being as close to Mommy as possible is the best course of action in life.

Arcadie I love 6W6P, it nearly makes me sick though. BFBM feels a lot easier in comparison. But probably only because I started with 6W6P and then did BFBM.

EarnestDullard · 14/11/2012 14:08

Can I pop my head round the door to ask a quick question? How long after giving birth would you wait before Shredding? I've done it before, but am currently 6 weeks postpartum, and had a 2nd degree tear. So the idea of a lunge terrifies me a little bit. WDYT?

Arcadie · 14/11/2012 20:30

Hi Earnest! I'd give it at least another year, but that may not be what you want to hear!

Arcadie · 14/11/2012 20:31

And thank for the DVD choice. Will go with BFBM and then progress....

xelliex · 14/11/2012 21:24

Hi checking in. I managed to do level 2 ripped and three circuits of NMTZ today. Almost enjoyed it! Just need to keep it up...

Hi Earnest, I had an episiotomy with DD1 and no way could I have shredded 6 weeks later. Just the thought of doing jumping jacks; I could barely walk. That said I did get an infection and all my stitches fell out so I'm probably not typical. Maybe leave it a bit longer and then watch the dvd all the way through and modify the high impact moves if you really want to try it.

Arcadie · 14/11/2012 22:26

Ok So I've just done my first BFBM... and I can tell you were all being polite and basically saying" Why would you go back to that after the Shred?" It's not as hard core is it? And although I feel really puffed and red, I don't feel nearly as knackered as I do after the Shred L3....

So my question for those of you who DO use BFBM - do you start from circuit 3 or something? The first two did seem a little tame after travelling push ups from Shred 3! (and also I'm properly Hmm about JM's piece to camera at the end of BFBM. Every part of my life will be stronger.... REALLY?????)

VenetiaLanyon · 15/11/2012 09:40

Arcadie, I have to confess that I only use BFBM in hotels when I'm travelling with work, so that I don't have to lug weights aroundSmile

Gingercat, I permanently feel that I'm about to clobber said 4 y.o. with weights...she definitely has an undeveloped sense of her own mortality...

notyummy · 15/11/2012 09:56

I know, I know Aracdie - sometimes you just have to realise that she is an American and shrug your shoulders! Yes, BFBM comparatively easy apart from one circuit I think with the lots of jumping/skaters touching the floor etc. I certainly always skip the warm up because circuit 1 is easy enough to count as a warm up.

Re shredding after birth. I have no direct experience as I didn't find it until dd was about 3, but I did have a difficult delivery (forceps/epis etc) and was also keen to get back exercising. I didnt do any high impact stuff for 9 weeks because basically everything felt like it would fall out before that (sorry, TMI...) I then started running slowly and visited the gym and did some weights. I wouldn't have thought you need to wait a year unless advised to by a doctor - I was certainly doing high impact stuff/fairly strenuous stuff by about the 12 week point - depends on how your healing process goes though. Perhaps give it a try in 3/4 weeks if you feel you a healing ok and do the easy/low impact version of everything?
